Summary
For a few days, Noriko mourns. She mourns for a future barred to her, and she mourns for her wasted efforts. But Noriko is strong and resolute. She picks herself up with renewed fervor and decides that, for the rest of her life, she will fight for the rights of women. She will fight, claw and tooth and nail, and even if it all amounts to nothing she will die knowing that she had tried. Ryuunosuke is happy for her, truly, but they all know that she could be so much more than a martyr. He can see that she knows this, too, in her gritted teeth, in the face she makes when she thinks no one is watching.
Ryuunosuke doesn’t know what to do with his anger. It's foreign and burning and frightening. Ryuunosuke is not an angry person, but he is angry now and he has to do something about it. He really doesn’t like being angry.
The idea comes in the form of an announcement. An announcement for another speech contest, to be more specific, where the winner will take his speech to a national speech contest and his words will be broadcasted throughout the nation. The topic of discussion is the importance of education. Ryuunosuke’s brain whirrs into life, his fire for debate fuelled brighter by his fury.
