Summary
So that was where he was. On the bus, being stared at by strangers, hating every second of it. He couldn’t wait to get out of there. The air was stuffy since it was raining outside, and all the residual humidity clung to the windows. On the outside, raindrops were sliding down, and his eyes traced their trails on their way. Gosh, this bus ride was taking forever.
“Pardon me, is this seat next to you unoccupied?”, he heard a slightly posh voice say next to him. He looked up, only to see a pair of hazel eyes looking back at him, full of expectancy. Crow’s feet, Crowley’s brain added helpfully. The raindrops were not so interesting anymore.
Here be a meet-cute on the bus.

Summary
It was the oysters. It had to be. Never had he felt such things before. Never did he have the urge to do as he wished to do now. It was foreign, this feeling. Like a strange longing, a twisting feeling in his chest.

The Apocawasn't has come and gone and Aziraphale decides that, really. Spending every day together yet not living together when they both clearly want to is just ridiculous.

Summary
"First," said Gale. "Do not kill any thinking creatures in Waterdeep unless you must to protect yourself or you have my express permission."
As Gale spoke, he could feel the weight of his words sinking into the person sitting across from him. It was like casting a spell, but took no effort. Astarion had been staring hollowly into his goblet of blood, but at this he made a faintly interested noise. As if the rule were novel and he was considering the shape of it.
"Second, you will obey me in all things," said Gale. There didn't feel like there was any honest way of softening that. Astarion didn't make any sound at all.
"Third, do not leave the tower without permission." Astarion made another speculative noise, considering this one too. But then his shoulders hunched and his eyes skittered down, as if he didn't want to look at what was about to happen.
"Fourth," Gale said, and paused. He started with some context: "There is a tressym upstairs."
Astarion's head twitched. He looked up at Gale, blinking, startled. He had the air of someone who had been bracing for a blow and instead had just been handed a balloon animal.
"A what?" he asked.

Summary
“Ah,” Gale startled, “Forgive me. I may have had a little too much to drink, I’m afraid.”
The stranger chuckled, and the sound slid like silk down Gale’s spine.
“What’s the occasion, may I ask?”
“The worst day of my life,” Gale replied, louder than he meant to. He raised his glass in a mock toast and tossed the last of the bourbon back.

Summary
Astarion is near the docks when he feels Cazador's compulsion on him snap. He doesn't think twice. He just takes the next available ship out of Baldur's Gate. Its destination: The City of Splendors. Waterdeep.
*
Gale takes back the glass, now empty, and then seems to fidget a little. “There is something I wanted to get your opinion on- but it can wait until you’ve recovered. You don’t look well at all- no offense meant, of course.”
“None taken,” Astarion says sweetly. “Please go on. Tell me exactly what it is about my appearance that you find lacking.”

Summary
The vampire's eyes are wide and round, full of amazement. They dart wildly around the sights below, as if trying to see everything at once. The lights of the city reflect upon his face, soft shadows dancing across his elegant features. The very tips of his fangs are visible from his parted lips.
The radiance of the city pales in comparison.

Two months after the brain falls, Baldur's Gate has picked up most of the pieces. The heroes that saved Faerûn have been there through most of it, helping the city get back on its feet. But now it's time to move on. Old lives and families to return to. Gale is going back to his tower in Waterdeep, back to the quiet, back to being alone; or at least, that was the plan. But plans change.
This is a story about falling in love.
