Summary
It takes a month after Arthur lifts the ban on magic for him to adjust to the fact that the people around him might actually start to use it. Even stranger is when Merlin learns some from Gaius and, oddly enough, has a bit of a knack for it.
In which Arthur is obtuse, Merlin is trying his best, and Gwaine, Elyan and Leon don't understand why they can't learn to light fires as easily as Merlin did.

Summary
In a black-and-white television show with a ridiculously small audience, Merlin reunites with his fiancé Arthur Pendragon in the 1950s.
This is completely normal, and has nothing to do with how long Merlin has had to wait for the Once and Future King to return.

Summary
Langa didn’t understand, at first. Why that heart-racing feeling was suddenly gone, why even the most intense beef wasn’t exciting him. Why he was letting himself fall behind.
Now he does. Because when he locked eyes with Reki, saw that unruly hair, heard the intensity of his voice, it all made so much sense. Langa enjoys skateboarding, sure. He likes the thrill of it, the way it’s the same and new to his body all at once, the way the excitement of a race runs like electricity straight through him.
But that isn’t why he does it. Not really.

Summary
Merlin twisted round in his new chair as Arthur scowled over his shoulder. "He could be anyone, you know."
"I got that part, yes," Arthur said flatly.
"I’m just saying. He could be some creepy murderer for all you know. He could have magic!"
A flush crept across the back of Arthur’s neck. He turned fully to reply. "I don’t care, alright? Why are you still talking to me?"
Merlin ignored the last part, raising his eyebrows in mock surprise. "You would date a murderer?"
A You've Got Mail AU in which Merlin owns a magic shop, Arthur works for his father in politics and they cannot stand each other. EmrysHimself and SirKnight, on the other hand, have struck up a burgeoning romance...

Merlin is sneaking off to see a girl. Arthur's handling it very well.
That is, apart from these weird flowers he keeps coughing up. . .

Summary
Chris wants his dad. He wants his bed. But he can't have those yet, and he and Dad never really text because if Dad’s not working they’re usually together or one of them is too busy to text, so texting Dad feels weird, but Buck… He can text Buck.
do you think it was a good thing for Pandora to keep hope in the box?
The little dots pop up immediately, which Chris wasn’t expecting.
I’m not sure. I do know that it technically wasn’t a box, it was a pithos, which is like a big jar they used for storage. Box is a mistranslation, but it became so widely used that we all just roll with it now.
It’s a very classic Buck response. The dots keep going.
On that note, “hope” isn’t an exact translation either. Another way that people translate it is “deceptive expectation.” Hope isn’t necessarily deceptive, and we tend to use it in a positive way, so it’s maybe not the BEST word to use, but I guess in English we don’t have a better one for “deceptive expectation” and “hope” sounds pithier.
Deceptive expectation. Huh.

Summary
Eddie climbs onto the bed. They sit side by side, legs extended, two letter L’s protruding off the page. Instead of pressing play like Eddie is expecting, Buck laughs.
“What?” Eddie asks, an instinctive smile caressing his lips.
Buck grips his jaw, thumb brushing over his teeth before he bites at the broad nail, stifling. “Just—did you ever see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?”
Eddie nods. “Gene Wilder.”
“That’s the one,” Buck chuckles around his thumb, then lets it slide free. “You know the grandparents?”
Then Eddie’s laughing too. “Jesus,” he says on an exhale.
“I’m just saying,” says Buck, still giggling. “I’ve seen our future, and it’s bright.”
Or: God created the world in seven days. It only takes Eddie six to surreptitiously move into Buck’s house.

So maybe Buck actually is in love with his straight best friend. It's cool, though. He knows Eddie gets it, even if Maddie doesn't.

Summary
“Aren’t you gonna tell me all about the Mississippi river?” Eddie asks, his voice thick with warmth, almost tender.
Buck narrows his eyes. “Do you wanna hear facts about the river?”
“Buck, if you have things to say, I want to hear them.”
The sun doesn’t break through the clouds, but it’s like the sky brightens, for just a moment, burnishing highlights in Eddie’s hair and finding new flecks of color in his eyes. Buck feels heat travel down the back of his neck.
or: Two firefighters. Two thousand miles. One realization they probably should’ve had a long time ago.

Summary
“I would like you to know me,” Caleb says.
It feels like a secret. Like the darkest part of him cracked open; all his months and years of hiding, of wrapping his arms and scratching the bindings, of not loving, not loving anything but an unkillable cat — it’s unraveling around him. He feels naked. He feels the way he did the first time Pumat Sol spelled him clean.
“I find that — I would like you to know me,” he says, again.
