By the end of it, she feels lighter. Despite the strange choice in venting companion (or, at least strange to those around her), it’s like a weight off her shoulders. She doesn’t know what, if anything, Elijah could even do in all this, except maybe curtail his siblings’ impulsive actions, like earlier with Rebekah. But it’s a relief, she realizes. A tremendous relief. That he’s back, that he’s okay. That he’s with her, talking to her now.
