"You can't explain it?" Jackie interjects, letting her fury get the better of her. "You slept with my boyfriend behind my back, lied to me about it for months, and you can’t fucking explain it?"
At this, Shauna’s own anger flares to life, having laid dormant until now. A dog at the foot of the bed, now awake and alert, snapping in Jackie’s direction. Her eyes flash with something hostile. "It's not like I planned it or anything." Shauna steps towards her in challenge and Jackie matches her beat for beat.
