    Summary

The walls. They are so tall, with mist shrouding the bottoms, and the night is so deep. The clamour rising out of the city behind him would cover any noise - all he has to do is relax his grip, and he avoids offending the gods and cuts off a threat to his family before it can grow. He wouldn’t even hear a cry or the sound of it hitting the rocks below.

His stomach twists, and he blinks liquid that isn’t rain from his eyes.

“Forgive me, O Chronodes,” he says, bowing, mind racing, “but if neither myself nor my good son can defend our home adequately by the time this boy is old enough to challenge us, then may Ithaca burn, and us with it.”

    Summary

The Fates cast Percy Jackson into the past to right the wrongs that threaten the future, but he must journey back further than he imagined to stop them. He finds himself in the time of The Odyssey, where Ithaca is overrun with suitors vying for Queen Penelope's hand. The key to saving the world, to defeating Gaea, lies somewhere on Ithaca, and Percy must assume the identity of Antinous, infiltrating the suitors to find it.

To protect Penelope and her son, Percy plays a dangerous game. By day, he mocks tradition and courts the queen with sharp smiles and hollow words. By night, he intercepts assassination attempts and secretly leads Telemachus away from ambushes he doesn’t even know he’s avoided. He is their shield and protector.

But the queen and her son don’t see a protector. They see a threat.

To them, Antinous is the most cunning and dangerous of the suitors. Arrogant, intrusive, and far too clever. Telemachus loathes him, believing him the sharpest knife at his mother’s throat.

As time goes on, Percy must decide how far he’s willing to fall to save the world, and whether a hero’s heart can survive behind a villain’s name.

    Summary

Eurylochus led the crew in a mutiny, capturing control of the ship and declaring Odysseus their captain no more. Once Odysseus is knocked out, they dock at an island and gorge themselves on Helios’ sacred cows.

In the original timeline, this is where Odysseus steps up to take control once more and hope to lead his men to safety away from the gods wrath.

In this one, Odysseus decides that if Eurylochus truly wants power so badly, he can have it. And so, he is left to face the consequences of his actions without his king picking up behind him.

    Summary

In a different universe, the suitors were kinder to Penelope. In a different universe, Telemachus grew into his adulthood surrounded by good men, without the threat of his father’s throne being seized by usurpers. And in a different universe, Odysseus would return home to his wife and son without needing to shed the blood of the suitors.

What happens when that universe reacts to EPIC: The Musical, a world in which their reality took a few steps to the left?

He rises to leave, but he hesitates for a moment, looking down at his hands that still have dried blood under his fingernails.

"It's been twenty years," he whispers.

She smiles at him, quiet joy mixed in with sorrow. "He's been waiting too."
