“Is she bothering you?” asks Baizhu as he sweeps into the room. “Changsheng, are you bothering him?” He stills before the medicine cabinet, fingers curled around one of the apothecary drawer handles. “Children, the both of you,” he muses.
Gui’s throat is dry. Or, maybe that’s the love thing. It doesn’t matter either way because it’s something that will go unmentioned, unnoticed, and forever ignored. He clears his throat. “I’m trying to work, and she’s in the way.”

Summary
Changsheng regards him with his own cool magenta eyes. Baizhu’s always wondered if the difficulty he has lying to her is due to those eyes, or just her uniquely abrasive charm. In the private cocoon of his hands, with only Changsheng to hear, Baizhu says, “To marry is to make a widower of Gui.”
Snakes can’t roll their eyes. But Changsheng has had centuries to work on an alternative; she rolls her head in an arc with a small flick of her tongue at the finish. “Needlessly dramatic.”
Baizhu gets engaged, a head cold, and a blowjob. More or less all at once.

Summary
Day 22 of Whumpril: Infection. Days, Prompts, and Characters were chosen at random. Only doing half of the days.
For this one I got "Infection" and Baizhu.
Thinking it's just another one of his bad days, Baizhu ignores all the signs that something may actually be seriously wrong with him. However, there isn't but so much he can brush off before he collapses while on the way to visit a patient.
