Summary
Spy loses his vision during battle, but he still has a job to do. He tries to sap the Engineer's nest nearby, failing horrifically, but he doesn't die immediately. Instead, he accidentally makes an agreement with said Engineer, who offers to help him navigate the world while blind.
OR
Spy is blind, tries to hide it from everyone, but at some point both the RED Engineer and RED Sniper find out, and both manage to wrangle him into accepting some amount of help.

For one, fleeting, beautiful moment, Caine feels powerful.
He's large and angry and holding his disgusting, hateful humans down against the wall, and screaming at them to understand; to comprehend why they would torment him like this. He's in charge, and they're trembling under his fingers and, with the sickly joy that's filling his avatar, he's feeling something other than his own overwhelming failure of an existence for a hot burning moment.
He shouldn't be feeling anything at all.
But - the next moment - he's small, stuttering out the beginnings of an apology or a plea and they're looking up at him with confused terror and he's looking down at them with scared eyes and that slimy glee in his hitbox curdles to shame because he was broken.
And then he's back in his box.
His box that his programmers had locked him in years ago.--
What if deleting Caine didn't put him in the recycling bin, but instead his prison from before the circus?

He's… starting to think maybe there's something he's missing. A line of code. A piece of dialogue. A snippet of something that will make everything in the world make sense! He's very good at debugging wonky programs, after all. Surely there's a way to fix this one!
He doesn't know. Or maybe he does. He knows what the humans truly want. He'll never truly understand why, why can't they love what he does, what he is, because if they don't love what he does then they don't love him-
