Summary
The Raiders are in the playoffs, and something just isn’t clicking. Maybe it’s the stress, or maybe someone put a fucking curse on them, but passes just aren’t connecting, and line changes chafe instead of gliding. It’s not fucking acceptable, and after two losses against the Admirals– one, humiliatingly, on home ice– both Coach LeClaire and Captain Ilya Rozanov know something needs to change.

Summary
It starts, as many things do, slowly. He quietly stops seeing Galina. He lies about taking his medication. The medication hasn’t been helping anyway. Then it’s Shane noticing he isn’t doing well, and begging Ilya to talk to him. There is nothing to say.
Objectively, everything is fine. His life is amazing. He’s married to the love of his life, they play for the same hockey team, they don’t have to hide their love anymore. They have a dog and a place that is home. He has a family with Shane and his parents. He has friends with the centaurs and Svetlana. On paper, his life is amazing.
The thought definitively doesn’t help the guilt he feels when he holds the handful of painkillers.
Or: Ilya commits suicide. But when he dies, he finds himself as a ghost and is forced to watch Shane grapple with his death.

Hollander's eyes went wide, and so did Ilya's when he realized what he had promised. His words hung in the air between them, suddenly heavy with implication.

Scott Hunter doesn't hate Ilya Rozanov, but after overhearing a conversation he shouldn't have in a Las Vegas bathroom, he's reconsidering.
Because now, he thinks Ilya is an idiot for not treating Shane Hollander the way any man would kill to. For making the man cry in a public restroom of all places after ghosting him for months.
Scott Hunter realizes what an idiot Rozanov is, and figures Shane Hollander might need to be shown just how wanted he is.
