Summary
Wise had spiraled them through FTL transit until Gonggong’s route measurements were useless, then dropped them in a stretch of interstellar space Sedna had never seen before. She’d been right about him from the beginning, from the moment she’d watched him whispering with SIMP at the Kingdom’s threshold and felt her suspicion settle into certainty. She’d tracked the route. She’d assigned Gonggong to count. She’d prepared for exactly this. And Wise had prepared for her preparation.
Stars, that was smart. She hated that it was smart.
Or; The dwarf planets need to find their way home.

Summary
Enough open questions to justify one more conversation. Enough gaps in the plan to fill one more evening, if SIMP turned them over the right way and kept her focus on what was left.
She’d gotten good at finding gaps when she needed to.
Or; SIMP tells herself she's visiting OTS to review contingencies; OTS lets her believe it for exactly as long as she needs to.

Summary
(He twisted the rose gold ring on his left ring finger, the one Jupiter had given him after their first billion years, had kissed stars knew how many times, the one that reminded him of Jupiter’s hair when it caught the light, and pressed his thumb hard against the band until the olive skin beneath went white. I love you, he thought, but there was no answer and—)
He’d stayed. He shouldn’t have.
Or; Instead of leaving on SIMP's assigned mission, Saturn has been sitting in the same spot for three days.

Summary
But Neptune looked up and his whole face transformed from a half-smile into one far more brilliant. A deep dimple appeared in his left cheek, his eyes lighting up, and his humming broke off into a giddy laugh. "Oh! Saturn! I didn't see you there! What a coinky-dink, that we come across each other all the way out here!" He threw his hands out and spun in a quick, full circle, the motion sending the rock tumbling away before he caught it within his gravity, stalling it midway between them. His curls bounced with the movement, and his scarf spiraled behind him like a comet tail. "I'm singing to Guillermo the Second."
"Guillermo the Second?”
Or; Saturn takes a moment for himself; Neptune interrupts in the best way possible.

Summary
Erebus folded his arms over his chest. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Of course you don't. You're very mysterious, Planet W.” Neptune beamed at him. Erebus just rolled his eyes. "The one who spent billions of years alone in the darkness!" He tossed the asteroids back into the line, gravity strengthening briefly as he pushed them into place. "But I really like to think I can be perceptive. It's one of my many talents. Right up there with juggling and also remembering all my moons' names. And Uranus’s!” His eyes narrowed, an expression off enough that Erebus wanted to look away. “And what I am perceptively percepting is that you want to talk to him, and you're too scared to do it."
"I'm not scared of Uranus. And is that a word?”
Or; In which the ice giants have several much-needed conversations.

Summary
"There was something off putting about the expression, something too wolfy about his grin or maybe it was the intense look in his eyes. His pupils were blown wide, slightly shaking from side to side with the chaotic buzzing energy that had been present ever since he woke up. He was just excited. That’s why he couldn’t sit still, couldn't sleep the night before, couldn’t eat the meals that Saturn had prepared for him. He was just excited."
