To say Gem was cold was an understatement. She was so cold that she could barely move her fingers, so cold that Gem thought she would see a cloud of her breath when she exhaled. Every time she moved was agony, and she was sure she would stop breathing at any moment, waiting for the cold to freeze her lungs.
