When the kindergarten their daughter goes to hosts a fall fest, Roman meets single dad Jon Moxley. Or at least that’s what he thinks Jon is. They hit it off well and grow a friendship until that one night turns into a ‘make it or break it’ situation.
Roman is torn between hoping he can save his relationship and growing more and more feelings for Moxley. When he finally comes to terms with the fact that there is no future in his current relationship, it is revealed that Jon's baby mama is still in his life. Because of that Roman throws the idea to reveal his feelings over board and tries to end their relationship. Jon does not take this lightly and reveals that Roman's assumptions may not be the whole truth ...

Jey has already pulled away from him and is dragging him into the place, but his eyes are still fixated on him. That’s certainly Roman. He’d know him from anywhere. He’s holding his shoes up and not paying any attention to Dean at all, and it might mean that he’s leaving already. His eyes widen, but then he’s pulled further into the room, and gets greeted by the soon-to-be married couple, which effectively distracts him.
“Been so long since we’ve last seen you,” Naomi is saying, voice laced with concern. He’d always appreciated her. “Where were you?”
He thought that after those six months, he’d be ready to answer that question, but he finds himself not knowing what the right words are. “I just needed some time for myself,” is what he settles for, hoping that it’d be enough.
