Summary
Harry Potter fell through the veil of death in his fifth year in a desperate attempt to catch Sirius. However, he is given a second chance upon meeting death and learning a few truths about his life. I was a bit hesitant when getting started because this does lean into the tropes pretty heavy. I find it a bit frustrating how many fanon details are pervasive through so much of the HP fanfic world, but I digress.
This story is quite decent, there are a couple rougher moments but they don't detract from the story. A few author's notes indicate they're getting reviews/comments wishing the MC was more aggressive, but I fundamentally agree with the author's position that an OP MC who does nothing but throw their dick around is simply uninteresting. The MC is generally well written. I wish there was more emotional build up to the relationships, there's not much to the romance, but the characters feel fine. I will mention that the beta reader feeds this into AI to fix wording and grammar. That's frustrating, but at least there's honesty and the author is writing this themselves. I'm completely anti AI so I relate to anyone who wants to avoid this because of that.
