Summary
It starts like most of the activities that Mack has undertaken recently, an idea that’s buried itself in Will’s head and he won’t give it up until Mack has agreed to do it with him. And Mack should say no more often really; why is he part of a book club when he last read a book at Shattuck? Well, he knows actually, knows he can’t look at Will in his clear blue eyes, full of trust that he’ll say jump and Mack will say how high. Mack has always been a people pleaser and there’s no-one he wants to please more than Will.
or; Will decides hugging before a game will improve their line chemmy and who is Mack to say no?

Summary
“Celebrini?” Will watches the way the name startles him, the way he flinches at the neutrality in Will’s tone. “What are you doing here?” His voice is soft, he’s scared of seeing that look on Celebrini’s face again.
“You don’t remember?” Celebrini’s brows knit together with worry, lips quirked down into a frown. “You were in a car accident.”
Or: Will forgets everything after his freshman year at BC, it’s up to Mack to help him remember.

Summary
Toronto Maple Leafs @ San Jose Sharks
Pride Night
April 2, 2026"It hits Will then. Mack already knows. He knows, but how much does he know?
Will has imagined everything, and he chokes on the largeness of his own feelings. It was never like this with Lenny. He never imagined a future as something-more-than-friends with Ryan Leonard. Content to have him, touch his warm skin, chase his laughter out of his mouth.
Mack is a different story. He pictures them winning a Cup or two together as Sharks most nights when he allows himself to think about it. Their tarps being raised to the rafters together. A huge house and a gated driveway. A dog. A summer house on the Cape.
He wants it all, deep in his bones, but he knows he’d settle for the Cup and the rafters. Anything to make Mack happy."
Or the one where Will has a lot of feelings about tape and his best friend.

Summary
Leno pulls off, after a moment, hovering by his ear. “Is he looking?”
Will blinks a few times, eyes snapping past the wall to where Macklin stands, just to see the same sight he’s been seeing for the past twenty minutes, at least. “Obviously not,” he hisses, and he feels stupid that he even looked.
“He will.”
--
Across the bar, Will laughs, and Mack glances up. There’s a distant thought in there, about how he’s so in tune with Will on the ice that he knows where he is off it as well, can pick out his laugh in the sparse crowd of a dispersing bar, but the thought dies when he catches sight of him.
Will’s eyes are closed, head thrown back and biting his lip at whatever the fuck Leno is doing: head bowed and clearly mouthing at Will’s fucking neck. He’s got a hand in Leonard’s hair, pulling, and Mack’s mouth goes dry.
He’s walking over before he even realizes what he’s doing.
--
or, Mack doesn't exactly know why he dislikes Ryan Leonard. What he does know, is that he absolutely cannot let Will leave with him.
