Summary
Five years ago, Remus Lupin survived a car crash that left him with a permanent limp, chronic pain and a complicated relationship with his own body.
At 23, he's stuck. His hip hurts, his confidence is non-existent and he's convinced he'll never feel comfortable in his skin again.
Then his best friend Lily Evans bullies him into swimming at her parents' leisure centre.
Unfortunately, the leisure centre comes with Sirius Black: lifeguard, owner of the most irritating smile Remus has ever seen and far too handsome for his own good.

Summary
After the war stole everything, his friends, his purpose, his place.
Remus Lupin learns what it means to be left behind. Haunted by the memory of betrayal, weighed down by guilt he never earned but still carries, he moves through the years like a ghost in his own skin. There are nightmares. There are full moons. There is silence. And then Sirius Black escapes.
But when he returns to Hogwarts at Albus’s request, and a boy with James's face and Lily’s eyes looks up at him with quiet trust, something stirs.
What follows is not forgiveness. Not at first. It’s fear. And fury. And the long, aching road of unlearning what pain taught him to believe.
This is the story of what it means to survive the war no one talks about.

Summary
For one stupid, humiliating second, Sirius thinks he might cry at Peter Pettigrew’s wedding.
Instead he smiles.
It comes out wrong. Small and crooked and a little too sad to be convincing.
Because that’s the thing, isn’t it? Remus says things like that–says them with those grave brown eyes and that maddening certainty, like loving Sirius is the easiest fact in the world–and all Sirius can think is – why not this?
Why not what everyone else is doing?
Why not him?
or the one where Sirius has an existential crisis at Peter's wedding, because he thinks that Remus doesn't want to marry him.

Summary
“Black’s been in love with you since he was sixteen. Use it.”
Remus nearly dropped his mug.
“That’s absurd,” he said at last.
“No,” Moody said. “It’s useful.”—
In an effort to stop Sirius Black from arguing with every single Order meeting, Moody weaponizes the fact that Sirius is still catastrophically in love with Remus Lupin.
Remus thinks the entire plan is ridiculous.
Unfortunately, it works.Bookmarked by tuthemoon
