Chapter Text
Today was the first day that all galactic royal families were all seated in the same room without violence. It was refreshing for Tim to see that after five years of brutality between the two royal families on earth. After the human race found out about aliens, he expected there to be fear and anxiety because no one really knew the intentions of new alien races. Tim of course did his research on each of the newly found alien races with archives from his dad, who is also widely known as the King of the Bat Family. Most of the aliens seemed harmless, not because they could physically not harm Earth because they certainly could, but instead Tim knew they could trust the aliens for a different reason. Tim would argue it was the most significant of reasons. All the different alien races of the Atalantians, Kryoptions, Tammerianians, Amazons, Apocalipsis, Thanagarians and Ma’aleca’andrans have known of each other’s existence for centuries. Humans have just happened to be the last to know that there are other species besides themselves in the universe. If all these species were able to live in peace for many years, then what was stopping the two royal kingdoms of Earth to join in? Apparently there were too many reasons as to why not, but he was just glad that the violence was never towards the other alien races. In the end, all the violence Tim had seen since he was fourteen, being just adopted by the famous Bruce Wayne, was all infighting between the royal Bat Family and the royal Flash Family.
It was easy for him to get lost in the memories of his father teaching him how to protect himself, especially against any of the Flashes if any of them decided to use their super speed against him. In the memories of himself throwing multiple punches while he hoped that none of his family members were being killed in the battlefield. In the memories of… well it all didn’t really matter anymore. It would always matter in the history books, but in this present time all Tim could really think to do was listen to the music playing in the coliseum. The music was loud, full of excitement, yet it was also precise, meticulous with its repetition that built up the anticipation of the Flash Family running with their super speed to the main stage. There were many reasons to stay angry at the other royal family for causing the five-year war, but it just didn’t seem worth it and at this point there were more reasons to forgive them. The entire Flash family was tricked by a man named August Heart, who somehow managed to cheat in the royal family’s annual race that decides who will be the ruler of the Flash Family. While being the proclaimed ruler, Heart managed to build order in his kingdom through fear of the new aliens. Bruce Wayne and the rest of the Bat Family would never stand by that, so the famous war began. The rest of the Flash Family were forced to follow Heart’s lead, but sometimes it was hard to let it all go. The best way Tim knew how was to try to forget and move on.
The first flash to come on stage was Wallace R West, who gave a nervous smile and a small wave to his aunt Iris in the front row. He was wearing a well-fitted, satin yellow suit with classic black dress shoes. All the royal families had their specific orders for their families to come out in when it came to ceremonies. The Flash Family based a lot of their decisions on the speed of their family members, which Tim would argue was very flawed. After all that was what got them into the war in the first place. Since Wallace came out to the stage first that would mean that he was the slowest in the family. Tim had a suspicion that was the case while he was doing his research on who would be good members to join his team. Despite Wallace being the slowest, that didn’t take away the importance of Wallace’s current position in the Flash Family. The team is just an idea for now, but with all the planet systems joining together into one government, someone needed to connect all the younger generations of the royal families together.
Next Meena Dhawan raced up on stage wearing a black, long satin dress with a slit up the side of her right leg. The dress wasn’t too flashy, but it didn’t need to be; her soft dark complexion made the dress look very expensive and gorgeous. Unlike Wallace, she looked comfortable and confident being on stage looking at the people seated in the coliseum. Avery Ho then ran up to the stage with flair as she added a couple laps around the stage. The citizens of the Flash Family cheered and clapped with excitement. Even some of the children were jumping up and down, giggling as they pointed at the light pink glow Ho’s speed created as she ran. While Tim looked at the Flash Family’s files recently, he considered Avery Ho as an option for his team that hasn’t yet been fully formed. The sad truth was that there was too much bad blood between the two of them for him to trust them to work together well. They fought against each other throughout the war many times, and Tim could tell that he had hurt her pride too many times by defeating her in combat for them to ever end up friends. It was too bad since Tim did respect her for her abilities and persistence. A roaring cheer came from the crowd (again mainly from the civilians because the other alien races didn’t fully understand the history of the Flash Family yet), making the coliseum shake slightly and Tim jumped a little from surprise. He had paid so much attention to Avery, he didn’t even realize that Jason Gerrick had come up on stage already.
“You scared little bro?” Jason Wayne, the second eldest child of the Bat Family chuckled. There was no real malice in his voice, he was only really teasing Tim. He could mainly tell because his brother put a comforting pat on his shoulder. It was awkward for sure, but it was heartwarming that his brother cared. Sure Jason tried to avoid the family sometimes, but in the end he would always be there for all of them.
Tim turned his head slightly to see his sister Cassandra Cain, who was directly sitting next to him, holding her hands to her ears. She was sensitive to sound sometimes, so Tim tried his best to comfort her through the noise with a hug. It was the least he could do, especially since he could hear that cheering was getting louder as the last two members of the Flash Family came onto stage. Now all the alien races were cheering just as loudly as the civilians, showing their respect for the leadership of the two fastest members of the royal family. Tim’s other family members clapped as he still held onto Cassandra. He could additionally hear some of his family’s verbal reactions.
“>TT<” Damian Wayne, the second youngest of the family, expressed with his arms crossed. Tim knew that irritating sound wasn’t towards the Flash Family, it was towards him and Cassandra. Tim tried his best to be a good brother to Damian like how Richard and Jason were to him. Well for Jason it took a bit longer, but there was a lot of family history for the cause of that. Tim had decided there wasn’t much he could do, if Damian kept acting like a little brat towards him. What right did he have to judge him for taking care of his sister?
Then Tim heard the eldest of the siblings make a happy sigh and said, “Damn he’s so hot.”
Tim immediately heard Jason reply back with a classic, “Oh my God, shut up about Wally West.”
Tim looked up and saw the second fastest member of the Flash Family wink at Richard and his eldest brother blushing so much that there was so way to hide it from the rest of his family.
Tim could feel a lightness in his chest as Jason Gerrick, the last ruler of the Flash Family before- well Tim didn’t want to remember that. Just another part of the war everyone needed to move on from. Jason Gerrick placed the famous Flash crown that was silver and had two lighting bolts on the side, on the head of the fastest man alive: Barry Allen. With the shiny, silver crown on Barry Allen’s head, Tim felt a new era rise. It was now a time for a new ruler for the Flash Family, the end of the war, and the start of the galactic republic.
