Summary
Erik is the general of a small kingdom on the outskirts of Genosha. Shaw’s army invades his lands, loots his home, and kills his mother, wife, and daughter. In a bid to take revenge, Erik — with the help of rival Queen Emma Frost and her army — attacks the Genoshan capital. Erik kills Shaw.
Among the palace loot is Shaw’s harem and its occupants. Erik’s soldiers drag in a young omega with blue eyes and red lips, apparently Shaw’s favourite. Intending to kill the Omega just as Shaw killed his own family, Erik orders his soldiers to leave the omega with him. But he soon learns that the omega, Charles, is also one of Shaw’s victims — that Charles, a lord’s son, was sold to Shaw by his stepfather and kept captive against his will.
Once the anger drains from his system, Erik hands Charles a pouch of gold coins and the reins of a horse, telling him to go home. But Charles refuses, unable to return burdened with the reputation of being Shaw’s bed-warmer. With nowhere else to go, Charles accepts Erik’s offer of shelter, and a slow friendship begins to grow between them.
