For the prompt:
Stubborn and dutiful as he is, Javert goes to work despite a really bad fever. Needless to say this is a bad combination, and (eventually) he becomes delirious and collapses.
I’d love to see this take place during the Madeleine-era, so Javert can collapse in front of Monsieur le Maire, who of course insists on taking care of him. That in turn would give Javert’s fever-flushed mind more than enough opportunity to admit to his usually well-repressed feelings for Valjean/Madeleine, and things can, ahem, ‘progress’ from there. Your call on how far: anything from kissing to ‘it’ works for me.
Whether the fever is due to illness or injury doesn’t matter, as long as it’s nothing icky or lethal please! I just want a good reason to get the dear Inspector all hot ‘n bothered, so he can lose some of that infuriating self-control of his :D.
Any ‘verse welcome, canon or (modern) AU, although I will admit that personally I’m partial to Stage!Javert (Quast!Javert if you want to make me reaaaaally happy). Something about that arrogant pride just begs to be broken. And there is the ponytail, of course ;p Would be nice, but like I said, any 'verse is welcome.

Summary
When the zoo finds itself in the path of the hurricane, Ed and his panther find themselves sheltering in place with the strange keeper and his twenty flamingos. Ed's been fascinated since he first saw Stede, but will proximity spark something more between them?
“Arthur, where are y— Ed!”
It sends a thrill through Ed to hear Stede’s tone change from its previous exasperated tone. It shouldn’t. Stede sounds like that about everyone. Stede sounds like that about the slightly dry tuna mayonnaise sandwiches at the monthly meeting.
“Hey.”
Stede is wearing his zoo-issued polo, of course, the logo new and crisp, barely out of the plastic wrapper, and his khaki shorts are pretty standard, but his wellies are nearly the same pink as the flamboyance of flamingos trailing behind him, with added sparkle.
Ed doesn’t smile when he sees them. The corners of his mouth might turn up, but that’s different. He’s been away for a month and he’s missed anyone being so inescapably Stede, with his flamingos gathered around him loosely, and lovingly eyeing the feed bucket he’s carrying.

Edward Teach knows sin and guilt. He's got success and fame, a life that most would envy professionally, but his personal life is another matter entirely. He's shit at relationships, shit at finding happiness, in general, Ed's always been a bit shit. He knows he's floating through life, and eventually floats back into the same city he went to college. The same city he once crushed a sweet guy all for the sake of winning a bet.
And meets Father Stede Bonnet, a man who seems to see into his guilt-laden soul and offers to wash his sins clean.
