Summary
Hatake Kakashi knows how to handle missions. People are an entirely unknown variable. Normally, it wouldn’t be such a big deal but one Umino Iruka makes Kakashi want to try. Except they can’t have a single conversation that doesn’t end with Kakashi pissing off the teacher. Thus Kakashi has started a notebook where he writes down things he learns about Iruka.
He wasn’t expecting Iruka to find it.

Megumi doesn't know what possesses him, but there's only so much that he could do in this situation. Fuck. It’s barely even 600 yen.
And he opts for sliding the food back over in the guys direction. What is he really gonna lose? This school sucks absurd amounts of money out of everyone anyways, let this guy have dinner.

“I think it’s perfectly acceptable that I’m untrusting of a demon,” Megumi responds, cutting him off.
The grin Sukuna gives him in return simultaneously makes his blood run cold and lights a fire in his veins. “One of the many things I appreciate about you.”
Megumi pauses, thinking, wondering if he really can trust a demon of all things, let alone one claiming to have been following him and protecting him for years. Still, he can’t deny the string of coincidences that suddenly make sense, and he certainly can’t ignore the fact that this demon did just protect him. “If you really are my guardian demon or whatever,” he says, stepping out of the alley and onto the street, “then get back to work.”
Megumi can’t see the demon’s face but he can hear the amusement in his tone when he answers with: “Anything you wish.”
