Summary
Takemura Goro has been outcast and shunned from Arasaka, being discarded after his use has run out. His friendship with V has all been destroyed after her betrayal leading to a full on attack on Arasaka Tower. The Relic has since been removed, leaving V lonely and grieving, having Johnny Silverhand ripped from her after bonding with him. Rather than seeking glory, she now seeks a cure and chose to live the rest of her short life in quiet, relative peace.
Takemura is now stranded in Night City, with no funds to his name, no way to head back to his home land, and not the slightest idea on what his next step in life is. Having no other options, he must now turn to his friend turned enemy for help. Despite their new, heavy animosity towards one another, V and Takemura partner up once again, as she teaches this old dog new tricks on how to survive in the streets of Night City, as well as showing him that his new found freedom is not as bad as he thinks it is.

Summary
V is able to keep his body, survive, and use cyberware. However, it comes with a cost, he is basically owned by the FIA, just like songbird. He is forced to work as an active agent, traveling the world as a piece in Meyers' political game. As his story continues he is plagued by psychological anguish, physical effects from removing the relic, and the question of if he can ever, truly, be free.

In 2000, Leon Scott Kennedy infiltrates an abandoned Umbrella faculty to find a creature unlike anyone has seen before. With the body of a creature not of this time and the intelligence of a human, Special Agent Kennedy makes the decision to not only keep the creature but train it to become one of the most dangerous weapons in the fight against Umbrella. What he doesn't know is that the creature he rescues isn't just a random research test subject, but someone who is like him: Lost, alone, and unsure of what the future holds for themselves.
Together, they will form a bond stronger than any human-animal team duo, fighting against the people who changed them into who they are. But fighting other monsters is only part of life, as both find their way through society and what most considered a 'normal' life when they aren't on missions. While the canon story isn't much different than before, this story is from the creature's POV, a new perspective on one of Capcom's most beloved franchises.
