Summary
Dunk and Rafe find a talking bird who claims to be a lord’s son. It says its name is Lyonel.
Rafe thinks they ought to sell the bird, but Dunk wants to keep it. He thinks it has pretty yellow feathers streaked with black, and it is small enough to fit in the palm of his hand. It can’t take that much food to feed it.
Rafe eventually relents, and the bird stays.

Summary
Dunk can talk to animals. He can talk to horses, rats, birds–even the lizards that slither along the walls–and they can talk back.
No one believes him, of course. Ser Arlan had looked at him funny when he did, and sometimes gave him a good smack on the ear if he was caught talking to Thunder or Sweetfoot.
But really, he can talk to them.
