As the adrenaline wears off, he starts to feel the pain from all his injuries and a burning in all his limbs from being pushed far beyond their limits. “Flame… I can’t,” he finally says quietly, forcing himself to make eye contact and smile weakly.
Flame stops and tilts his head down. “What do you mean, you can’t?”
Wemmbu swallows, which hurts. “I’m out of resources, Flame. I have nothing.”

The ghost scoffs, and then Nom is alone again, to brush the crumbs off the table and stand with a sigh.
