Fujiko puts the gun to Lupin's head, and he smiles at her, completely unbothered. His expression says "Gotcha, it's a hostage scam! I'll play along!" without saying a word. Fujiko figures that would be right, (though she doesn't know why) but unfortunately for Lupin, the price they wanted to give her treasure back was his death. She pulls the trigger.

Summary
Lupin spots Goemon's shadow from across the catwalks over the warehouse. (Oh good, he's found Zantetsuken!) Lupin is about to call him over when he catches a better look and... Goemon doesn't look right. He's covered in dripping blood and Lupin immediately runs in closer to make sure he's okay, but startles at the sword he's... holding?
It's definitely not Zantetsuken, and oil-slick black tendrils run from its hilt, up his arm, then wrap all around his chest. Lupin winces. Gross.
Lupin finally gets close enough to see his eyes and they're all wrong, wild and empty and when he looks at Lupin there isn't even the spark of recognition, only bloodthirst. -
