There’s no good reason for Susie, of all people, to be barging into Noelle’s room. And it makes no sense why she’s the one who ends up doing it; Kris is the childhood friend—which makes them the obvious choice for a stupidly sappy rescue—and Ralsei’s like… basically one of those baby blankets, the kind with a dumb fluffy stuffed animal attached. The story is always the same. Like a tale from under a silverwood tree, like a myth from the days of old, not so much tied by the constraints of the narrative so much as being narrative itself. Antigone must bury her brother. Iphigenia must be put to death. At a thousand turns, in a thousand ways, Orpheus must turn, and he must look, again, and again.
And Olruggio forgets.)

It's hard enough to grow up surrounded by political drama when all you really want to do is climb trees and take naps with your best friend. You finally spot him running up to you through the crowds of people dancing and laughing. You relax for a brief second until you notice his pale face and his wide, worried eyes. You also note that he’s carrying a bundle in his hands. Upon closer inspection, you realize that it’s Siffrin.
You’re immediately on your feet.
“Isabeau.” You tuck your journal away and your drink tumbles to the ground. You ignore it. “What’s wrong?”
Isabeau slides to a halt before you, panting from sprinting to you. “It’s Siffrin,” he manages to squeeze out. “He won’t wake up.”

It would be rather cruel, to hide away in a library while her contractor suffers from illness, even if he did bring it upon himself.
“So mean, Beako.” Subaru’s voice hitches on one of those wheezing, frightening breaths, where it seems his voice has gotten stuck in his chest. “And so dramatic, too. It’s just a little cold.”
Beatrice attempts to take care of Subaru. She's more or less successful.
