He doesn’t say any of those. Instead, he says, “I can’t make it to our party next week.”
Felix stills. He looks at Jisung like he’s crazy, or like he’s playing a prank, or that he heard wrong, but when Jisung continues to look at him with an apologetic expression, he frowns.
“Our party?” Felix repeats. “You won’t be there for your own birthday? Why?”

Jisung always believed 'out of sight, out of mind', and for the most part, it's true—except Minho is never truly out of his sight when he's his best friend's older brother.

Summary
Minho stares at him like he’s been enchanted, eyes wide and enamoured. He doesn’t expect Jisung to catch his gaze, but it seems he knows exactly where to look to find him.
Jisung sends him one of those bright, heart-shaped smiles that make Minho’s blood feel like lava and then bashfully ducks his head, focusing on his guitar.
Jeongin nudges his side with his elbow, so Minho can’t be imagining it.
“You might wanna close your mouth,” Seungmin says. “He hasn’t even started singing yet.”
(It takes at least twenty borrowed books, five hundred coffees, and three open-mic performances for Minho and Jisung to get their shit together.)

He’s halfway through his second jellyfish when he feels it. The prickle in the back of his neck, as if there are eyes drilling physical holes into his body. The familiar feeling of someone staring at him.
Minho whips around, eyes squinted against the sun, scanning every crevice of the rocks, every nook and outcrop, searching for something. But it’s just him, the sand, and the water crashing against the rocks.
(Minho goes to the beach for inspiration for his art. One day, he notices he’s being watched.)

Summary
As the song trickles to an end and Minho comes back to talk about whatever—at this point Jisung is too distracted to think straight or process what Minho is saying—Jisung makes up his mind.
He copies the number on the screen of his tablet to his phone and, without a moment of hesitation, pulls one of his earphones out and makes the call go through.
(Minho’s radio program is Jisung’s source of comfort and the only thing that lets him sleep at night. That is, until Minho starts talking shit about Jisung’s team.)

“I was wondering if you’d-” like to go with me. Minho’s unnaturally high pitch is cut off by the waitress serving their cheesecake and coffee, and he has never hated being in public more than that moment.
“You want me to help you look for a date?” Jisung asks with a confused frown as he starts cutting the cake.
“Um…Yeah. Totally. I want you to help me ask someone out.” Minho finishes his sentence through a clenched fist and just a little bit of devastation. Jisung smiles as he bites a piece of the cake, and his squirrelly cheeks don’t help Minho’s fondness overdrive, or the way he’s smiling and nodding at Minho.

It’s a cold evening when he first sees him, the new year not exactly kind in terms of the weather. Minho zips up his coat all the way, burying his nose behind his scarf as he waits for his bus home to arrive. He barely notices him waiting for the bus with him, too busy keeping himself warm while he waits, as it takes about ten minutes for the bus to arrive at this stop after the studio closes. Only when they get onto the bus does he spot the stranger.
A new face, a boy that looks about his age, with his scarf wrapped all the way over his nose, covering the cheeks that Minho will later learn are adorable.It starts out as a subtle curiosity, but will soon grow into something more.
OR: Jisung has been deaf/hard of hearing since he was born. Chan, his brother, has taken care of him for most of his life and became protective of Jisung after years of seeing him mistreated. When Minho takes an interest in Jisung, he wants to prove to Chan that he isn't like that.
