Work Text:
Takemichi bakes when he’s stressed. But he also bakes when he’s high.
So that’s what he’s doing, he’s making dorayaki. It’s two in the morning and there’s school tomorrow, this is, obviously, the best idea ever.
The Mizo Middle guys are sitting on his couch zooted like the low functioning high people they are. Yamagishi gets the zoomies and likes to walk around his house and question the idea of object permanence. Makoto gets horny and doesn’t do anything about it, just sits there like he’s not hard, and talks about all of the food that he wants to eat but won’t get up to go get. At least the two of them haven’t started moving around touching, and breaking things.
Even Akkun and Takuya. Although they’re more functional than the other two. Albeit still low functional.
Takuya is currently making snow angels on his carpet and singing row your boat. Akkun is trying to stick his fingers in the bean paste that he’s filling his pastries with. It’s an old recipe that he used to make with his grandma for his little cousins and grandpa.
He has to keep smacking away Akkun’s hands so he doesn’t get the sweet, red paste everywhere. It’s still getting everywhere thanks to the shaky hands he gets from his high.
He had been overthinking about his and Mikey’s relationship when Yamagishi had offered to smoke some weed to get things off of his mind. Takemichi took him up on that offer, and now he’s still thinking about Mikey but way less pessimistically than before, making Mikey’s favourite treat.
He startles when Makoto pops up behind him and tugs his hair. “Ouch Makoto, that hurt like a bitch what was that for?” He half yells.
“I have the munchies. Give me snacks now.” He states bluntly, he’s not even looking at Takemichi, he’s shamelessly staring at the dorayaki that are sitting on the counter. He grabs at one and misses, causing Akkun who is on the floor on the other side of the kitchen to start giggling uncontrollably.
All that Takemichi can think is ‘god this is what my high school life really is?’. He sighs and hands one to him before he can knock the plate that they’re on over.
“No more the rest are for Mikey!” He finds himself yelling. Why is he yelling? He’s sorry for yelling because he heard Takuya and Yamagishi yelp from the living room. “Sorry for shouting.” He says in their direction.

In the morning Takemichi wakes up feeling loose and to the sound of a motorcycle engine from his window. He sits up drowsily. His bed is warm but he wants to know who’s outside. In the back of his brain, he barely registers that it’s probably Mikey but he’s not thinking right now.
He’s barely able to sit up before Mikey’s face pops up in his window and he pulls it up. “G’mornin’ Mitchy. Did I wake ya?” Mikey smiles cheerily as he stumbles slightly through his now open window.
Takemichi’s hair is tousled from wild sleep and his eyes are half-lidded as he looks at Mikey. He hasn’t even had the time to rub his eyes. He hums out an affirmative and makes grabby hands at Mikey. And Mikey being the attentive boyfriend you wish you had, walks over to Takemichi, grabbing his cheeks and pulling him in for a sugary kiss. “Morning baby.” He mumbles tiredly as they pull away.
Mikey stares at him adoringly for a few moments before he hears a groan coming from the floor. There lies Kazushi with a look of disdain. “First you wake me up with your loud ass bike and now you’re making lovey-dovey eyes at my best friend. Yuck.” He promptly rolls over into Makoto’s warm back. “Fuck this, wake me up later for school. The suns barely up.”
Mikey giggles and Takemichi flushes a light pink. Mikey sits down on the bed next to Takemichi, gliding his hand over his cheek and running it through his hair until he’s mostly awake. Takemichi isn’t a morning person, he’s honestly just not a, waking up person. When he wakes up it takes about ten or twenty minutes to completely adjust to being awake and to regain his bearings.
He stops when Takemichi grabs his hand by the wrist and kisses his palm. “I’m up now… kinda. Let’s go downstairs.” His voice is slightly hoarse but it’s nothing some warm water can’t fix. (this makes me feel like an asian mom)
They make their way down the stairs to the kitchen. Mikey quickly makes his way towards the refrigerator, yanking it open while Takemichi hops up onto the counter. There lies a cold plate of dorayaki wrapped in plastic.
“Takemitchy look you have dorayaki! I’m so lucky!” Exclaims Mikey as he snatches the plate off of the rack and does a little happy dance. Takemichi watches in mirth at his adorable boyfriend.
He honestly whole wholeheartedly does not remember making dorayaki last night, but nobody that was here last night knows how to cook actual edible food. “Oh, I must have made it last night.” He mumbles.
Mikey stops doing his happy dance with the plate of pastries to stare blankly at him. “Takemitchy.” He states bluntly before taking a deep breath. “You never told me you could cook! Oh my god these look delicious. I hope they taste just as delicious as they look!” He hops over to the microwave to put the plate in.
Takemichi lets out a breath of relief that he didn’t know he was holding. He’s never seen anybody but his grandma and Kazushi get this excited over food that he’s made. It makes him warm inside and his brain full of clouds.
Mikey pulls his dorayaki out before the microwave beeps and grabs one, taking a big bite and getting crumbs on his face. He chews thoughtfully, and swallows. Takemichi fidgets his fingers in his pajama pants. He quickly takes the chance to look up at Mikey and sees him smiling widely at him, crumbs and all.
“Takemitchy it’s so good! Uuwahh my boyfriend is the best! He’s gonna be an awesome boy-wife.” Mikey is making his way between Takemichi’s soft thighs to hug him hand still full of dorayaki, he leans into the touch and hums.
When they pull away after a moment, Mikey’s hand is significantly emptier. He looks into the eyes of his small boyfriend on the counter and kisses him. Soft, firm and deliciously sweet. Takemichi’s already empty brain goes blank and a warm feeling that he can only describe as yellow washes over him.
He doesn’t even remember why he was stressed out yesterday anymore with this.
Then Akkun walks in wearing and undershirt and ugly plaid boxers and grunts. “Too early for this shit, you guys are weird.” He yawns and turns back around to the living room, “Don’t do anything weird with my best friend.”
Moment ruined and all he can do is giggle.
