There can’t be a child in all the seven kingdoms who hasn’t been told stories about how they not only wed brother to sister, but do so in spite of how they present. For a dragon is neither one thing nor the other, as the saying goes, and neither are their masters.

Summary
The pains came upon him in the early hours of the morning, while mist still blanketed the ground and the birds stayed quiet in their nests. A twinge in the gut, as if his bowels were twisting as they were wont to do before tourneys and talking with nobility. It was easy to ignore at first – Dunk was used to hurts. Smacks to the back of the head, hits to the jaw, aches and pains of training and cuts and broken bones. Pain was familiar, comforting even, in its frequency.
