Work Text:
Three times a week Midoriya would sneak into the 2-A dorms to get some cuddles and get some sleep without nightmares. Despite 19 second year hero students living at the dorms, not once did anyone notice him enter nor leave the building. The easiest way of sneaking out was going straight out of front door at 5 am - the only time then dorm residents were still asleep and their homeroom teacher - Izuku's dad - should already be in bed.
The elevators doors opened revealing the path to 2-A dorms' common room. Izuku yawned as he exited the metal box. The clock on the wall showed 5 am. Green-haired teen once again asked himself is waking up at the crack of dawn was worth falling asleep in his boyfriend's arms? It was.
Aizawa had a night patrol till 3 a.m. and at 8 a.m. the classes started, so, logically, he should be sleeping, or Izuku had no idea then the caffeine addict rested.
The sound of something hitting the floor startled the teen. On reflex he spun around facing the sound and took a defensive pose. From the kitchen door four pairs of eyes looked at him. The pack of cookies laid on the floor in front of other teens.
Izuku spotted Hitoshi - his brother - in the group and sighted in relief, relaxing his posture. "You scared me. Why aren't you asleep?" He whisper shouted.
"Why are you even here?" Shinsou asked back.
"Who are you?" Mina asked picking up the cookies.
Midoriya looked at the girl "I'm Izuku." Then back to his brother "Does it matter? Why are you not in your rooms at the ass crack of time?"
"Insomnia." Shinsou shrugged.
"48 hours with no sleep challenge!" Kaminari answered at the same time, sporting too much energy for the early morning.
"Why would you do this challenge on the school days?" Izuku scrunched his nose.
"I don't know, they're crazy." Hitoshi took a sip of coffee and placed the mug on the counter.
"Do you know him?" Kirishima looked at Shinsou.
"Yeah, he was my classmate in Gen Ed." No one knew about Yamazawa family, so they kept being brothers a secret. "Are you sneaking out after a night with your boyfriend?" Hitoshi signed to Izuku, who ignored the question. So, the answer is yes.
"What are you doing in our dorms then?" Kirishima asked, looking slightly suspicious.
"I, um, I was... looking for Aizawa-sensei...?" It was the only thing Midoriya came up with.
"That's what you came up with?" Shinsou rolled his eyes as he moved his arms to sign.
"Shut up." Izuku signed back.
"We haven't heard him come after the patrol, yet." Mina looked at the clock.
Just after the pink girl said it the front door opened. There stood none other than Aizawa himself. Shit, Izuku thought.
Eraserhead scanned the room, and his eyes stopped at one student who should not be here. On of his sons.
"Problem child, do I even want to know why you are here?" Aizawa asked, his voice tired as ever.
"Good morning, Aizawa-sensei! He came here looking for you." Kaminari supplied.
"What did you do this time?"
"Oh, um, hello, Aizawa-sensei." It was still strange to refer to dad this way, how did Hitoshi do it on a daily basis? "I just wanted to ask something about the - the homework... yeah, homework." Izuku smiled.
"I don't teach any of your clases." Aizawa lifted his eyebrow.
"Well, yes, I know. It's just, um, Hitoshi, I mean Shinsou suggested I ask you, because you are a great teacher and, you-you would be the best to give me an answer on this topic."
It was time for Shinsou to raise his eyebrow. You could read on his face "Where the fuck are you going with this bullshit?"
"What topic?" Eraserhead deadpanned.
"..Law..?" Izuku suggested.
"You don't even have it in the curriculum."
"Yeah, but like, um, there is a situation that just randomly came up in my head and I couldn't fall asleep without knowing the answer."
"What did you do?"
"Nothing, I swear! Just, hypothetically, if I was, let's say, walking at night, alone in the dark alley, and some dude just attacked me, and tried to either rape or kill me, and me being me - you know how I carry a knife everywhere I go for self-defense? So, hypothetically, I tried to defend myself and, accidentally, stabbed him in the neck and the guy died. Would I be in trouble with the police? Hypothetically. " Izuku looked at his dad with innocent eyes.
Shinsou looked at his brother in shock, eyes wide like two plates. His friends beside him were terrified. Aizawa took a deep breath. "And, hypothetically, where is the body right now?" Eraserhead knew Izuku for 3 years and, in his mind, this hypothetical story could as well be true.
"Okay, so, hypothetically, I panicked and didn't inform the authorities and instead called my brother," Izuku’s eyes met Shinsou’s for just a second. "And he helped me to hide the body and clean up the place where it all happened. Hypothetically. And the next day he suggested to tell about it to the hero I trust. What would the hero’s suggestion be? Completely hypothetical situation." Midoriya shuffled from one foot to another, one hand rubbing the back of his neck.
Aizawa rubbed his face with a hand, it too fucking early for this... He looked at his still terrified students in the room. He should be professional about it in front of them. "Okay, so, hiding the body and cleaning up the place, and having somebody help you with it,” He looked at Shinsou. “Are the wrong steps to take on your part. If, hypothetically, you did it and then told the hero, they would most likely take you to the police and place charges for murder and hiding the evidence."
"What do you mean most likely?! It's the only thing a hero should do in this situation!" Kaminari screamed.
"It depends on the hero. Yes, by law hero should report to the police and take you into custody. But there are some, let's say, morally grey heroes. They could take pity on you. You were defending yourself; it was an accident and everything else was done under shock and panic. Plus, no one likes rapists. Some could even help you get rid of the body or hide it better." Aizawa explained.
"So, um, just out of curiosity. Would you consider yourself a morally grey hero?" Izuku looked at his dad with hope.
Eraserhead took a minute to respond, but eventually he said, "Yes."
"You mean you would help us hide the body if we killed someone?!" Mina asked, shocked.
"No, but I would help you to not get caught. Hypothetically."
"Thank you for your answers, sensei! Have a great day!" Izuku bolted through the front door.
Ping.
Shinsou: Why the fuck would you tell him this hypothetical story?! He now a 100% thinks you killed somebody, and I helped you hide the body!
You could have just said we had plans before classes or some shit.
Izuku: I panicked, okay?! I have no idea where it came from
Plus, I already told your friends I was looking for dad
Shinsou: I heard him calling Tsukauchi asking about found dead bodies and missing men
Izuku: Well... at least we know he would help with the body
And then I tell him about Kacchan he will know I could have made worse decisions in my life
We need to keep him on his toes, you know
Shinsou: He hates us
Izuku: Don't lie to yourself
Shinsou: Right
He hates you.
Izuku: I'm his favorite
Eraserhead spent his week discreetly asking Izuku and Hitoshi for more information and searching for a man's body with a stab wound on his neck. He couldn't find it, so he thought either it was really just a hypothetical situation, or his kids are professionals at hiding bodies and cleaning crime scenes. He swears he'll go completely grey in a couple of years with his problem children.
