“You cut your hair?”
“I did.” She runs a hand through it, tousling the short layers.
“This morning?”
“Literally just before. I told you I had an appointment.”
“Yeah, but I didn’t think…” she trails off, standing up slowly. She puts her glasses on the side table before her hands go to Trinity’s shoulders and start playing with the strands at the base of her neck. “Fuck. You look so hot.”

Summary
historiography (noun): the study of history, and the study of how history is written
Second-year undergraduate River Song seduces a visiting academic.
Meanwhile, possibly, the Doctor misses her wife so desperately that she’s willing to cheat time in order to see her again.
Every factual event has a probable account and an improbable one; it is the job of a good historian to analyse what these conflicting stories are most likely to tell us about the parties involved.
River Song is a terrible historian. It’s what makes her such a good archaeologist.

Summary
“We’re just keeping it casual right?”
The words lap around in Trinity’s head as she finally makes her way to the locker room at the end of this 4th of July shift from hell. She catches a glimpse of herself in the mirror and, for a split second, does not recognise the girl standing in front of her. Her pony has come loose, delicate strands of hair sticking to her forehead the way they usually did after a particularly tough shift.
