A 1920's AU, in which Merlin is Arthur's long-suffering valet.
"Merlin turned out to be a truly terrible valet. Really, a creature less inclined to service had never crawled out of the primordial bog. Several of Arthur’s more exciting ties and waistcoats became victims of the fireplace, though Merlin would swear, all blue-eyed innocence, that Arthur had developed a terrible habit of burning the things himself while too tight to remember. He was a tyrant in the matter of cutlery. His hangover restorative tasted of rat-meat and gunpowder, and their effectiveness only increased Arthur’s irritation. He frequently quoted things, occasionally in Latin or French (barely tolerable) and twice in German (beyond the pale). He flung open curtains with all the cheer and verve of a music-hall dancer removing her blouse. The ears, tragically, remained.
He had also, in the year he’d spent in Arthur’s employ, facilitated two longed-for engagements, broken off three loathed ones, successfully repressed a rather cack-handed attempt at blackmailing Gwaine, and fished Leon, quite literally, out of the Thames. There didn’t seem to be a job title that encompassed all that, so Arthur supposed that valet would have to do."

Lady Enid managed two days in Camelot before the council composed a formal letter to Arthur questioning Lady Enid’s sanity, and by proxy, his own. [...]
Gwaine sat up and leaned in next to him on the grass, reading over Merlin’s shoulder. “See there, Lord Ellis claims she called him a toad.”
“She did not,” Merlin said and held up the two papers in front of him, “but I marked down the page. She said something about him ‘frogging around’ the issue and, ‘having no leg to stand on’, it was difficult to see how he could ‘jump to such conclusions’.”
Gwaine guffawed and laid down again, his armour clanking as he began to tug on the buckles. “So, she called him a legless toad.”
Merlin settled back against the tree. “I’m impressed Lord Ellis even caught it.”Or: When Arthur invited Lady Enid to inspect Camelot, Merlin thought Arthur lost his mind, but when he lets her stay to wreak further havoc in Camelot, unveiling secrets, upsetting status quos and campaining for a Merlin's own political advancement - be it by marriage or by cunning alone - Merlin is sure Arthur has gone insane for good.

(In which Merlin assumes power of attorney over Arthur's medical decisions when he finally returns from Avalon. It is a logistical nightmare that Merlin handles with exactly that amount of grace he can be expected to.)

Summary
The Pendragons have been cursed with lycanthropy for generations. Only, it isn't a curse. It is a gift, given to the Pendragons in thanks for saving a fairy's life.
Uther blamed the arcane for the "curse" and banned all arcane beings. As King, Arthur welcomed back druids, werewolves, and fey with open arms. He has a loyal pack, and now he has Merlin. A druid specially trained to tether werewolf packs to humanity.
But being a werewolf has earned Arthur powerful enemies, and there is a traitor in the Pack.
Arthur is bleeding out. Merlin must make a choice. Either save the man he loves, or stop the traitor. In the end, there is no choice.
Enemy troops are on the move: Odin and Cenred have joined forces with a group referring to themselves as Ferræden of Déaþ Wulf. They are preparing to lay siege to Camelot.
With Arthur still healing from the most recent attempt on his life and the traitor selling Camelot's secrets to Odin, defending Camelot is impossible. There is only one option. Evacuate the citadel. Seek refuge with allies.
A desperate last stand leads to a powerful potential ally beyond the realm of man. It might be The Pack's only chance to save their home.

Summary
Morgana may have sided against Camelot, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t miss the sweetbread. A nostalgia-induced scheme brings her to Camelot, where she disguises herself as a therapist of sorts in the lower town. She hopes to hear visitors’ useful confessions—dissent in the knights’ ranks, military weaknesses, royal secrets, a hidden trapdoor into the throne room—but what she gets instead are personal revelations, both tedious and absurd. Between the frequent visits from Merlin, Gwen, and every other nervous talker in town, and the impromptu visits from a very suspicious Gwaine, her patience (and her magic) is sorely tested. When Arthur starts visiting, though, the stakes of her mission change, and she finds that being the Worry Woman gives her more power over her brother than she could ever have dreamed of, as well as a few possibilities it never even occurred to her to consider.

“So, Merlin,” Arthur says, and leans forward. Despite having climbed a tower that’s taller than the Big Ben, he doesn’t have a lock of hair out of place. Merlin despises him for that, a little bit. “What are you currently doing in a tower that seems to have no entrance and does have a large dragon on top, which really, that doesn’t help with being perceived as a princess, you’re aware?”
“How did you get past Kilgharrah?” Merlin wonders.
“Dragons sleep too, Merlin.”
Or: Merlin has stuck himself in a tower in a desperate attempt to make himself focus on his dissertation. A lot of knights seem to be under the impression that this makes him a princess in need of rescue, but fail to climb all the way up—that is, until Arthur.

FIC ABANDONED!! May rewrite at some point.
Penny prefers to keep her problems to herself. After all, admitting the reality of her situation to anyone else would mean admitting it to herself first, and she’s not quite ready for that yet.
Harvey would rather fix others’ problems than address his own. When circumstance and some well-intentioned meddling brings him into the orbit of a subdued, overly-thin little schoolteacher, she’s just the kind of puzzle he’s looking for to distract him from sitting around hating himself.
Maru just wants her two best friends to have some happiness for once. Oh, and to somehow fix her dysfunctional family, earn the forgiveness of the girl of her dreams, and figure out how to come out in a town where half the people probably don’t even know what “gay” means. That’s not too much to hope for, is it?
