“So–so you told them we’re together?” Dream asks with a no bullshit tone. George’s eyes leave Dream’s, flitting to the pink elephant on his end table. “Why?”
“They–they were nagging me, Dream, and–and when I said I was dating someone and my mum assumed it was you…” George trails off with a shrug, scrunching his face at his own words. “I don’t know, Dream."
“But George,” Dream says his name with stress. “Now they think we’re together and we have to tell them the truth.”

“You know, I like to think of him as a plane. You see one in the sky and it feels like you’ll always be able to see it. Then you blink and it’s gone. But you knew it was there because it left a trail of smoke behind. It takes a while for the smoke to fade, but it doesn’t disappear, it’s always there reminding you that the plane was,” George said. It was difficult to smile when he thought of Dream and what he left behind.
Or, George and Dream are childhood friends who learn just how much they care about each other when Dream is diagnosed with cancer.

“Dinner,” Dream reminds him, it’s the last thing he wants to do. “You can kiss me later.”
George groans and presses his forehead against his, breathes fast. “I want to kiss you now.”
Dream laughs, a little mesmerized. “You’re so needy.”
“I’m allowed to be needy with you,” George states. “I’m allowed to.”
Dream knows what he means when he says he’s allowed to. They’re both like this with each other, obsessive, like the world would stop spinning if they don’t get enough.
Dream and George go back to each other every single time.

George nods. His throat feels constricted. Dream’s arms are warm around him, keeping him steady; not letting him fall.
He thinks of the hard kitchen tile, and sharp edges out of the counters around them. He thinks of going crashing into them, concussing himself or blacking out against the cold floor. But Dream said he won’t let that happen, and George thinks that he doesn’t know how not to trust him anymore.
Or, Dream and George dance in the kitchen and talk about love.

“Want you,” is all he hears, but he probably heard it wrong. His brain is barely working, all groggy from waking up and immediately stumbling out of bed to head downstairs. “Miss you.”
Sapnap is sure he heard that clearly, and he blinks once, a little phased by how needy George sounds. Sapnap doesn’t really know the implications of it — He just knows that he rarely gets to hear George like that, but he supposes when he does, it’s always next to Dream.
It takes Sapnap a while to realize he's been watching Dream and George fall in love more and more every day.
