I wrote this for the Souyo Secret Santa exchange for junbi - the prompt was "souyo secretly dating so Yosuke is dropping Narukami off at his place and they kiss under the street lamp pole near his house at night while it snows." I hope you enjoy your gift! I haven't written anything in a long time so it was nice to dive into this fandom again.

As I hurtled along the pavement, my eyes fixed to Google Maps, I barely had time to think about the fact that in approximately one minute, I was going to be face-to-face with my ex-boyfriend for the first time in almost six months. More importantly, it meant I could pretend – both to Oliver Blackwood and to myself – that any unattractively sweaty, out-of-breath shakiness was due to having run the five minutes between the tube stop and the pub where we were meeting. No, actually, that was more than a little embarrassing. Perhaps I’d tell Oliver it was ten minutes – although he was the kind of considerate wanker who’d have checked my route in advance to make sure the pub wasn’t too far out of my way, so he’d know I was lying, but would be too well-mannered to point it out.

A doctor of mine suggested purchasing a journal, but I’ve proven to be more egotistical than I initially thought. Selfishly, I like the idea that all of this won’t simply be shoved into a drawer or a box or an attic someplace, eaten up by dust and time. I like knowing that someone else is on the other side of these, living and breathing and loving. I hope you stay that way for a long, long time, Alex. (And that you learn sometimes to be a bit selfish, too.)
