So this work was inspired by a post I saw on Tumblr which said how ironic it was that Oscar's favourite tennis player is Jannik Sinner and Carlos Sainz's favourite tennis player is Carlos Alcaraz and they are also rivals like the former... I was stuck on how to write this but ended up completing it somehow.. I have written Carlitos and Jannik as friends here and I will not accept anyone else saying that they are not friends 😤😤

After the immortal army has been defeated, Lancelot realises that he's perhaps a little more injured than he first thought. And, after finally crashing from the adrenaline rush he's been surviving on since being separated from Lancelot in the forest, Gwaine realises that he's perhaps hanging on by a thinner thread than he'd initially believed. Luckily for them, Merlin – despite being thrown against a stone wall – is significantly more at ease than usual and is there to help them through it.

"I..." Merlin began, trailing off. Arthur waited. "I, um... You see..." He tried again. Arthur felt another stab of resentment rise as his shoulders seemed to slump in resignation. What had Gwaine done to him? He was about to suggest Merlin speak to him alone when Gwaine's expression went completely blank before turning to look at the prince.
"Ah," He winced and offered a dazzling smile "Hello, your majesty. You caught us at a bad time."
"Have I?" Arthur asked coolly. Merlin blinked - looking Gwaine over warily.
"Yes," The knight continued and gestured between himself and Merlin. "We were just about to have some amazing sex. Right in that alcove actually," He said, nodding a bit towards a nook in the wall behind Arthur. "So, if this isn't anything urgent..." He trailed off. Arthur stared.
He... He had misheard, right? Definitely. For a moment he thought Gwaine had said... No. Absolutely not.
Or
Gwaine learns that Merlin has magic. Arthur learns that Gwaine is hopelessly in love with Merlin.

Summary
Gwaine had gotten him a flower, which didn't sound like much, but when you added in that he'd snuck into the royal gardens to gather one for him, it made it much more sentimental. A kingdom's royal gardens are tenderly cared for, filled with the best flowers that only royalty received as compliments of beauty.
There was no doubt in Merlin's mind that Gwaine was entirely aware of all that.

After being cared for by Merlin while he recovers, Gwaine finds himself with feelings for the servant and is making foreign romantic gestures to court him. He also finds himself extremely protective of Merlin when two knights suddenly take an uncomfortable interest in Merlin.
