completed, read, and potentially the best story i've ever read. it really does everything i wanted or asked of wayward son and awtwb and was, admittedly, quite disappointed by. this? this is it. i keep thinking, "this wouldn't be as good without the series to bounce off of, because i wouldn't know the depth of pain and suffering they have to go to at watford together. i wouldn't know how precious their happiness is." and i felt bad, a little bit, because this is so long and descriptive and gorgeous that i feel like it could be a standalone work. but i realize now that that is the Point - that's what fanfiction is! it's a supplement for the readers, a balm on our hearts for all the places the author couldn't go, could not reach. it's a place where we can enact fantasies of pure, unadulterated joy, and feel ourselves become one with the people and places and plotlines we fell in love with. i feel really, truly, whole and contented right now. like the insidious humdrum inside of me from weeks and months and YEARS of falling in love with these characters has finally, finally been filled. i'm so happy. i'm so sad! i wish it would never be over. there is no joy like a story well-told, and this is that story. i'm so glad i read this, and i'm so thankful to the author.

Obsessed with this author actually going to Norway because of this fic. Real good story too.

This is really nice. I think it some of the characterization isn't quite there, just because...well, we're shaped by our pasts, aren't we? But it is a beautiful love letter to these characters and this place and a delightful read.
