Summary
“This year, you’re going to be my little cockhound!” Master exclaims, eyes glued to Holes, gauging his reaction, “You’re going to crawl around, stick out your little tongue, bark for cock, and make sure everyone at the party uses your pretty mouth.”
Holes’ stomach drops.
That's impossible.
Even if he can theoretically blow every single one of the nearly hundred guests invited before the end of the party, which is doubtful, many are likely to not be interested at all and refuse to use him, no matter how prettily he begs.
Basically, he’s fucked.
He tries not to let his worry show on his face. Tells himself that this is all a game for Master to get a reaction out of him. Holes takes a breath to steel himself and sticks his tongue out like a good dog. He may be doomed to fail this task, but Master will not be able to say he did not try.
Master reaches out his hand and lifts Holes’ chin until their eyes meet. “If you fail, Holes, I’m going to plug and seal one of your holes for the entire year.”
What the fuck?
Holes flinches, cursing himself internally as he tries to regain his composure. All he can do is try his best to avoid finding out what his master means.

"But my interest is in the design of people. What makes them tick? What holds them together? All too often, it’s one little thing. In architecture they call it a keystone. The one stone that keeps the entire arch from collapsing. The weak point. And I’m very, very good at finding those weak points."
Jack nominates Skitter for the Nine and the consequences thereof.

Parting the Clouds 1 -- The Infection by Derin
Fandoms: Animorphs - Katherine A. Applegate

Summary
Parting the Clouds is an Animorphs AU in which Cassie is recast as a rationalist. It is inspired by works such as Luminosity and Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality.
In this installment, five ordinary American teenagers take a shortcut through a construction site on their way home from the mall, looking for an easy way home. What they find is a wounded alien who, in his desperation, gives them a gift and a warning. The gift -- to become any animal they touch. The warning -- that their planet is under attack. And they, five untrained kids, are the only people in a position to protect it.
Help will come -- eventually. But until then, it's up to the Animorphs, and they'd better come to grips with aliens in general, their new enemy in particular, and their new morphing powers fast. The freedom of the world is at stake.

Summary
This is the first half of chapter 137 of Worth the Candle, and for that reason, contains spoilers for that work. The difference between this version and the canonical version is that almost all instances of gendering (typically male for dwarves in the Anglish of Aerb) have been replaced by the more accurate Groglir versions. See chapter notes for translations. I think this reads worse than the canonical version, but if you like weird pronouns, this might be the version for you.

AU where Ozai is even less tactful than in the show, and things go horribly wrong. The Fire Lord orders him to kill both of his children, instead of just his firstborn son.
Needless to say, this doesn’t fly well with Azula and Zuko.
A "Azula and Zuko Get Adopted By the Water Tribe" story but if it was a slow burn.

Summary
The world is dangerous, now more than ever. Jon knows this better than anyone. He made it that way. He knows it's a risk every time he leaves the relative safety of the house, no matter what he brings along to protect himself. Especially if he goes out alone. But it can't be helped, sometimes, and he's known all along something would get him eventually.
The funny thing, though- he always sort of thought it would be the monsters. He should have remembered: at this point, he's the worst of them all.
Or: A lot of people are, to put it lightly, not very happy about this whole "end of the world" business. Really, it's a miracle Jon has made it this long without any of them finding out who to blame.

Summary
For the first time in his life, Martin was perfectly alone. He hated how comforting he found it. It was like a quilt, almost, heavy and cold, never quite acclimating to your body heat, but the weight of it was almost… grounding. Holding you down and wrapping you up until you can’t hear or see the world around you, and you close your eyes and sink into the cold darkness of it, and for a second; it’s like the world outside doesn’t even exist.
That’s what the Lonely was like.

Summary
Peter Lukas’s words have been gnawing against Jon’s skull since the moment they had arrived at Daisy’s cottage. There’s a lot from the Lonely that Jon wouldn’t take back and does not regret, but ever since the mere suggestion had left Lukas’s mouth, Jon has feared that he and Martin do not know each other as well as they sometimes pretend.
Or, Jon and Martin get to know each other, and the tension finally breaks.

Summary
Or, Martin gets accustomed to reciprocation.
---
Jon speaks again. "Is there anything I can do?"
Two-plus decades of self-abnegation bubble up in Martin's throat, threatening to spill over, to reassure Jon that everything's okay, not to worry, Martin's just fine. But the words die on his tongue. Maybe there was a thread of compulsion in Jon's question. Maybe it's the after-effects of that glorious, already-fading moment of SIGHT, when all the fog had gone out of Martin's head for the first time in months and Jon had stood before him, real and true and unafraid. Or maybe it's nothing supernatural at all. Maybe it's just ordinary human trust.
