Had their parents allowed it Baelor and Maekar would have married each other without hesitation. But King Daeron would hear none of it. Not just because they were brothers but because they were both alphas. Queen Myriah thought it was a wonderful idea to hold a Mating Run so that not only her sons had a chance to find a mate but also the other noble houses. Of course, none of the Houses could turn down a chance at the throne. Fearing a life with no family of his own he seeks out a matchmaker, hopeful someone would be willing to mate such an odd omega.
Lyonel Baratheon is not pleased when he learns the omega knight he’s been pining after for years is seeking the hand of a lesser man.

He sat at the grave, for the second time this week, and wept. He held the satchel to his chest, mounting Thunder and kept riding down the road. He didn’t know when the rain stopped, but his tears didn’t stop. The inn rose in the distance and he wiped his tears away and nudged his horse to go faster. He could use actual rest.
The boy took the copper and his horses and Dunk sat in the corner of the inn, staring at the watery soup and the satchel. He didn’t want to open it, didn’t want to know what the Princess had died for. But he owed it to her. He pulled it closer and undid the clasp, flipping the flap open to look inside.
He immediately closed it.
Dunk hatched three dragons, over sixty years after the last one died. He doesn't know how he hatched them and he doesn't know how to care for them - but luckily the royal family arrived at Ashford. Maybe they can help.

He finds the whole thing rather vexing, for as an omega, he is not even allowed to compete in the tourney, and his mind is otherwise preoccupied with the disappearance of two of his brothers. He could not care less about Daeron, the drunken fool that he was, but Egg was but a young child, and Aerion's favorite sibling by far.
Luckily for Aerion, he also happens to run into a tall, earnest, and distractingly handsome hedge knight who may or may not end up changing his life.

Forced into wedlock with the man who bested him, Aerion has to battle with his own guilt and rage, as well as the budding emotions building up between him and his foe.

Being from Winterfell, you really shouldn't have even been at the tourney. It was unusual for Starks or any House in the North to attend events centred around the Houses of the South but after being invited by House Ashford to their daughter's birthday tourney, it would be rude to ignore the invitation.
Plus, your mother wouldn’t miss the chance to try and find you a husband, a suitable and respectful man from a good house. As if being in the presence of Targaryens wasn’t bad enough.
It's not like you could make a mess within a week of being in the South, that was extremely unlikely. It would surely be an uneventful event which you would forget about. Right?
