Summary
Buck supposes in a way, he’s always been a little obsessive.
When a thought grips him—a fear—he’s rarely able to let go of it again. It digs its little claws into his brain and makes a home inside his head until eventually, it relents and loosens its hold. Sometimes, it’s only to make room for a new fear. Other times, it simply disappears on its own.
It’s just something he’s learned to live with—something he can live with.
And then he gets struck by lightning.
Or: After Buck gets struck by lightning, he starts to develop OCD.

“You can say no. You can refuse and I won’t mind. But I have something to ask from you, something that might be a bit too much,” he flashed the warning at Scar, in case he wanted to back off yet he remained firm in his footing.
“You can ask anything from me and I’ll try to do it to the best of my ability,” Scar swore.
“Be my pretend boyfriend,” he blurted. Not hesitant, not uncertain, but firm.
Scar froze, as if his brain couldn’t process Grian’s demand, and crashed. “Sorry, what?”
“I,” He pointed at himself, “need you,” he pointed at Scar, “to be my fake boyfriend.” He made a lopsided heart with his hands.
“O-oh.”
“If you don’t want to, you don’t have to,” Grian reminded him. The last thing he wanted was to overstep the boundaries of one of his bestest friends.
Grian’s parents have been bothering him to get a girlfriend. To spite them and shut them up, he pretends to be in a relationship with his best friend, Scar. Things go downhill from there, especially as something fake turns into something far more real.
