Dean was entranced by the way Cas handled the fish with mercy, peered upon it with reverence. As he did so, he said, "Hello, dear little creature. You are a being of such elegance and beauty. I am honored that you will nourish my family. Thank you, and I'm sorry. May God rest your soul."
Dean lost it. He cackled and giggled, and felt so much more joy in that single moment then he had in all the months Cas had been gone. Because it was really Cas, he was really back, he was right here beside Dean, just like he'd always been. He was exuding kindness and care, in true Cas fashion, and it was amplified, because when Cas got high, he got even more devastatingly sweet.
"You feeling it, buddy?"
Cas turned to him, confusion written on his face. When realization dawned on him, he started laughing, too.
