“Careful,” Joy leaned closer to her and lowered her voice. “You might jinx our shift.”
“That- That can't be a real thing.” Emma giggled nervously.
Joy shrugged and pulled back. “It probably isn't but most of the people who work here seem to believe it.”
Before the conversation could progress, Joy was pulled away to a case.
The banter had eased any and all lingering anxiety about the shift. Emma let out a soft giggle and shook her head at the thought of a jinx.
Jinxes weren't real.
