Summary
“So that freak is your little boyfriend. Bunch of fucking flamers.”
The rising tension in the air sent a shockwave through Kel’s body. But the adrenaline coursing through his veins had him on a high, and instead of just backing off and leaving well enough alone, he got right up in the captain’s business and did the stupidest thing he could have done. But damn, if it wasn’t satisfying. He looked him right in the eye and spat directly on his face.
Or,
After winning his way to the varsity basketball championship, Kel is confronted by an opposing team member about his relationship with Sunny. Things end terribly. But he doesn't care - he'd gladly end up in the emergency room again if it meant standing up for the one he loves most. Still sucks to have to go there, though.

Summary
"Fine! If you care so much, then you can just take it!"
In a fit of blind rage, Kel lost all sense and pushed the guitar into Hero, shoving him out of the treehouse as hard as he could. It happened in an instant. Hero let out a yell of alarm, and Kel watched in horror as he disappeared from where he stood in the doorway. The sound of a loud crunch echoed through the humid summer air. Then silence. Deafening silence.
What the hell had he just done?

Summary
“God damn it, just listen to me! You probably don’t even care, do you!? You think you’re so above it all. Well news flash, Kelsey! You aren’t the only person in this goddamn fucking house! And you’d better get used to it!”
In the heat of her vexation, Mrs. Rodruigez had forgotten she was still holding a plate. But now, in a moment of clarity, she seemed to sense the object in her hand, and did something that Kel would never, ever forget. She threw it right at him, missing his head by a mere inch.
Or,
Kel's strained relationship with his mother finally comes to a head in the worst way possible.

Summary
August fifteenth. The date was circled on Kel’s calendar in annoyingly bright red marker, surrounded by exclamation points, stars, and smiles. Finally, after almost a year of failed plans and haphazard preparations, Kel was going to head into the city for the first time, and see Sunny again. Sometimes, he hated how much he loved Sunny. It drove him crazy.
Or,
Kel has been head over heels for Sunny for a long time. But, over the course of the year after the truth was revealed, his feelings somehow managed to get even bigger. Now, heading into the city, Kel is going to spend time with Sunny for the first time since then. He's terrified, but hopeful. Little does he know that Sunny feels just the same.

Summary
Kel was not one to pride himself on making the best decisions. So, finding himself panicking while locked inside his closet with a clunky wall mounted phone in his lap, all while daring himself to dial Sunny’s number, was not entirely unusual. What had prompted him to be there? Now that was a much more interesting story.
Or,
Kel has had a crush on Sunny for a long time. Now that things have settled down, and Junior prom is rolling around, Kel decides (Or, rather, is forced) to take a chance ask out Sunny. Little did he know of the night he was in for, in the best ways possible.

Summary
As the final chord rang out across the hall, strong and harmonious, the clapping began – also strong, but not quite as harmonious. Sunny took the violin away from his neck, holding it and the bow in the same hand, and faced forwards. Mari stepped up next to him, radiant as always in her black dress, beaming at the crowd. As they always did, she offered out a hand and he took it before they bowed together, bringing the applause to a deafening volume.
The lights started to dim, and the audience became visible. Sunny scanned the crowd, looking for four people. He knew they wouldn’t be there, even if he hoped for it a little. Or a lot. It was just force of habit by this point. It had been a long time since he had been with those four.
An AU where the recital went well. Maybe too well.
