Summary
He isn’t quite sure how he ends up in his car, keys in the engine, a low thrum beneath his fingertips on the steering wheel. Disappointment settles in his stomach, nauseatingly thick as he swallows the product of his hypersalivation.
“Fuck,” he whispers, as if juvenile frustration could do anything for him now. His hands curl, first around the wheel and then into fists which slam against it. He feels dull and lifeless in a way that he does not often feel like unless he is thinking about his father, or the current political climate, or when his phone is lifeless and he has no choice but to sit with his own thoughts. But Abed is expecting him, and so he stuffs every crushing thought into the pit in his chest and shifts the car into drive.

“Promise me, Troy. Promise me you won’t go.” There is a crazed look in his eyes, and he knows it.
“Okay,” Troy promises. “Okay.” It is so immediate, so calm- more gentle than Abed deserves. He says it like it is nothing, but it is everything.
“Okay,” Abed breathes. He lets Troy lead them back to his bunk, tuck him under the covers, and slide his own body underneath the sheets.
“I love you,” Troy whispers, and Abed pretends he doesn’t hear.

“Eddie,” his throat feels raw, the words wrong to his ears, “Eddie.”

“I can’t—” Buck breaks off, his trembling, dirty hand in the air and Eddie must understand because he takes Buck's hand without question and pulls it to his chest, right over his heart.
