Summary
When Ollie first met Malcolm, he’d been starstruck.
Malcolm was everything he wanted to be; sharp, competent, and completely untouchable. He was everything politics should be. He gave Ollie faith in the institutions whilst gutting their leaders in front of him. Yes, starstruck was the only word for it - aside from possibly ‘enamoured’, or ‘please-can-you-bollock-that-minister-one-more-time-I-want-to-have-private-thoughts-about-it-later’.
He didn’t know much about Malcolm Tucker, and from his research it seemed that no one did. It seemed he’d just arrived into politics a fully-formed, God-like sociopath, like a prophet - or more accurately, anti-Christ. It was fascinating.
He did know, however, that Julius - a man Malcolm particularly despised, in a way Ollie sensed was not strictly professional - called him ‘Malc’.

Summary
After the last straw finally breaks Dan, he decides it's time to move out, once and for all.
Which is fine. Herbert can get by all on his own, thank you very much, he doesn't need Daniel.
Of course, this isn't true, and their reunion turns out to be so much more than either of them expected.

“Come now Daniel, let's not wallow in our losses, perhaps this is a blessing in disguise.” West said, as they stood over the body of Dan’s third dead girlfriend this month.
All natural causes, of course.
