Chapter 1: Having Sex with a Ghost(face)

Chapter Text

Dennis didn't even want to go to this party, but his dormmate convinced him to go out on Halloween night to get his mind off of the stress of life. He had decided that, this being his first (and probably only) Halloween party he'd go to, he would go all out. He had been trying out different styles and ended up wearing a very cute costume: a maid. Cliche? Yes. But he'd had the outfit for a while now and hadn't worn it yet.

The costume ended up being a little big on his and he started to second guess himself the second he realized how skinny he was. He pulled the costume off his body and decided to just wear his own clothes. No costume is still a costume. He put on a compression tank top, a big shirt, a white skirt, thigh highs, some cute underwear that didn't show through his skirt, and his favorite Hello Kitty sneakers. He could hear the voice of his father in his head. 'You're a fucking sissy' 'Disappointment' 'My son is a queer' He shook his head and did some pretty makeup before getting his purse and heading to his car.

Dennis opened the messages with his dormmate Bradley and found the address. A house in the rich part of the town. He buckled up and turned on his playlist, singing along as he drove. He found the house too easy, its the one with the cars in the front yard and crazy Halloween decorations. He parked and stepped out, taking a deep breath as he looked at the house. "Okay Dennis, try to get drunk and then you can let loose." He whispered before approaching the house. He went to knock when the door flung open and two making out randoms stumbled into Dennis. He gasped and backed up, letting them go to one of their cars.

He watched them stumble into the backseat on a Ford Forrunner before he walked into the party. It was dark but also there were strobe lights all over the house that made Dennis's head hurt. He kept his head down as he wandered around the party. The music was too loud and made his heartbeat run wild before he found his way to the kitchen. He saw the kitchen was packed but managed to find a cup that smelled strongly of vodka. He just nodded and downed half the cup, smiling as the taste hit his throat.

Dennis wandered around a bit before going to the living room. He was so excited when he saw Bradley dancing. He rushed over. "Brad!"

Bradley turned around and he smiled. "Hey Denny!" He hugged him and started dancing with him. "You know we are gonna get so fucked tonight!" Dennis blushed. "Oh come on you need to get some dick!" He smiled.

"I mean I don't know about that." Dennis mumbled. "But if I meet a guy sure."

"I don't mean to alarm you but there is a very obvious guy eyeing you." He chuckled. "At least I think since I can't see his face."

Dennis turned to look in the direction of Brad's gaze and turned red when there, leaning against a wall, stood a very tall man who Dennis prayed was looking at him. He was wearing scrubs and a stethoscope and a Ghostface mask. And HE WAS HOOOTT!!!

Dennis turned to talk to Brad but he was gone. And then he turned back around and the man was standing right there over him. He had two cups of vodka in his hands, holding one out to Dennis. Dennis took it and smiled as he looked inside it to make sure it wasn't drugged before taking a long sip when the man did.

"I'm Dennis um..." He started, "I like your costume. Scary doctor? Nice." The man took Dennis by the waist and pulled him close, lifting the mask using the cup and taking a sip. Dennis watched the man's throat move while gulping the vodka down. Fuck.

Dennis stood up on his tip toes and  pressed a kiss to his neck, pulling the man in by his scrub top. Dennis had to find out the brand for when he ordered his own because they were so fucking soft. He pulled away from him and smiled up at the man who ended up taking him to the kitchen to get another drink. He and the man finished those and then Dennis was put onto a somehow empty counter, the other spots filled with making out people who were drunk off their asses. He gasped as the man pushed his hand under his shirt and groped him over his tank top.

"Wa-wait." he whimpered when he felt the mask lift and the man was kissing his neck quite roughly.

"Shut it." The man growled and kissed his neck harder, Dennis letting out a moan when the man's scrub pants clearly bulged against his leg. Dennis looked down as best he could and he gasped. This man was hard. And Dennis was about to be hard too.

"Wanna...go upstairs?" Dennis suggested when he felt the man put his hand under his skirt and toy with Dennis's ever begging cock.

"Yes." The man carried Dennis up the stairs to a room and didn't let Dennis argue before he threw him onto the bed and Dennis saw a glimpse of the man's face. God he was gorgeous. "Mike." The man spoke.

"What?"

"Call me Michael or Mike. Or..." Mike ran his hand up Dennis's inner thigh, "You can call me something else." Mike smirked before he pulled the mask back down.

"No wait." Dennis reached up but Mike took his hands and pinned them above his head.

"Baaad boy." he chuckled lowly into Dennis's ear and pushed the skirt up. "Don't make me spank you, Dennis." He whispered and let his hands go to pull Dennis's panties off. He laughed a bit. "Such a good boy. So hard."

Dennis let out a whine and that made Mike laugh a bit. "Oh please don't laugh." Dennis whined and sat up to look into the eyeholes of the mask. He looked pathetic.

"Sorry baby." He lifted the mask a bit and pulled Dennis into a kiss and god damn. That was a wonderful kiss if Dennis ever had one. Dennis deepened the kiss by shoving his tongue into Mike's mouth, kissing him deeper and deeper until Dennis and Mike have swapped places and Dennis is straddling Mike's leg, Mike gripping Dennis's ass with one of his hands and his neck with the other.

Dennis pulled away and reached for the mask but Mike pulled away from his reach. "Please? Its so dark that I don't think I can see more than three feet in front of me." Dennis begged and pouted, making Mike sigh and pull the maask off. He is older, much older than Dennis. He blushed as he realized Dennis was staring at his face. Mike went to get up but Dennis took his hand and pulled him back down. He went back to his spot straddling his leg. "Stay." He stated.

"Fine." He kissed Dennis again and the sweet boy started to run his hands over the bulge. "God dammit hang on." He pulled away and quickly pushed his pants and then his boxers down to reveal eight inches of pure length. Dennis felt intimidated by it but Mike smiled. "Don't worry baby I'll open you up enough." Dennis went to speak but Mike kissed him.

Mike pulled away to spit on his fingers. "Get on your knees. Put your ass in the air for me." Dennis crawled off Mike and stuck his ass in the air. "Good boy." He heard and that made him thank the lord he wore waterproof makeup because he would be crying.

Mike ran his fingers over Dennis's hole before slowly pushing his pinky in. The gasp from Dennis made his stop moving. But Dennis spoke up. "You are good. I'm okay." He managed to say as tears pricked his eyes.

"God are you a virgin? Not that I don't want that but give a guy some warning."

"I...I didn't want you to be turned off by that." Dennis spoke up. "And it didn't really come up."

Mike chuckled. "I'm sorry I didn't ask. I'll be extra careful." He slowly pushed the rest of the finger inside his ass, smiling as Dennis took it a bit better. "Okay good job baby." He spoke sweetly. "God you are doing so good." He smirked when Dennis let out a cry as he pressed the tip of his ring finger into him. "Come on princess you are doing so good." Dennis moaned and Mike knew that it was because of his words. "Oh you like that? Princess." He chuckled when Dennis tried to push back on his fingers. "Okay okay be patient. Don't wanna break you."

Dennis whimpered. "Please I...God please daddy." Mike blushes. He's never been called that. Not by anyone ever.

"Okay okay princess." He pushed the second finger in and Dennis let out a sigh of relief. "Oh you need this don't you? What has you pent up?"

"I'm a...fuck yes right there." He whimpers when he feels Mike's fingers rub inside him. "I'm in college. God fuck I....medical school. Gonna be a- fuck fuck! Gonna be a doctor!" He moaned as he felt Mike's middle finger push into him.

"Oh well guess you've met your match, princess. I am a doctor." He teased and made sure his third finger went all the way inside him. He looked at Dennis's face and noticed him panting heavy. "Do you need me to pull them out?"

"No no I just...I've never had sex before so I might be having an anxiety attack. I dunno. Its hard to tell as a med student. I always try diagnosing myself."

"Stop stop." Mike pulled his fingers out and blushed when Dennis's hole gaped. "Fuck." He pulled Dennis up and held him in his lap with his legs across him. "Hey Princess you need to calm down okay? Its gonna be okay. I have a condom so we are gonna be as safe as possible and you are gonna get to lose your virginity on the sexiest night of the year." He tried to reasure him. Dennis nodded, weakly laughing. "There we go baby." He started to stroke him slowly. "Let me make you feel good." He kissed him and laid Dennis down on the bed, stroking him.

Dennis watched Mike kiss his neck and thighs before Mike started to suck his cock. He blushed red watching it happen. "Oh my god." He covered his face with both hands from the nervousness. He was already dripping precum so he knew he was a goner already.

Mike looked up and sighed, taking off his stethoscope and using it to tie Dennis's wrists behind his back. "Bad boy. Just watch. Let me see your face." He smirked. "You taste so perfect." He kissed his thigh and went back to sucking him off.

"Oh god daddy." He whimpered and squirmed as Mike sucked him harder and harder.

"That's right. I'm your daddy princess." He pulled Dennis up by his ass to suck harder. Dennis was four inches hard but Mike knew how to make him feel good. He pushed his three fingers into his ass once more, flexing and stretching them. He felt Dennis's cock go soft and tasted salt. He pulled away and swallowed. "Good boy." He kissed his neck and smiled. "You still want me to fuck you?" Dennis nodded, whimpering. "Of course you do." He smiled and carefully pulled his fingers back out. He pulled a condom out of his scrub pocket and took it out, rolling it on carefully to make sure it didn't rip. He didn't have any diseases but he didn't want Dennis to worry about that since they would likely never meet again. Sure Dennis was a med student but it'd be July for the next round of students, nine months, and he would likely not remember this.

"Please fuck me?" Mike looked up to see Dennis whimpering and begging so kindly. "I need it." He said softly, moving to be on his knees and looking into his eyes. Mike's face softened and he nodded, turning Dennis onto his stomach.

"Brace yourself baby." He spoke and pushed into him, groaning at the somehow still so tight ass of this sweet boy. He held onto the stethoscope to hold Dennis up and smiled. he looked so pretty like this.

"daddy." Dennis choked out and Mike pulled him to press Dennis's back against his chest. "Wait." He whimpered. Mike kissed his neck and wiped his tears.

"I'll stay as still as you want, baby. Tell me when." He spoke and stayed like that until Dennis nodded. "Okay I'm about to move baby." He whispered and slowly pushed all the way into him. "That's it. There we go. Settle down baby I'm almost all the way in." He realized Dennis wouldn't be able to take it all and he just let that be. He kissed his shoulder. "I'm not gonna be able to be all the way in okay? I'm just too big right now." Fuck he made it sound like they'd fuck again.

"M-mhm. Okay." Dennis leaned back into Mike and smiled weakly. "I need you to keep going. Fuck me daddy." He begged and Mike waited only a minute before he put his hands onto Dennis's hips and started to bounce the male on his cock. He groaned into his ear and smiled. "God yes yes!" Dennis moaned and started to bounce with the movement. "Daddy don't stop!"

Mike nodded and kept going, kissing Dennis as much as he could. Dennis tasted like coconut and oranges and smelled like vanilla and, duh, sweat. Mike ran his tongue across Dennis's neck and chuckled when the male shivered. "God you are so delicious baby. Take it right there." He kept going. "I'm gonna cum baby. Are you ready for that?" Dennis nodded very fast. "Okay it won't be in you but it'll feel like it for maybe a moment I am gonna let you decide if I pull out or not."

Dennis tried to think but couldn't. "No. Don't please. Don't pull out!" He begged and whimpered. "Cum cum fuck I-" Dennis let out a cry as an orgasm ran through his body and Mike came into the condom. "Oh I..." Dennis tried to speak but he was so tired.

Mike kissed his temple and held him close. "Relax I'm here princess. Just nod or shake your head. Do you want me to lay you down?" Nod. "Do you want me to be here when you wake up?" Shrug. "Okay princess. Do you need anything?" Shrug again. He sighed. "Princess I am gonna make the decision to go once you're asleep. I have to work tomorrow and I don't want to sleep too much." He tucked Dennis into the bed, taking the shoes off the man. He threw the condom away and fixed his outfit. He put the mask back on but pulled it back up to kiss Dennis on the lips. "May we meet again, dear." He spoke sweetly before leaving.

July comes too fast for Dennis. He's terrified that he won't get the spot he wants but is amazed when they give him a spot that he hasn't heard of. He wore his new scrubs and looked in the mirror at his badge before he took a selfie and sent it to Brad, who ended up moving to Atlanta for the spring semester when he got placed at Emory. [First day! Miss you!] He sent it and put his phone away, walking into the ER.

Dr. Robby isn't paying attention as the new residents circle up and he begins talking. He stops when he sees the name Dennis on the list of newbies. He looks up and standing there, in the cutest scrubs ever, looking slightly uncomfortable in them, is his princess. "Holy shit."

"Hi I'm Dennis Whitaker. I'm one of the new residents." He smiled a bit awkwardly as he fiddled with his hands.

Not new to Michael Robinavitch. Not new at all.

Chapter 2: Robby Realizes How Much Dennis Doesn't Eat

Summary:

Robby notices that Dennis hasn't been eating a lot lately and doesn't realize how bad it truly is until Dennis passes out after a particularly bad trauma. Also they're secretly dating.

Chapter Text

"Stable!" Robby yelled as the pulse finally held on the patient they'd been trying to revive for five minutes. But Dennis doesn't stop doing chest compressions, he just keeps going. "Whitaker." He says, reaching out to the shaking doctor. "Whitaker?" He nudges Dennis. "Whitaker!" He finally yells and Dennis stops, shaking and panting as he looks at Robby. But Robby doesn't get to look in his eyes for long before Dennis collapses on the floor and Robby quickly gets down to help him. "Oh god no." Dennis was pale and shaky and his eyes were sunken in. Robby picked up Dennis and held him close to his chest. "I'm here Denny, I'm here." He put him on a bed and they started hooking him up to machines, Robby doing what he could to help.

It took six hours for Dennis to wake up, but when he did he was in a private room and there, in the chair next to his hospital bed sleeping, was Dr. Robby. Dennis smiled weakly and looked around at the room. He tried to sit up but it hurt to move so he just laid there. He looked at the doctor up and down slowly, trying to gague if he was truly sleeping or not. He spoke slowly. "Robby?" He whimpered at the pain in his face as he spoke. "R-Ro?" He spoke a bit louder, the doctor stirred a bit. "Robby-ah!" He cried out as he felt his jaw crack and in came Dr. Abbot.

"Oh you're awake." He smiled at him softly. "Had us worried, Huckleberry." He joked and this made Dennis cringe. "I know I know the joke isn't funny. But its a joke." He walked over to inspect the monitors.

"What...hap-"

"You passed out from malnutrition. I wanted to class it as starvation but Robby refused to let me. Because you wouldn't do that to yourself right, Huck?" Dennis didn't look at Abbot. "Huck...come on we're doctors why aren't you eating?"

"Because everytime I try to eat a trauma comes in and I can't eat when I get home because I don't have the energy and most stuff is closed or too far from my apartment to get on the way home. And I can't eat before my shift because I have to make sure I have everything together and ready to go." Dennis sighed. "I just wanted to save lives and now I had to have mine saved like an idiot."

"Huck, its been two months since you started here. You have to get a routine going. See if someone can make you food to eat on the way home, something." Jack left the room and Dennis looked at Robby, sighing.

"I know you're awake." He spoke softly. Robby looked up at Dennis with a sad smile.

"Why wouldn't you tell me?" He got up and walked over to him, sitting on the side of the bed. "You know I would make you something."

"When I was in pre-med, I ate once a day, sometimes every other day. No one noticed. And I was saving a lot of money. So I figured I could do it again. Save up."

"For what?"

Dennis sighs. "I wanted to buy you something nice for Christmas. I know you hate gifts but I wanted to get you a fitness watch. You are always complaining about your watch being wrong and being too lazy to change it. I also figured you'd like one because...I saw you looking for one a month ago."

"A month, how long have you been starving?"

"Um..." Dennis looked down at his hands. "I haven't eaten a real meal in..." He thought about it for a long time. "I don't know." He mumbled.

"Baby." Robby softly spoke and pulled him into a loose hug. "You can't eat right yet because you fell on your jaw when you fainted but the second they say you can eat again I am ordering us the best Chinese food money can buy." He spoke, making Dennis look at him with love in his eyes. He kissed his forehead. "And you need a lunch box. One that heats itself up. I will make us dinner and lunch and breakfast and all you have to do is eat. I will take you home so you can eat after a shift. But you should know they won't let you leave until you gain ten pounds. So prepare for lots of Jello."

"Is it-"

"The lime jello? Of course." Robby pulled two cups of lime jello from his pocket and a spoon. He opened one and started to feed Dennis.

Dennis laugh a bit as he was fed, laying in the hospital bed and getting tired. Dennis started to fall asleep and so Robby cut the bright lights off and pressed a kiss to his cheek. "Rest easy, baby."

"I love you, Mike." Dennis spoke before falling asleep, causing Robby to freeze from his walking. He looked at him and smiled. "I love you Denny." He whispered and left the room.

Abbot smiled as Robby walked over to the trash can. "Denny?"

"Shut it." Robby chuckled softly.

Chapter Text

Michael steps into the warmth of Gina's Art Studio and sighs in relief as he shakes the snow off his boots and coat, setting his art bag down on a nearby table while he removes his snow gear. He was the first one here, and he usually was. He'd been coming to these classes for almost a year now, encouraged by Jack to get a hobby that didn't involve patients or a hospital room or anyone in healthcare. That sort of went sideways when Gina ended up in the hospital the same day Jack said that and offered him a discounted rate if he wanted to take her classes. Since January, every week on his off night, he attends a class and draws something brilliant. He's drawn through four sketchbooks that sit at home untouched and then also has drawn on napkins, his own arm, and the arm of the nearest person at the hospital when he's needing a brain break. Hell, Santos got his anatomical heart tattooed onto her shoulder after he drew it on her hand out of boredom. He was pretty proud of that.

He sits down in his favorite spot and opens all his supplies: colored pencils, charcoal pencils, blending tools, pastels, lots of erasers, a drawing glove, and his newest addition, liner pens. He put the glove on, and Gina walked over with a mug of cocoa. "Oh, thanks, Gina. I didn't ask for this, though."

"Didn't have to. You always look so cold. Anything else I can do to warm you up?" She winks, and Mike swears he throws up in his mouth.

"Um, no, no, I'm all good, Gina." He gets his phone out and texts Jack. 'Okay, I think she drugged my cocoa. Should I drink?' He sent the text along with a picture of the cocoa. He put down his phone and opened his sketchbook to its next clean page. He sets it on the easel and looks at the door as people come into the studio. There are only twelve people in the class, including Mike, so he is confused when someone enters and Gina ushers them into the back. Strange. He checks his phone and sees Jack sent a shrug emoji. This man and his too few words. Mike looked around for Gina and saw she wasn't around, so he 'accidentally' knocked the mug off his table, and it fell to the ground, shattering. He was not taking any chances.

Everyone rushes to clean up, and Gina rushes in, offended that the mug broke. "I'm so sorry, Gina. I was about to sip from it, and I knocked it over." He lied through his teeth, and Gina stopped being angry and walked over to him. God no. While she had been back there, she clearly sprayed her perfume all over her body and probably some in her mouth too because she reeked of it. Mike backed up and held up his hands. "Please don't come into my space."

Someone finally raised their hand to ask a question. "Why are we in a circle? Are we not doing more building sketches?"

"Oh god no, Ursula. We are very lucky because this week is our live model class! We found a very kind young man who was willing to sit for us and then my next class too!" But the information about the live model class was on the poster that was emailed out. Mike shrugged at the words and then turned back to his paper, dating and pre-signing it while Gina talked about the model. "He's a very kind young man; he is a doctor—well, he's becoming one—and he loves to help." Duh, all doctors do is help. And if they don't, they should die. That was a dark thought from his brain. He shook his head. "His name is Dennis."

Mike's eyes widened at the name. It couldn't be. No. No way. That wouldn't be the reason Denny cancelled their date tonight after the class, would it? Oh god, please don't let this be nude modeling either; Denny wouldn't forgive him. The door to the back opens, and the model steps out and onto the podium. Mike stays looking at his paper, refusing to look at the model.

"Hi." Shit. Mike looks up and comes face-to-face with his boyfriend, who is wearing a hoodie, a sweater, sweatpants, and what Mike knows are thermal pants underneath as well as fuzzy socks and some boots. He smiled a bit seeing how warm he tried to be. It had been a hard winter already, and it was only November.

Dennis looks around but stops on Mike and tries to hide his reaction. He softly waves and sits on the stool behind him. He doesn't pose; he just sits on the podium and opens an app on his phone, which Mike knows is TikTok when Denny puts his headphones on. He knows he does this to ignore the outside world and watch people in short-form videos on his phone. Mike takes a close look at him and then starts sketching the second Gina starts the massive timer on her desk. She sits behind it laughing loudly at something, but no one dares question what it is. Mike sketches through the lines and shapes of his boyfriend, his mind wandering to this morning.

"Oh fuck, fuck yes! Good boy, fuck yeah. Suck harder, baby. God, take this cock like a fucking champ, don't you!"

His eyes widen as he returns to reality and continues to draw. He feels the stench of that wretched perfume getting stronger when Gina stands right behind him, making him gag a little, and only Denny notices. He snickers but covers it up by pretending to sneeze. "Sorry, guys." He apologizes sweetly.

Gina stands right on top of Mike, basically, shoving her tits in his direction while he tries to avoid them, and she gasps at his picture, which is still just lines and shapes and a very detailed face sketch. "OH DAHLING, THIS IS ART!" She speaks in her fake British accent, which she does too often, and goes to another person's drawing, not giving as much praise. Denny and Mike make eye contact, and both fake coughs to laugh at that interaction. Mike grabs his phone and opens his camera to take a picture of Denny when Gina comes over and takes his phone. "Oh no, we must use only our eyes. One day these phones will be no more, and we will have to return to pencil and paper."

"Gina, give me my phone." Mike got up and walked after her to get his phone, but he stopped after he realized she was trying to lead him to the back. He just sat down, phoneless, and continued to draw. He noticed Gina go in the bathroom with his phone and sighed, hoping she wouldn't go through anything and knowing he'd have to delete a lot of photos. He wanted to get Gina shut down, but this was the only art studio that didn't charge an arm and a leg to take one class. If she did that, it would make Oliver's prosthetic limbs even funnier than he always made them.

The timer goes off, and Gina comes back, setting down Mike's phone and going to cut the timer off, which makes Denny get up and grab the phone, rushing to hand it over. Mike smiles a bit and thanks him silently before Denny sits back down. Gina hadn't noticed that. She walked around and pointed to everyone's art, mentioning what they could work on and what they did great in. But she overexaggerated Mike's. He finally realizes he drew Denny in his work clothes, not his now clothes. Mike facepalmed and turned the drawing to show Denny, who smiled.

"Hey, that's me." He walked over. "You even got my badge right." He didn't realize people were staring. "Can we hang this at home?" People gasp, and Denny realizes he's a little louder than he means to be.

"You live together?" Gina asks, looking between them. Mike smiled and looked at Denny.

"He's my boyfriend. My sneaky boyfriend but mine." Mike kissed his cheek and held Denny close. "We absolutely can. But I want to draw myself next to you." He chuckled, and the others walked over to look, Denny introducing himself to the classmates.

When everyone leaves, Mike pulls Denny into a corner. "Baby...why are you doing this?"

"Existing or...?" Denny tries to joke, even doing finger guns.

"Modeling. I love you, and you're beautiful, but still, you do know we have the money, right?"

Denny sighed. "I know, I know. But...I wanted to get you a Christmas gift, and I was trying to save up for us to go on a trip, and I mean, that's why I'm not available as much anymore. Because people are hiring me all the time. Someone hired me to go to their kid's baseball game on Saturday morning because they can't go and wanted their kid to know someone cared. Which is sad but still."

Mike sighed. "I'm going to go home and start on dinner. And then after dinner you and I are going to talk about your trip idea. And then we are going to have stellar sex. Text me when you get done, and I will order you an Uber home. And I will make sure they don't bother you so you can watch your videos and stuff. I love you."

"I love you too." Denny stood on his tiptoes to kiss Mike, making them both giggle when their noses bumped. "Boop." He smiled, and Mike cupped his cheek, dipping him down to kiss him again.

Chapter Text

Michael scoffed as he fixed his tie three times in the stupid mirror of the hotel room bathroom. He didn't know why everyone rented hotel rooms but he decided it would be better if he decided to get drunk. If. He threw his tie down and pressed his thumb and pointer finger against the bridge of his nose. "I am going to fucking kill someone if this tie doesn't go on."

"Hang on." Jack walks into the bathroom and takes the tie. "What did you ever do without me?"

"Not wear ties that is for fucking sure. I mean I didn't even want to come to this bullshit event." Jack laughed. "What?"

"You know why you're coming." Jack teased. "The cute little MS4..." He teased and walked to the big mirror in the hotel room. He adjusted his suit jacket and the cufflinks, making Dr. Robby roll his eyes.

"God you are insufferable."

"You used to love me. Remember?" Michael looks at his ex and smiles.

"Yeah. But you slept with an intern, not me." Michael laughed and then walked out of the room, hearing Jack argue. "Good luck." He mumbled and headed to the elevator.

He pressed the down button and stared at the elevators in front of him. He heard footsteps and didn't turn to look at who it was until they spoke. "H-hey Dr. Rob- Michael." Shit.

Michael looked to see...HOLY FUCK. Dennis was wearing a very nice....very tight suit, no jacket though. "Hello Dennis." He nodded at the young man, trying to look away from him. But he just couldn't. Dennis stepped forward and pressed the down button again.

"How are you doing tonight? I saw Dr. Abbot- Jack go into your room earlier."

"Oh he was helping me figure out my tie. I was not having luck."

"Ah." Dennis had on a navy blue dress shirt, a black vest, tie, pants, and shoes. But a piece of red fabric showed. His socks were red.

"Interesting sock choice." Dennis had a confused look on his face until he looked down at his feet.

"Oh god. I could've sworn...I'm sorry. I kinda...didn't look at what I packed for this." Dennis's cheeks went the same color as the socks. It made Michael chuckle.

"I believe it." Michael lifted his pants and showed him he himself was wearng a pair of socks with Santa's on them. "I didn't unfold the socks." He smiled.

"Thanks. Solidarity helps." Dennis furrowed his brow. "Why is the elevator taking so long?"

"It could be down, lets take the stairs." Dennis nodded and followed a step or two behind Michael to the first floor. Michael approached the front desk. "Hello your ellevators are taking some time to reach the fifth floor. I just wanted to tell you." The staff thank him and he goes back to Dennis to lead him to the room their Christmas party was in. They walk in to find everyone dancing or talking. Melissa is sitting alone with headphones on and it makes Dennis smile, walking away from Michael to go sit with her.

Michael walks to the crowd and laughs as he notices Heather and Dana wore the same outfit on accident. They're both laughing and showing everyone. Heather notices Michael and walks up to him, hugging him and giving him a glass of soda. "Heather! Merry christmas!" He spoke and then hugged Dana. "Merry Christmas Dana." he looks around and notices the lack of Javadi and Shamsi. "Are the mother daughter duo joining us?"

"No." Dana sighed. "Apparently Victoria forgot to give her mom the invite. Silly girl. but that means Mateo isn't coming. Something about solidarity." Michael makes an 'ah' noise and then hears laughter which makes him look and see Dennis and Melissa pointing at each other's phones and laughing. "They look so happy."

Michael looks at Dana. "What?"

"They're such a cute couple."

Everyone stares at Dana, including Heather. "They literally couldn't be more incompatible. What makes you think...?" Dana shrugs and everyone forgets that topic as everyone starts drinking. Michael grabs two extra glasses of champagne and walks over to the pair in the corner. He holds up drinks. "I come with gifts." He sets down the glasses and sits next to Dennis, getting a good look at how the pants fit him. They fit good! You can see his thighs clench and the very large impression in his pants. This makes Michael blush and Melissa cocks a brow at him but he shakes it off.

"So what did you do for Secret Santa?" Melissa asks Dennis. Fuck Secret Santa, that's right. Michael had gotten Dennis and had completely forgotten to get him something.

"Well I can't tell you guys. What if you tell my person?" He crosses his arms and god that shirt flexes with him. Michael coughs and nods.

"Yeah can't chance it, Melissa." Dennis nods and smiles at Michael, that sweet small smile that makes his heart melt.

"Well I got Heather. I think I got her the best gift. A free massage and a $40 gift card to her favorite coffee place." She smiled. "I hope you got your secret gifteds something good."

"Oh yeah I got mine something so good it would put a million dollars to shame." Michael laughed, trying to lie his way out of this.

"Mine isn't that good but mine is pretty god." Dennis smiled that stupid half smile that Michael fell in love with originally.

"Okay. I'm gonna go get drunk." Michael spoke and Dennis got up.

"I need to as well. I am a bit too sober right now." He flattened his pants on his legs which was a waste of movement since they conformed to his legs so tightly. Michael looked away when Dennis looked at him and they walked to the bar. "I'll do a vodka cranberry and Dr- Michael what would you like? I'll pay for this one."

Michael looked at the alcohol they had. "Oh well I guess a vodka lemonade." Michael shrugged and put his hands in his back pockets of his pants. He looked down and noticed the watch on Dennis's wrist. "Where's that from?"

Dennis holds up the simple watch with brown leather band. "Well I turn 27 in a few days so I bought myself a birthday gift. It's nothing crazy, just a watch."

"Oh really? Why did you put that on your-" He covered his mouth.

"My what? My secret santa slip? Oh you got me?! Oh thats so exciting." Dennis smiled and giggled like a child. "I'm gonna tell you that I got you and I hope my gift is good enough."

One drink turns into two which turns into four which turns into Dennis and Michael on the dance floor singing along VERY drunk. The time reached 10 pm and both men were severely drunk, Dennis a lot more than Michael but STILL!

Heather laughed as she pushed them into the elevator which apparently had a broken panel on the 5th floor. She pressed the five button and then close door button before walking back to the party. Michael and Dennis started to dance in the elevator and ended up stumbling out of it. They both laugh as Dennis runs into the railing of the hallway and Michael gets into his room, pulling Dennis inside. When they got inside, they immediately stopped laughing and both fully sobered up. And then they burst into laughter.

"Oh my god I can't believe it took them that long to tell us to go to bed!" Dennis laughs, acutally a little drunk. He looks as Michael and notices he's sitting on one of the beds. "Michael?" He walks over.

Michael looks into his eyes and smiles. "You know I could feel it the whole time?" His smile turned into a smirk as his eyes trailed down Dennis's body. Dennis squirmed a bit and covered his crotch. "You are such a naughty boy." He joked. "But I am still gonna give you the best Christmas gift you will ever get. On your knees." Dennis sinks to the floor, staring up at Michael with a longing he'd never seen till now. "God don't you look so pretty?" He chuckled.

Dennis whimpered. "Dr. Robby please." The use of his official doctoral name turned him on.

"Jesus Christ Whitaker you can't say that and expect me to keep calm."

"Please." He begged, his eyes pleading.

"Strip," Dennis stands quickly and tries to almost rip his clothes off but Michael speaks again, "ah ah ah. Slower." Dennis whimpers and starts with his shoes, putting them next to the other bed. His bright red socks make Michael laugh a bit. "God you were right, they're like stoplights." he chuckled. "Take the watch off. Don't wanna ruin your birthday gift." Dennis sets his watch on the desk in the room. "The vest next. Slowly." Dennis unbuttons the vest and then slides it off, tossing it onto the other bad. Michael moans a bit. "God you look so fucking good Dennis." This makes the MS4 blush and go for his belt. "Yes yes take the belt off and then take off your tie but hand that to me." Dennis hands over his tie and puts his belt on the other bed as well. "The shirt last." Dennis unbuttons the pants and they slide off very slowly, Dennis bending over to get them off. He steps out of them and hides his boner from the older man. "Nope. Uncover it or hand me the belt too, princess." That makes Dennis blush harder and then he uncovers his bulge that is so visible in the very cartoony boxers he had on. They said Santa Baby on the ass cheeks and there was a chimney printed right were Dennis's cock was and it said 'cum down my chimney tonight' on the leg next to the print. Michael laughed softly but then saw Dennis try to cover up.

He grabbed his hand. "hey no no its a funny joke I'm not laughing at you." He kissed his knuckles and pulled Dennis into his lap, unbuttoning his shirt for him. "God you looked so good tonight." He smiled up at the other who seemed to be blushing.

"Thank you. You look wonderful yourself. But why would I be naked if you are still in clothing?"

Michael laughs softly. "Oh yes silly me let me undress." He throws Dennis onto the bed and lets the man watch him undress. Dennis's shirt ends up on the floor next to Michael's other clothes save for the shirt and tie which Dennis helps him undo and then puts it with the other tie. "Oh good idea." He tossed his shirt to the ground finally and pulled Dennis into a long slow kiss. "Mmm fuck yeah." He pulls away and puts Dennis on his back on the bed. "Don't touch anything." He pushes Dennis's legs apart and kisses up them slowly. "Oh you are a good boy." The praise makes Dennis whimper. "You best be good or I can suck you off." Dennis agrees with a huff and Michael kisses the fabric around his cock, teasing him until Dennis begs for it.

"Oh please please Dr. Robby I need you to fuck me." He begs and looks at the doctor with pleading eyes. Michael nods and pulls the boxers off, letting a six inch cock free that is very desperate for attention. Michael takes his own boxers off and Dennis gasps at the cock before him. "You....you..."

"Are at least three inches bigger? Good observation." Michael takes Dennis's hand and uses it to stroke himself, moaning. "Such small hands. Don't stop touching. Not until my cock is inside you." Michael notices the anxiety and decides to help him. "I'll finger you open for me but after that I show no mercy. Okay?" Dennis nods quickl, clearly wanting to see him lose control in the bedroom. Dennis lets out cries and moans as Michael puts one...three....and then his whole fist inside of him, making him cry and whimper but Michael's reassurance calms him everytime. "You are such a good boy." Michael speaks as he pulls out his fist and then lines up. "Ready? The stop word is stop."

Dennis nods but Michael doesn't move, making Dennis whine. "Yes please please I need it." Dennis's hands grab Michael's shoulders but he seizes his moment and uses both ties to 1) gag Dennis and 2) tie his wrists together. He laughs a bit as Dennis struggles before fucking him. Dennis moans and begs and his first orgasm is matched by Michael's but then Michael goes for round two, three, four. Before round five can start, Dennis finally manages to spit the tie at him.  "Stop." He begs. Michael immediately pulls out and lays him down.

"I'm so sorry did I hurt you?" Michael runs a hand over Dennis's body before untying his wrists. "I didn't bruise you did I? God I hope not." He whispered.

"N-No. Was...perfect gift. Hurting. Tired." Michael smiles softly.

"I'll wash you up. You sleep." It was, indeed, a very eventful party.

Chapter Text

Dennis spends all day moving in and unpacking, not stopping until almost 1 am. He checked his phone and swore to himself. He'd promised his mama he'd call her when he got to his new place. He quickly dialed her number and held the phone to his ear. Texas was a one-hour time difference, so he hoped she wouldn't be too mad.

"DENNIS LUTHER WHITAKER, HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?!"

"Mama I am so sorry I forgot, and I was so busy unpacking I thought it was like 8 pm. I'm so sorry, Mama. I just finished."

The line silenced a little. "Okay. Well, you call me when you wake up. Because I need to know my son wasn't ax murdered in his new apartment."

"Mama, I told you they don't have ghosts here, and they have a really nice nursing program."

"My son the nurse." She smiled through the phone. "I miss you, baby."

Dennis teared up a bit. "I miss you too, Mama. I'm going to go on to bed now. I love you. Goodnight." He hung up and sat on his bed, crying into his hands until he fell asleep. He wakes up at 4 am to the sound of crying and jumps out of bed to find the crying, but it isn't until he looks through his whole apartment that he remembers he has no children. He realizes it's coming from next door. He grabs a blanket and walks out into the hallway, knocking on the next door that the crying is clearly coming from.

He knocks harder until the door is opened to reveal a very disheveled man holding a wailing child. "I know, I'm so sorry, Glor—oh." He stops and cocks a brow at Dennis. "Hi. You must be my new neighbor; we heard you moving it. Look, Teagan, it's our new neighbor." The crying child sniffles, and she looks at me. Oh, she's precious.

"Hi, I, um... I heard the crying I wanted to know how I could help?"

"It's nothing. Her nightlight in her room cuts off after a certain time. So she wakes up, she cries, I can't put her back to bed. Its a routine."

"Well...my name is Dennis. And yeah I moved in next door. Hi Teagan. Are you scared of the dark? Me too." Teagan sniffled and looked at her father before looking at Dennis. "Its okay. You know, I have a nightlight in my apartment. Its a battery operated. If you don't mind I'd love to give it to her."

The man looked at his crying daughter. "Would you like that Teag?" The little girl nods and hides her face in his neck. Dennis nods and runs to his apartment before coming back with the nightlight, a small moon light.

"Here you go. The batteries are button batteries so put it where she can't get it." Dennis smiled. "You are so pretty Teagan. You remind me of a Barbie doll. So kind and pretty and loves cuddles with her daddy."

Teagan giggles and hides her face again before looking at Dennis, making him laugh. "What are you in the city for?"

"Oh um...nursing. I'm gonna be a nurse."

"Oh. I'm a doctor at the nearby hospital. So if you need a residency, I got you." Dennis smiled and nodded.

"Thanks. Have a good night Teagan." Dennis went to his room and went baack to sleep.

Dennis had been trying to find his key for well over ten minutes and finally gave up balancing all the groceries in his arms and set them down, investigating his key. He'd been living in the apartment for three months now and everything calmed down and he had a spot at the hospital his neighbor worked at.

"Mr. Dennis!" He looked up and smiled when he saw the lively Teagan running to him. He put his keys down and picked her up, hugging her. "I got to draw at school today and I drew you!" Michael, Teagan's dad, handed him a picture that looked like Dennis in scrubs.

"Oh I love it. It's gonna go on my fridge with all the other pictures." He put her down and went back to looking for his key.

"Missing something?"

"My um...apartment key I can't remember what it looks like." Dennis sighed. "I was gonna do a really nice thing for dinner, and...it's just draining my energy now." Dennis gasps when Michael reaches into his hand and lifts up the apartment key clearly labeled with his apartment number on it. "Oh...that's what it looked like. Okay, um...thanks," he blushed. "Would you want to have dinner with me tonight? The guy I was supposed to have dinner with cancelled."

"Again? I swear you need to stop trying dating apps, Denny. You are going to end up sad and lonely."

"Yeah! Just date my daddy!" Teagan's comment makes both men blush and look away from each other. "You like my daddy, and my daddy likes you! So be happy!"

Dennis looked at Michael as he opened the door. "Do you?"

"Um...to which part?" Michael was suddenly very interested in his own keys.

"Like me?" Dennis blushed darker.

"Yeah." Michael smiled a bit. "If that is okay."

"That's perfect." Dennis leaned up and kissed his cheek before bringing in his groceries. "Dinner is at 6." He stated before shutting the door. "Holy shit."

Michael looked at Teagan. "Looks like we have a date to dress up for, little lady."

"Yay!"

Teagan was asleep on the couch while Dennis tried to stay awake to do his schoolwork and finish his work. Michael walked up and sat next to him, kissing his cheek. "What's going on, Den?"

"I'm so tired, but this is due in two hours, and I didn't finish it yet."

"Den, you know—"

"I know I should've done it sooner, but I couldn't find everything and had to make sure I was grabbing the right stuff, and now Dr. Abbot's mad at me because I almost passed out yesterday." Michael straightened up.

"You what?"

"Yeah, my... I passed out in the middle of my shift. So embarrassing." He sighed. "I'm sorry. I just forgot to eat and sleep, and we just lost a patient, and it hurt." Dennis teared up, crying into Michael's chest.

"I'm here, Den. Let me help you, and we can go to bed."

"Okay. Only if you promise to make breakfast in the morning."

"Of course, baby."

"So you like boys?" Teagan asked softly. "And you like boys?" She started writing things down in her rainbow kitty notebook using a purple crayon. "And you both like each other." She circled something several times. "And people who like each other move in together. So that's why Mr. Dennis is moving in with us?"

Michael nodded. "Precisely. And it makes more sense. There's no pretty princess wallpaper in Mr. Dennis's apartment." Teagan gasped. "Yeah. So we have to make him sparkle."

"Oh, I don't know about that." Dennis blushed. "I, um...I need to go to the bathroom." Dennis got up and ran into the bathroom. He hid behind the door and locked it, ripping his scrub top off and throwing it to the floor. He started to claw at his binder-covered chest, trying to get it off so he could breathe. He had been wearing it too often and too long to be deemed safe.

There was a knock on the bathroom door, but Dennis kept pulling his binder off. He finally got it off and hit the floor, crying and hyperventilating as he rocked back and forth. "No no no." He mumbled.

The door burst open, and it was Michael. He saw Dennis and turned to Teagan. "Hey, princess, go sit in the living room; Daddy needs to help Mr. Dennis breathe."

"Okay." She went into the living room, and Michael shut the door behind himself. He pulled Dennis into his lap and rocked him slower than he rocked himself.

"Hey. Denny, breathe. I'm right here. Breathe." He ran through breathing exercises and kissed his face all over until he calmed down. "There we go. I'm right here." He ran a hand through his hair. "What are you hiding?" He moved one of Dennis's hands and saw his breasts. Bruised, and likely his lungs were damaged. "Oh, sweet boy." He held him while he cried. "Don't you worry. I'm not any less attracted to you, sweet boy." He spent almost fifteen minutes letting him cry until he calmed down. "There we are, baby." He pulled away slowly. "You know what that does to your lungs, pup." He stood up and went to the binder, examining it. "This is also a size too small. We'll buy you a bigger one."

Dennis didn't understand how he was so calm, but that helped him calm down. He put his arms back in front of his breasts, and Michael sighed, pulling off his shirt and handing it to Dennis. "Wear it. At least for today." Dennis slowly took it and put it on. It was just big enough. "I need to examine you, baby." He put Dennis on the counter and went to get the first aid kit.

He came back and bandaged the injuries Dennis visibly had. He didn't say anything unless Dennis spoke. "What's wrong?" "You have small lacerations all around your torso where, I'm guessing, the binder dug into your body." "Are you mad?" "A little, but I am absolutely okay with you being trans." "Why?" "Because I know what it's like to be different." He stood up. "I had scoliosis for a long part of my childhood. I had surgeries, and in high school, I finally had a straight spine." "Really?" "Can't tell now, can you?" "No."

Dennis started to smile as he ran his fingers over the surgery scar that Michael had. "It's beautiful."

"You're handsome." Michael turned around and kissed him deeply. "My good boy." Dennis blushed. "This doesn't mean we have to have sex, by the way. I will wait forever if you ask me to."

It'd been three years. Dennis officially had the RN title after busting his ass, and Michael was still a wonderful doctor, but he became a family doctor.

Dennis sighed as he walked into the house with Teagan. "Daddy!" She and Dennis yell at the same time. Michael pokes his head out of the kitchen and smiles. Dennis runs at him and jumps into his boyfriend's arms. "I win!" He cheered.

Teagan pouted. "No fair! You have long legs, Papa!"

"Aww well, I still win. What are you making for dinner?"

"Well, I was actually thinking that Teagan could go see Auntie Dana for the weekend, and Daddy and Papa are going to have a weekend together. Okay, T?" Teagan smiled and nodded. "Go get packed."

"God, it's hard to believe she'll be eight in October." Dennis smiled and stood up.

"I know. Hard to believe you turn 30 soon too." Dennis groaned at the age reminder. "What? I can't love my much younger boyfriend for having the gall to put up with me?"

"No, because this man is almost 30 and..." He turned around and looked at Michael, whispering, "He is ready to have sex with his boyfriend." Michael blushed, and they both kissed each other deeply.

"Good." Michael whispered and set Dennis on the counter. "You are gonna be the best."

"I already am, though, my love." Dennis teased and kissed him again. "God you want me to fall apart?"

"Not yet. Not where Teagan will hear." Those words made Dennis wanna squirm and he did. "Oh. You like that idea. Maybe not Teagan but the neighbors. They'll hear you scream and beg."

"Why do you do this to me when we can't do much."

"I can do plenty." Michael ran a hand over his thighs. "I know exactly how to make you beg. And I haven't even hear you beg yet." He teased.

Chapter 6: The Vampire and His Willing Blood Supply

Summary:

Dennis was turned into a vampire long ago and has resorted to drinking from corpses. Dr. Robby finds out and discovers that he doesn't mind Dennis drinking from him. Especially in the bedroom.

Lots of blood mention, fluff all around it.

Chapter Text

Dennis was fiending lately and he had no idea why. Any chance he could, he would feed. Did he wish it could be a more humane way? Oh absolutely, but until he finds a more humane way he is feeding from corpses. He is feeding from one in what he thought was the privacy of the morgue when Robby comes in looking for him.

"Whitaker are you in- HOLY SHIT!" Dennis jumps up and covers his mouth, trying to hide his fangs. He started to tear up from fear. "Whitaker are you...drinking from our corpses?" Dennis looked up in shock. "Yeah, I know. I knew the second you walked in. I don't know how but I did."

Dennis dropped his hand and sighed. "I'm sorry. I've just been...really hungry lately. And I don't know how to fix it. I'm sorry."

"Whitaker..." Robby walked over and grabbed a rag, holding his face in his hand, cleaning the blood from his face. "You are a messy eater."

"I know." He blushed, looking at Robby's neck and watching a vein throb. It was like it was calling to him. "You...you need to go."

"I can't. You need to eat or you could eat a patient. So," he sits on a bench, "feed from me." He started to take off his jacket and placed a towel around his neck.

"Wh-What?"

"You heard me, Whitaker, feed from me. I am not going to be angry or cry. I promise. I've had worse happen." Dennis laughed softly. "Wanna prove me wrong, fang boy?" Dennis stood up straight and walked over to Robby, lowering his head and breathing in the...fear? Excitement? Enjoyment? What was this? He shrugged and then took hold of Robby's shoulder and pushed his head away. His teeth sunk in so easily and the warm blood flowed into his mouth.

Robby let out a moan and Dennis decided he liked that, feeding from him more. He presses his tongue against spaces and Robby moans again, gripping Dennis's hip tighter. "Fuck~" He moaned and blushed. "Come on Whitaker I know you must be starving. Don't stop." Robby was right about that. Dennis hadn't fed from a human since he started med school. Four years of blood alternative searching, breaking into morgues, using the morgues in his rotation hospitals, god it felt so good to have real, true, flowing blood. Especially from his boss who seemed to really like it.

Dennis stopped feeding after a few minutes and pulled away. "I'm so sorry." He tried to say, but before he could speak he was pulled down into Robby's lap. "Dr. Robby, I-"

"Do not apologize. You need to feed, you call me. Got it?"

Dennis nodded and then started to clean Dr. Robby's neck up, covering the bite with a bandage. "We should get up there."

"We should." Robby ran a hand over Dennis's scrub pants. "But now you need a different fix." Dennis blushed when he felt the long thick fingers of his boss run over his bulge. "If you do good the rest of shift, I'll give it to you." He made Dennis horny. So horny that if they didn't move as fast as they had, they would have had sex in the morgue next to this bloodlet body.

It was the end of shift and Dennis was standing in the bathroom trying to look at himself in the mirror.

"Thought you would be invisible." Dennis looked to see Robby standing there.

"No. Just a little transparent. Hard to see myself when its too dark but now I've gotten used to it." Robby went to his locker and opened it, starting to change. Dennis couldn't help but stare at the man in the reflection. Tall, broad shoulders, gorgeous. Oh yes, Dennis would get used to- OKAY! Dennis hid his face from Dr. Robby the second he pulled his pants off. Dennis went into the bathroom and stood in the handicap stall for a good few minutes, trying to rearrange himself.

There was a knock on the bathroom door. "Whitaker?" It was Robby. God even the man's name coming from his boss's mouth made him moan. "Whitaker are you okay in there?" Dennis started to palm himself through his sweatpants. "Unlock the stall please so I know you're okay." Dennis pulled his hand away and unlocked the stall, stepping out. "Sorry."

"No no don't apologize. Go you Gen Z and your constant apologies who told you you had to apologize for everything you did?" Dennis didn't answer, biting his lip. "Stop that you'll end up feeding from yourself." He placed a hand on his shoulder and lead him to the parking garage.

"Where are we going?"

"My place. Because I know you definitely are hungry again. Everytime blood spilled in the hospital I had to hold you back like a kid trying to get some candy. You are going to feed as often and as much as you want." He found his car and let Dennis go, unlocking it and opening the passenger door. "Here you go." He helped Dennis in and then got in on the driver side, buckling up. "Buckle up." He started to drive before Dennis did as he told him.

The drive was only twenty minutes and, the second they got inside, Robby had Dennis against a wall, kissing him rough. "Mmmm Dr. Robby wait." Dennis pushed the older man back a bit. "I...I've never had...it before." He blushed red.

"Oh well tonight will be it for your virginity then, fang boy." Robby had used the nickname multilple times during shift so he'd gotten used to the new nickname. Dennis swallowed in anticipation as Robby took his shoes off. "Shoes."  He pointed to Dennis's sneakers which were quickly removed, and that made Robby chuckle. "God are you that desperate?" That hurt his feelings a bit but he said nothing. Dr. Robby noticed though. "Hey, I wasn't saying that as an insult I'm so sorry."

Dennis nodded. "Although, the statement is true." Dennis took the older man's hand and pressed it against his bulge, whimpering as his eyes closed and his head fell back a bit.

"Oh wow. You really need me." Robby picked Dennis up carefully, grunting a bit. Curse his old knees. He carried him to his bedroom and dropped him onto it. He slowly got naked which Dennis took as an invite to do the same. Dennis quickly unzipped his jacket, throwing it to the floor, and then his shirt, and then his sweats, and now he was left in his boxer shorts, trying to make sure he did this correctly. Robby turned around from his undressing and smiled. "Wow. Don't you look ready?" He pulled Dennis to his feet and twirled him a bit. "You ever touched yourself?"

"Ye-yes sir." Dennis spoke, looking at the ground.

"Ooh I like that. Say it again."

"Sir?" Dennis noticed the smirk on Robby's face and smiled a bit, trying to hide his begging fangs.

"Open your mouth." Dennis did so, reluctantly, and Robby pushed his thumb into his mouth, running it over the young man's fangs. "Wow." He whispered and then placed his thumb on top of his tongue. "Do you moan loud?" Dennis shrugged. "Oh I am gonna break you in nicely. But first."

Dennis's heart rate sped up as Robby took the bandage off his neck. Dennis's eyes darkened and before he was given permission, he quickly latched onto the doctor's neck. Robby picked him up and let him do that, sitting on the bed. He took his own boxers off before Dennis's, sucking on two fingers before pushing them inside to open him up. He felt Dennis feed harder and that made Robby groan. "Oh fuck yeah come on feed off of me."

"I'm fucking trying." Dennis moaned through his action. "Fuck so much."

"God you just needed someone to fuck you didn't you?" Robby chuckled and made sure Dennis was opened up enough before lining up. "You ready to lost this virginity?" Dennis nodded, slowing down his feeding. "Almost full aren't you?" Dennis nodded again but let out a gasp when Robby pushed his cock inside him. Some blood dropped onto Robby's chest and stomach and Dennis quickly went after it, licking it up and then returning to the injury.

It took a while but Dennis was finally full. Of blood and Robby's cock. He was trying to apply a bandage to his neck while Robby moved him along his cock. It was so hard to concentrate but, somehow, he did it. He finished bandaging him up and looked up at Robby.

Robby let out a low chuckle. "I'm gonna have to carry wipes on me at all times aren't I, fang boy?" Dennis moaned at the nickname and blushed when Robby's fingers started to stroke him slowly. "Oh yeah there we go." He smirked and leaned up, kissing Dennis. Dennis's body tensed up a bit and he looked into his eyes. "You ready to get fucked properly?" Dennis nodded and Robby moved a bit quicker, pulling out of Dennis and pushing him into the sheets. He put a pillow under Dennis's hips and smiled as he lined back up. "Breathe in." Dennis did so. "Breathe out." Dennis gasped through his breath because Dr. Robby pushed back inside Dennis during it.

"F-Fuck oh god Dr. Robby." He hears the older man chuckle.

"You can call me that all you want. But you should find a new name for me. Don't want you getting hard at the hospital saying it." Robby started to thrust.

"Already fucking do. Can't help it." Dennis moaned and pressed back into Robby, making the older pin his hips down.

"No. Don't move." Robby spoke and, finally, started to fuck Dennis properly. Dennis covered his mouth as fast as he could but it was impossible, blushing and squirming. He finally stopped covering his mouth when Robby pried his hands away from his face. "Don't fucking silence yourself. I wanna hear how good I make you feel, fang boy." Robby's use of the term made Dennis's eyes roll back a little. Now that nickname would be purely sexual. Oh god.

Dennis came on the bed after a few thrusts but Robby wasn't done yet. He talked Dennis through his orgasm, whispering things like 'so good' and 'your ass got tighter when you came baby' and that all made Dennis so glad to hear. The praise was a big thing.

Robby thrusted a bit faster to chase his own orgasm and, at last, came deep inside Dennis. "Oh fuck yeah. That felt..."

"Perfect." Dennis managed to say, smiling back at Robby.

"Yeah. Perfect. Now let me go start the tub, you stay here. I mean it." He pulled out slowly and rubbed the remaining cum on his ass before going and starting the hot water in his tub. He got out some nice washes and such and went to get Dennis. He stopped when he saw he had fallen asleep in the bed. "Aww." He went and got himself washed before deciding to wash Dennis himself. The sheets could be washed later like he had planned before he found out his resident was feeding so sadly.

Chapter Text

Dennis didn't start noticing the coincidences until the fifth occurrence. Creepy notes taped to his apartment door, photos of himself and Robby around the hospital, and even one of Dennis lounging in his apartment. Dennis finally had enough and bought cameras for not only the inside of his apartment but also his front door.

He was working at the hospital when he would get the alerts, but he wouldn't check until after his shift, when he realized that it was a neighbor or his Amazon packages.

He thought everything would calm down, but one night Robby and Dennis are at his apartment watching a movie and painting each other's nails with the most hospital-approved colors.

"No, no, you don't get it This movie is about a whole other guy. You can't possibly think this guy and Nancy are related."

"Well, I'm sorry, but if something like that happened in my house, I would demolish it!" Dennis sits up straighter, which makes the polish smudge, and both men groan.

"You ruined it, Den!" Robby fake argued.

Dennis smiled. "I did not." They moved close to each other, and just as they were about to kiss, Denny looked in his mirrors and screamed, jumping up from the couch. Because there in the reflection was a masked man.

Robby looked at Dennis. "Baby, are you okay?" He turned, and no one was there now. "What's wrong?"

"Okay, um, so I haven't been totally honest with you. I have been getting stalked for the past like...four months, and the guy just won't go away. But I've never seen him before. He's in my apartment. Oh god." Dennis went to his kitchen, and sitting there on his kitchen island is the man.  The...familiarly shaped man. Oh god, no. "Langdon!?"

He pulled off the mask, and there was the biggest reveal since Jon Snow died in GOT. "Hello, you sad excuse of a replacement."

Robby came in and stopped when he saw Langdon. "What are you doing here?"

"Well...it all started about the same time Dennis started." He pointed what was now shown to be a knife at Dennis. "You and him got soooo close, and I was left for dead. And then you busted me. And the hospital fired me. Now, he's going to pay." Langdon jumps off the counter and walks toward the pair.

Robby moves between the two men. "You are insane. Why would you do this? It's your own fault that they fired you."

"No, no, it's his fault. If he hadn't replaced me...why don't you love me?"

"I was...I was never in love with you." Robby saw anger festering in his eyes. "I didn't want you like that."

"But you want a fucking MED STUDENT!? HE'S TWENTY-SIX! Come on, you have to realize it. You have about six more years before he finds another student to fuck!" Langdon jabbed the knife in Dennis's direction.

Robby looked back at Dennis. "Don't believe him, babe. Call 911 right now." Dennis runs out of the kitchen to grab his phone, and Langdon tries to go after him, but don't try that with Robby's baby. He flipped Langdon onto his back and slammed his hand against the floor until he let the knife go. "You sick son of a bitch." Robby sighed.

"You and I had something special, something REAL!" He pleaded, but Robby wouldn't listen.

Cops found multiple types of drugs in Langdon's car, and Langdon ended up going to a psych ward. What they didn't realize was this wouldn't be the last they'd see of him. God no.

Chapter 8: Breathe for Me

Summary:

Professor Robinavitch finds his TA Dennis Whitaker suffering from a panic attack in the library during finals week.
Cute and a lil Angsty
Came up with this because of my own finals anxiety

Chapter Text

Professor Michael Robinavitch, Dr. Robby to his colleagues and Dr. to certain students, was trying so hard to finish writing his final for his medical terminology final he was giving. He taught three medical terminology lecture classes this semester, and everyone seemed to be doing great, including his TA, Dennis. Dennis was taking the class but was the TA for the other two classes and seemed to be doing wonderfully, so he would absolutely pass the final with no argument.

Michael was staring blankly at the flashing cursor on the Word document and finally decided to take a break, standing up from his chair and walking to the door of the study room he'd locked himself into. He unlocked it and stepped out, walking to the vending machine near the bathrooms. He thought he heard someone, but it was almost 8pm, so no one would really be on the campus, would they? Michael shrugged and pulled out his wallet, fishing out a five-dollar bill.

He shoved it into the bill eater after he flattened it and looked at what was offered by the machine. He smiled when he saw the Reese's Cups and clicked 4E. He rocked on his heels as he checked his watch, and that time he could swear he heard something. He picked up his Reese's Cups and went to find what the sound was emanating from. Yes, he's that white.

"Hello?" He looked around and walked around, finding an almost destroyed study space with a student curled up in a corner, rocking back and forth and crying. Not just a student. His student. His TA. Dennis. Michael quickly moved the table away from the corner and picked up the papers, studying them slowly and realizing they were exam study guides. He put them down on the table and then sat next to Dennis. "Hey," he spoke softly.

Dennis thought he would get some extra studying in and do his work and then go home and eat ramen and watch Victoria and Trinity argue about what class to study for first, which they always did. But the second he wrote down his to-do list, he realized he had seven exams to study for, two projects to finish, and he had to figure out if he would TA for Dr. Robinavitch next semester or not. That is what led to him on the floor, crying and shaking and worried he wouldn't be good enough. He looked up when he heard the shuffling and then started crying again when he felt so embarrassed.

Michael pulled Dennis into a hug. "Hey, hey, no, no, you can breathe; it's okay." He realized that Dennis was NOT calming down and took off his hoodie, putting it around Dennis. "There we go." He spoke softly. "Hey. Hey Dennis. It's me. Dr. Robby. It's just me. I need you to breathe, okay?" Dennis tried to nod, choking out a sob. "Okay, I'm going to do this technique with you, but you have to look at me and breathe for me, Dennis."

Dennis looked up at Michael, tears rolling down his cheeks while he looked into his eyes. Michael's heart broke when he saw the boy reacting like this.

"Okay, breathe in while I move my finger up." He stuck his pointer finger out and moved it up in an inclinous movement. Dennis breathed in slowly. "We're climbing a hill. We're going to hold it in when we stop at the top." He stopped moving his finger. "Hold it. Feel the sun on your face. The cold air. There we go, Dennis. Now we're going to go back down the mountain." He moved his finger downward. "And then we are going to climb another mountain." Michael chuckled a bit. "Hold it." Dennis held his breath and did the breathing with the motions. Up, in. At the peak, hold. Down and out. New mountain, hold.

Michael stopped when Dennis nodded softly, and he held Dennis in his lap, letting him sit there in the silence. When Dennis finally spoke, he sniffled. "I have so much to do."

Michael nodded. "I do too. I've locked myself in a study room for the past four hours because my office is distracting." Distracting because of so many things. But Michael would never admit the real reason, the picture of him and Dennis that was on his desk. The day they would both become more than a professor and his TA.

"Okay, so why are we here again?" Dennis asked as he followed behind Michael while holding a bag of McDonald's in his hand.

"Because it's nice to be outside once in a while, Whitaker. You think you, an aspiring doctor, would know that." Michael chuckled and sat down on the grass under a picture-perfect tree. "Sit. We are going to grade and read vocabulary cards while eating."

"And you chose the most unhealthy burgers in the world because...?"

"Because it's good, and I can always eat your food." Dennis gasped, and they both laughed. Michael handed over a stack of papers and a pen to Dennis before going in his bag for vocabulary cards. "Do you think this unit was hard?"

"Well, not really, but I am your TA, so I don't exactly know if I have a disadvantage right now."

"Right now? So you may regret becoming my TA later?" Michael faked shock.

"No. I'm just saying I have a lot of classes, and I just know I'm going to get overwhelmed eventually."

"Well, why take them all?" He asked, pulling a stack of the cards out.

"Because I need to get my GPA up, and I have to be ready for residency in the summer."

"Well, you get one more semester. We both do."

"What?" Dennis perks up from his very close reading of an essay. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, I am going back to the hospital in the summer. I tendered my resignation to the college a few days ago."

Dennis sighed. "So you...you don't plan to be around here much?" He tried to not sound disappointed.

"Oh, you poor thing. I will be around. Just...not in classes or my office." Dennis looks away when tears prick his eyes.

"O-oh." Dennis looked up at Michael and blushed when he realized the man was looking into his eyes.

"It crushes me to realize my favorite TA won't get to see me anymore." Michael cups his cheek, and both men are blushing. "My very favorite."

Dennis looks into his eyes and leans up, pressing his lips against Michael's softly.

They both pull away with a smile and laugh a bit. "So what does this mean?" Dennis asked softly.

"Well...we could be...something. We could be...together." Michael's words made Dennis gasp. "If you don't mind it."

Dennis smiled. "I'd love to. But we should take a selfie to commemorate today as one of the best days of the semester." Dennis grabs his phone from his pocket and opens the camera, pointing it so both men are in the frame. He goes to take the picture, and Michael kisses his cheek. He giggles and then takes one of him kissing Michael's cheek. And then finally one of them smiling.

Dennis smiled up at him a bit. "I just...I have so many decisions to make and things to do."

Michael looked at his watch. 8:15 pm. "We can make decisions and do things at my place. I mean, come on, you have all your project stuff right here. And you know I can cook. You haven't eaten today; I know that. We can make dinner, I can help you study, we'll get some rest, and in the morning we can do more studying and such since classes are over. Hell, we could go to the lecture hall, and I can help you study there."

Dennis nodded. "I'd love that."

Chapter Text

The beeping machines drove him crazy right now. It used to be that he could leave the room and breathe, but now he was hooked up to one, trying to fall asleep while staring at the ceiling. Robby groaned as the lights in his room cut on, and he looked over to see it was Jack.

"Fuck off." He mumbled, covering his eyes.

"Just wanted to say goodnight. Shift is over."

"I know. Now fuck off."

"Say goodnight back." Robby moved his arm and gave Jack a deadpan look. "Fine, fine. Goodnight."

"Goodnight." He mumbled as Jack cut off the lights and left, shutting the door. He shut his eyes and fell asleep for a good bit.

Dennis snuck into Robby's room and shut the door, making sure to be out of view of the window. He sat down in the chair next to his bed and reclined the uncomfortable seat, pulling out his laptop and scrolling through Robby's Netflix to see which show he could ruin for him now. He had his earbuds in, so he didn't hear Robby waking up. It wasn't until Robby pulled on his hand that he noticed. He pulled out one of his earbuds and looked up, smiling when he realized his boyfriend was awake.

Dennis climbed into bed with him, very carefully, and kissed his face all over. "I was so worried about you. I told you it would be serious. But no, Mister Doctor Man refuses to—" He was interrupted by a long, loving kiss. This made Dennis moan and slide into his lap, his shorts riding up a bit as he pulled away and moved a bit.

"There we go. God, you look so cute in what I am assuming is your gym gear." Dennis nodded and smiled. "Do you want to get a workout in?" Robby smirked, making Dennis turn bright fucking pink. "Oh, what is it, princess?" He joked. "Don't want to try it out? We were going to have sex tonight anyways."

"Yes, after a date and ice cream and alcohol, not...not..." Dennis shook his head. "We could get caught. We could be seen."

"Oh dear lord, we could be spotted by the royal guard." Robby joked and rested one of his hands just below where his shorts end. "You sound so concerned." He slid his hand into the shorts and chuckled. "But you aren't. Clearly. No boxers? Bad boy."

Dennis whined as Robby groped his ass and smiled a bit. "Well, I kinda...came in my boxers earlier. So I couldn't."

"Doing what?"

"I was in the bathroom...enjoying myself."

"God, just say you were rubbing your needy cunt to the thought of your hands being mine." Robby removed his hands and laughed a bit when Dennis begged.

"Please, I want to make you feel good." Dennis started to kiss his neck.

"Oh god, right there." He pushed his hand up into Dennis's shorts and pressed his fingers against Dennis's waiting cunt, making the man shiver and fall forward into him. "Falling apart so easily for me, aren't you? Already?" Robby pushed in a finger and chuckled. "Oh, you are soaking wet."

"Fuck...you." Dennis whimpered.

"No no, my dear, I believe the term you meant to say was 'fuck me,' which I'd love to do if I had the ability to. But sadly I cannot."

Dennis groaned and whined. "No, I need you, Michael." God, when Dennis used his real name, it made him hard. "I need you to fuck me. I'll ride you if I have to."

"Then do it. They won't bother us so long as you are a good, quiet puppy." Dennis immediately moved under the covers, and his shorts ended up on the hospital room floor. He pulled the blanket off himself and smiled up at Robby, who patted his thigh. "Come on, puppy."

Dennis nodded and pushed Robby's hospital gown up, blushing when he found the beautiful cock standing tall for him. All for him. "mmm." Dennis shivers a bit and waits barely a second before putting him into his mouth. He let out a groan and gripped the boy's hair.

"That's right, you like that, don't you?" Robby said as he pushed Dennis's head all the way down. "That's right, gag on it for me. I'm right here, puppy." He used his grip to move Dennis's head up and down, making him move at a different pace each time. He stopped holding his hair when Dennis reached up and wrapped a hand around his balls. "Oh, fuck you, puppy. You are going to pay for that. I am going to fuck your pussy so hard you waddle for a week." Dennis whimpered. "That's right, whimper. It's all you can do when I'm fucking this pretty face. Nah, you know what? Fuck it, pull off, give me your body." Dennis pulled himself up and crawled up to Robby, straddling him carefully. "There you are, puppy." Robby cupped his cheek.

"Hi." Dennis was soft in the eyes and clearly needy. Robby looked around the room.

"You know you're a good boy." Robby spoke and found what he was looking for. He grabbed his phone and turned on his camera. "I am going to film you until we both cum. Got it? And when you are done, every time you want to touch yourself, you have to watch this."

Dennis slowly nodded, blushing as Robby set up his camera so they were visible. Dennis blushed and looked into Robby's eyes, a smile playing on his lips a bit. "Ro-Robby."

"Uh-uh. Not my name when my cock is inside you, is it, puppy?" Dennis whines as Robby's cock pushes into him. "Is it?"

"No, no master." Dennis trembles as Robby holds him in place so he can't move. "Master...I..."

"What is it, puppy? Do you need something?" Robby smirked.

"I need...please...please master." Robby chuckled.

"Please what?" Robby snaps and pulls out of Dennis, making him whimper.

"Please master, let me ride you?" Dennis begged. He put his hands on Robby's chest and nuzzled into his neck.

"Oh you wanna ride me, puppy? You really want to bounce don't you?"

"Yes yes yes please master I will be so good I promise."

Robby smiled and lifted Dennis's head. "Of course puppy." He lined back up and slid Dennis down slowly. "Oh there you go puppy you feel that? So hard for my puppy."

"Master is so hard." Dennis moaned softly, Robby raising a brow before using one of his hands to cover his mouth so it would be quieter.

"If they catch us I will fuck your ass so hard you can't move. And not in a nice way. Hear me?" Dennis nodded quickly but Robby knew they'd enjoy anything together. Robby smiled. "Good. Now bounce."

Dennis followed the order and slowly raised and lowered his hips, rocking them in a circular motion as he felt his g-spot be rubbed by this thick cock inside him.

Dennis whimpered into his hand and went to rise up a bit when Robby stopped him. "Be a good boy and let me feel it all. Come on, let it all slide inside you. Don't you want master to cum inside your cunt? Make you so tired?"

Dennis nodded weakly and whimpered, lowering back down so Robby's cock pressed into his cervix. He tried to hide his moans but it was getting difficult.

"Come on puppy go ahead. Grind. I know it feels nice."

Dennis nodded and started to grind, gasping as he felt Robby's cock rubbing on his g-spot. His head fell back and her tried to keep his mouth covered but his hand fell to his side and Robby took over that responsibility. He pulled Dennis into him and placed his hand over his mouth. Dennis's body reacted very harshly as he felt close. He pulled at Robby's hand. "Gon-gonna cum, master."

"Are you?" Robby chuckled lowly. "Not until I cum, got it? I know you can handle it. Or do I need to pull out and tell you to deal with that at home?"

Dennis cried out a bit at the idea of having to take care of himself for this. "No no no I can do it I just need you to sto-stop brushing against my...ya know?"

"You want me to not fuck against your g-spot when the prettiest noises you make are when I do?" Robby chuckled. "Absolutely not. Hold out for me puppy, I will make sure you don't regret it. Okay baby?" Dennis nodded, taking deep breaths with each thrust.

Robby noticed that Dennis started to move sloppily and held his hips, assissting him with the movements. Robby grunted softly. "Okay puppy you want it? You ready?" Dennis looked up with hope in his eyes and nodded quickly, looking more desperate than the first time they had sex. Robby moved his boyfriend faster, growling out a moan as he and Dennis stare at each other. "Three..." Robby panted, feeling Dennis's sweat running down his sides, "Two..." Dennis whimpered and tried to move faster, "One." Robby slammed Dennis down and groaned as he filled his lover up, pulling him into a long loving kiss to keep him quiet.

Dennis rested his head on his boyfriend's shoulder and breathed slowly. "That was..." Dennis giggled. "That was perfect." He pulled Robby into another kiss before slowly getting up. "I need to clean up."

"do you?"

Dennis swiped up his shorts and laughed a bit. "Yeah I do. I have to go home and do our laundry you idiot." He teased, making Robby laugh and smile.

"Have a goodnight baby."

"Goodnight Doctor." Dennis spoke as he got his things together and went home, blushing the whole way home.

Chapter 10: You're Wearing the Wrong Scrubs

Summary:

Dennis wakes up late for work and realizes way too late that the scrubs in his bag were not his. Trinity and Melissa love this.

Mentions of MelLangdon (he's a widow in this I cannot remember if he is in the show or not)

Chapter Text

Dennis had woken up fifteen minutes later than he was supposed to for his alarm and was in such a rush to get to work that he'd never checked to see if he had packed some scrubs. It wasn't until he was wearing the black scrubs that he realized they were massive on him. "Oh shit," he mumbles. Melissa pokes her head in, and her brow furrows.

"Those are...too big." Melissa didn't have a clue where Dennis got the massive scrubs. "Where did you get those?"

Trinity was putting her badge on when she looked up and saw the scrubs were big, too fucking big. "Damn, Huckleberry, how did you even get those?" She laughed, using her nickname for him and walking up to look in the mirror. And then she noticed the blush on his cheeks. "What?" She bit her inner cheek trying to figure out where the scrubs came from. The lightbulb went off. "Oh my god, ARE THOSE?!"

Dennis covers her mouth and shushes her immensely, trying to keep her quiet. "Shut up! Yes. God, you suck. You better not tell anyone."

"Did you two move in?" She asked softly. Dennis nodded.

"I guess in our hurry to go to bed last night," Trinity laughs a bit, "shut up. I guess in our hurry to sleep last night we grabbed the wrong scrubs."

The door opens. "No. No, we didn't." Robby was leaning against the locker room door. "Where are your scrubs?"

"I accidentally grabbed yours. I am so sorry." Dennis walked over to Robby, spouting apologies and explanations. Robby put a hand on his shoulder.

"Whit. Stop." Robby smiled. "I have your scrubs. Stay right here." He walked out of the room, and Dennis blushed before turning to see Trinity with her mouth open and a large smile on her face.

"Oh my god." Trinity burst into laughter, and Melissa smiled. "You...and Robby!?" Trinity laughed harder.

"Since when?" Melissa asked softly.

"Um...New Years." Melissa started laughing with Trinity, making Dennis blush. "This isn't funny. He's kind and sweet, and he's..."

"Good in bed?" Trinity laughed harder.

"Shut up!" Dennis shoved them a bit. "He's my boyfriend, but Abbot doesn't know, and Dana and Gloria told him to keep..." He blushed harder. "They told him to keep his dick away from us."

"And he did not listen." Melissa smiled.

Dennis glared at Melissa. "How did you and Langdon sleep?"

Trinity gasped and laughed harder. "You and...Langdon?! Oh my god." She laughed harder, Melissa's cheeks bright pink.

"He's not my supervisor. And we haven't had sex yet! It's only been a few months. And three dates a month."

"And you live with Robby." Trinity crossed her arms.

"Okay okay stop arguing." They all look over and see Robby and Langdon in the doorway, chuckling. Frank walked over and hugged Melissa.

"Welcome to shift." He chuckled and pulled away from her to go behind her and fix her hair a bit. "You could've asked me to braid it before I left."

"I didn't wanna bother you." She smiled a bit.

"Oh believe me, Denny bothers me enough in the mornings." Robby chuckled and handed over a green pair of scrubs. "For you."

"Thanks."

Trinity pouts. "How am I still single!?" She storms out of the room and both couples laugh a bit. Melissa and Robby walk out first and Frank looks at Dennis.

"Denny?"

"He took me to a Denny's for our first date. It was a long shift and he knew I liked pancakes."

"When did you figure me and Melissa out?"

"A couple months ago. She came to work and was touching her neck a lot. I asked to check her neck just so she could stop and I saw the hickeys." Frank blushed. "Yeah you finally got that under control didn't you." Frank left the room quickly and Dennis started to change into the green scrubs.

He looked in the mirror and smiled at how the scrubs looked on him, having bought them a few weeks ago but not wearing them until now. He went to his locker and cocked a brow when he saw a box in the top shelf. He reached up and pulled it down, opening it. He smiled and saw it was a new badge reel for his scrubs. It said 'I get covered in fluids professionally' and made him laugh before putting it on.

He grabbed his phone and took a mirror selfie, a hand in his pocket and a regular stance. He sent the picture in the group chat that the whole Pitt has together titled 'Pitt Crew' and then put his phone back.

He washed his hands and headed out into the Pitt. This shift will be loooong.

Chapter 11: Frank gives Mel some Peace

Summary:

Melissa and Frank try to have a date night after a long shift.

Chapter Text

The shift was finally over, and Melissa was trying to change into her non-work clothes, but she was so tired. She was the only one left in the locker room and heard a knock on the door. She looked up and smiled a bit when she saw Frank, her boyfriend. She looked back down when the bright lights hit her, and she covered her eyes.

"Hey." Frank got down to the floor criss-cross and was looking up at her. He reached out and moved her hands away from her eyes, smiling up at her. "Hey there, Mel." He whispered to her. "Hey, you look tired. You're still in your scrubs; it's been an hour." He slowly slid her shoes off and set them aside. "Let's get you changed out, huh? And we can go get tacos or something?" Melissa nodded, a small smile on her face. "Alright, stand up."

Frank got off the floor and turned to her locker, unlocking it because he knew the code, and he got out her change of clothes. She looked at Frank, and he slowly looked over at her. "You want to shower?" She nods, and he hands her shower stuff over. "I'll be here for you. You just calm down and enjoy your shower. If you want, I can help you get dressed. Or I can wait at the elevator at the parking lot."

"I'm...." She sighed as she thought about it. "I..." Her breathing got a bit fast, and so Frank immediately took her hands, rubbing his thumbs in the center of her palms.

"Hey, hey, it's all good. I'll make the decisions. You are going to shower, and I will wait here for you. I will help you get dressed, and then we are going to go to your favorite Italian restaurant and get you a bowl of spaghetti with no meatballs and extra sauce, and then we are going to my place, watch Ted Lasso, and then we are going to lie in my bed and rest."

"No sex?" She spoke softly.

"Baby, we've had a long day, and I don't want our first time to be after a super long shift where you almost passed out. So go shower." She nodded and walked to the showers, taking a long time. Frank sat there and looked at his phone, texting the group chat to shut up several times. He chuckled when he saw a video of Dennis at a bar somewhere, and he was dancing, but everyone could tell it was Dennis. "God, is he drunk?" He laughed softly.

He heard small footsteps and looked up to see Melissa wrapped in a towel with her glasses on and her clothes in her hand. He smiled and walked over to her, taking the clothes and putting them into her bag. He made her sit down and started brushing her hair, apologizing at every tangle and pull he had to do. He finished brushing her hair and then remembered the video. "Check the chat; look what Santos sent." He handed her her phone, and she watched the video, laughing a bit while Frank did her hair, deciding to do two French braids and putting them into a bun.

No words needed to be said, and Frank wouldn't say anything while dressing Melissa, not making even one comment about how beautiful she was because Melissa didn't want to hear that. Meissa wanted to hear that he liked her and wanted to be with her in the best way. He didn't want sex from her because he knew she would tell him when she was ready.

"Okay." He spoke as he tied her sneakers on. "Ready?" He asked as he grabbed her bag and his own bag. "I'm going to go pull the car to the elevator. Okay?" He kissed her forehead and went to get the car.

Melissa climbed into the warmed-up car and smiled when Frank handed her a cold Dr. Pepper can. Her favorite drink. She sipped it silently as Frank talked, mentioning a movie he wanted to see with Melissa and how he wanted to spend Christmas with his side of the family and was hoping Melissa would come with him. Melissa nodded along to the words he spoke but stopped responding when they reached the restaurant. She started getting out, but Frank reached across and grabbed her hand.

"No, we don't have to get out. I ordered while I waited for you in the car." He dialed the number for the To Gos. "Hey yes, hi, my name is Frank Langdon, and I am sitting in your to-go space and waiting for my food. It should be spaghetti with meat sauce, no meatballs, with extra sauce, and then a chicken and shrimp alfredo pasta with a side salad." He looked at Melissa and ran a hand through his hair, Melissa blushing and looking away since she found that attractive.

He hung up the phone and looked at Melissa some more. She had on a sweatshirt and some sweatpants. She looked so comfortable. The food was brought to the car, and he put it in Melissa's lap, warning her of the heat. "Careful, darling." He smiled and then drove to his house. He parked in the driveway, and Melissa looked at him. "I have a house now."

"You have a house."

"That apartment was getting too small; there was not enough room for us to cuddle in." He kissed her forehead and then got out, helping Melissa out and grabbing everything. "I'll get you a key soon, honey. I promise." She took the keys from his bag, and he showed her which one it was. She unlocked the house and stepped in, gasping.

"Frank, it's beautiful." She walked into the living room. It was a nice house. "How can you..."

"My ex told me I can have him every other week if I live closer to his school. I had the money, so I did it. I have him next week."

She smiled wider. "Oh my god. It's beautiful, Frank."

"I know, baby. And one day, you and I can live here together." She looks at him and hugs him tightly, letting out a deep sigh of relief as she finally can decompress. She sits down on the familiar couch, and Frank goes to put everything away.

Melissa sent a selfie into the group chat, captioned 'hanging out.' Everyone sent messages, and she cut off her phone when Frank came in.

"Okay, I got the food, and I also got you some Dr. Pepper, and I got myself some Diet Coke." He sat down next to Melissa and turned on Ted Lasso. They ate in silence, and Melissa cuddled up to Frank, falling asleep on his chest in the middle of an episode.

Frank carried her to his room and laid her in the bed, getting a long shower before laying down in bed with her.

Chapter 12: Dr. Robinavitch and Dr. Whitaker-Robinavitch

Summary:

Dennis completely panics when he matches at his husband's hospital, deciding to not tell anyone. But Jack finds out very quickly with how touchy Robby is.

Chapter Text

Robby and Dennis sit in the car before their first shift together, holding hands and finishing their coffees. Robby looked at his husband. "You should take off your ring." Robby points to the simple golden band on his finger.

Dennis looked at his ring and then his husband. "Why?"

"Baby, you could lose it in the hospital. Here." He reaches into his bag and pulls out a thin chain. "I was going to wait, but I figured now was a good time to give it to you." He pulled a similar chain out of his scrub top to show off his own chain. It had two rings on it: a silver one and then a thicker one that he used to fidget with a lot. He helped Dennis put his ring on the chain and then put it around his neck. He smiled up at his husband, and they both looked out their windows before they pulled each other into a deep kiss.

Dennis pulled away first, smiling. "Go. I need to find my badge." Robby nodded.

"See you in there, Dr. Whitaker." He kissed his lips again before heading out.

Dennis smiled and looked in his duffle bag for his badge. "Okay." He looked at it and went wide-eyed. "Fuck." He swore. His badge didn't say Dr. Whitaker. It said Dr. Whitaker-Robinavitch. Oh, he is so screwed. He got out of the car and put his badge on, sighing as he grabbed white bandage tape out of his bag and taped it over the Robinavitch part of his name.

He walked in and badged in before going to the locker room, seeing his husband talking to Gloria. He had hoped no one would recognize him from the photos Mikey had shown them more than likely. He put his stuff away and found he had no notebook, which he kind of didn't need; Mikey always talked to him about the shift after the shift. He ran a hand through his hair and smiled as he tucked the chain into his scrub top.

He stepped out and was greeted by a lot of other med students. He listened to everyone and spoke up when he could. "Dennis Whitaker, MS4." He looked at his husband and smiled a bit. "Nice to meet everyone."

Mikey kept touching Dennis on his shoulders, his back, and his hip; he even 'accidentally' touched Dennis on the ass. But when someone noticed it, it was Jack. He pulled Robby aside after Dennis went to the bathroom, pulling him into an empty room.

"Okay, Robby, you have been touching that med student too much. I need you to stoooop." Jack looked into Robby's eyes.

Robby sighed and looked away from Jack, trying to figure out what to say. "Um...okay?"

"Okay? You never just say 'okay'; you always want to argue." Jack narrowed his eyes. "What are you hiding?" Jack glared at the man. "Did you..." He keeps thinking. "Please tell me your dick has not been near a student." Robby said nothing. "Robby, you dumbass! He's a student! Why would you do that? How did you...why...oh my god, who is going to tell your husband? Oh dear god, I'm not; I don't even know the guy. That'd be so awkward."

"You don't need to. Because he knows." Robby tried to get Jack to understand, but the veteran wouldn't take the hint.

"You told your husband? Oh god, he's...we have to transfer him then. Somehow. I mean, why would you tell your husband? Why would you touch another man?" Robby said nothing, frustrating Jack even further. "Oh my god, say something." Robby started to laugh a bit. "What? What is it?"

"You seriously cannot catch a hint, can you? My husband knows every time I touch the student because...?"

"Because he hacked into the cameras?"

"Seriously?" He groaned and went out to grab Dennis, bringing him into the room. "Jack, meet my husband, Dennis."

Jack looked between Robby and then Dennis, and then Robby again, and then Dennis. "I...who...how...what?"

"Hi, sir." Dennis nodded softly.

"But you don't wear rings, and...you should be proud of your marriage, and...what?"

"Jack, we could lose our rings inside a patient. So," he nudged Dennis, and both men pulled their chains out from under their scrub tops, "we wear these." He smiled at his husband, who was playing with the ring. "You cannot tell anyone." He sighed. "Dennis didn't want people to think he was getting special treatment. So we didn't tell anyone."

"And I had to cover the second half of my last name on the badge with tape." Dennis speaks up. "Can we go back out there, please? I was supposed to catch a rat for Gloria. And she's probably still freaking out."

"Yes." He kissed his husband's cheek and watched him leave. "See? My husband knows because he is my husband. But no one else can find out."

"As long as you promise to keep my secret."

Robby chuckled. "Of course, tell no one about you and Dr. Sam." He leaves the room.

"It's Samira, you ass." Jack sighed. "Ayayaye. What have I gotten myself into?"

Dennis smiled as he found the rat and snapped its neck in the towel, making a resident scream. He looked up and blushed a bit to see his husband watching with pride. "Sorry, was I not supposed to kill them?"

Santos laughed. "God, Huckleberry, what are we going to do with you?"

"Live." He chuckled.

Chapter Text

"Okay do you have your mask?"

"Yes mom." Harrison calls from his bedroom.

"Do you want me to wear something?" Cassie yells up the stairs to her son, putting their mummy dogs in the tupperware.

"No mom. You can wear your scrubs, be a doctor for Halloween."

"I'm a doctor everyday, Harrison." She comes up the stairs and smiles as she sees Harrison in his costume. "Look at you." She smiles more. "My murderous animatronic." She laughs a bit.

"Mooom." He pulls away from her attempt to pinch his cheek. "I'm not cute. I'm Golden Freddy." Harrison gestures to his meticulous ccostume his dad made for him. "Can you put the mask on me?"

"Not until we get to the first neighborhood. Also, why don't I wear my old guard costume? I could be the guard guy from the movie."

"No mom you can't...wait...you could be Vanessa, the cop who is also Michael Afton's daughter."

"Okay you and I are gonna have to watch the movie tomorrow."

"I can't."

"Yes you can, I'm not making you go to school the day after Halloween that's insane." Cassie chuckled. "Okay let me go find the old costume and then we can go to the neighborhood."

"Why are we stopping in that neighborhood anyways?" Harrison asks as Cassie walks out.

"Because Dana would like to get a picture of you in your costume. And I promised we'd go." She puts the costume on. It's a little loose on her now but she sees it as progress. She grabs a jacket and their food, helping Harrison into the backseat of the car. "And she also said she was dressing up too." Cassie smiled and put Harrison's mask in the passenger seat. "Alright ready?"

"Ready." Harrison gave her a smile as she started the car, driving to the neighborhood Dana lived in. She was getting texts in the Pitt Crew chat but ignored it, seeing someone was sending pictures.

They got there and weren't expecting to see what they did. A whole haunted mansion type scene in front of Dana's house. Harrison gasped and demanded they get out quickly so they could get candy here, which was Cassie's plan. She helped Harrison put his mask on and directed him up to Dana's porch.

"Happy Halloween!" She spoke as she looked up and smiled when she saw Victoria Javadi, standing on the porch passing out candy. She looked gorgeous in her costume. She was dressed as Princess Jasmine. "Wow."

"Cool costume!" Harrison yells through his mask. "Wait you work with my mom!"

"Yeah." Victoria smiled as she looked at Cassie, her cheeks burning a bit as she looks at her. "What are you?"

Cassie chuckled. "Um...Vanessa Afton I guess, Harrison didn't explain it very well."

Victoria nodded. "Oh yes yes I love the movie. Are you excited for the second one?"

"Oh yeah! My dad is taking me to see it!" Harrison laughs.

"Yeah they love that stuff. His dad helped him make the costume. I could never." She laughed. "I just dressed up because he said I had to."

"Well it is Halloween." Victoria tossed some candy into another kid's pail. "So are you guys just getting out?"

"Yeah this is actually our first house."

"Well that's cool. Dana got called in, her cover didn't show up. Let me take a picture of you guys for her." Victoria pulls her phone out of her pocket and opens the camera. "Harrison pretend you are gonna eat Cassie." God hearing Victoria say her name made her smile. Harrison pretended to try and bite his mom, making her pretend to scream. Victoria and Cassie both laughed when they looked at the picture. It looked amazing.

"You know...Harrison you have your phone. Do you want me to walk with you?"

Harrison understood what his mom was saying. "Not really. I mean we're already here so you could hang out with her while I go get a ton of candy?"

"Yeah that sounds great. Be back before 9 okay? I have to make sure I get some sleep tonight I work in the morning."

"Okay mom. Be safe. Don't let anyone steal the candy."

"Call me if something happens." Cassie stands next to Victoria as they watch Harrison walk away and kids come up the walkway. "Happy Halloween guys oh my goodness I love these outfits."

Victoria went inside quickly and came out with some chairs. "Dana is letting me stay with her." She said softly.

"Oh why?" Cassie asked as a kid came up to get candy. When the kid left, she looked at Victoria and noticed the nervousness.

"I told her I was bisexual and she wasn't a fan of that."

"Well that's a shit move. Harrison loves having a bisexual mom. He always sends me pictures of his teachers to try and get me to date them so he can get better grades." Cassie laughed.

"Oh my goodness." Victoria laughed.

"Yeah he is hilarious. How did you tell her?"

"I told her on a day she had off, cut off my phone, went to work, and came home to find she'd kinda thrown me out."

"Well that sucks. You are welcome at my place if you need a break from Dana. Especially when you see her everyday."

"I'll keep that in mind." Victoria leaned her head on Cassie's shoulder and smiled. "I'm cold."

Cassie laughed and took her jacket off, wrapping it around Victoria. "Here. You look cold."

Chapter 14: MS4 Can Sing, And Is Traumatized

Summary:

Robby and Jack go to a bar to get drunk after a shift and find out that Dennis can sing.
They try to bed him but then they find out Dennis is more vulnerable than they thought.

Warnings: mentions of self harm

Chapter Text

Robby sighed as he looked at his boyfriend at the end of the shift. "That was a shitshow." He stated, making the vet laugh as they got changed. "I was thinking we could go get drunk down at Henry's? Remember when we used to go there for half-priced shot night?" Jack winced at the memory.

"Not exactly my favorite memories. Hell, they are barely memories." He chuckled a bit. "But yeah. We can go. I am craving loaded french fries and a beer."

"God, grease and beer sounds delicious right now." Robby stood behind his boyfriend and looked at him in the mirror, kissing his neck. The vet shivered a bit at the simple act, feeling so nervous about being with him in public. "And we can go home and sleep after." Robby kissed behind his ear and smiled. "Okay?"

"Okay." He smiled and grabbed his cane, walking with him down to the bar. They both groaned when they saw 'KARAOKE NIGHT' in big neon letters on a chalkboard sign outside the door. "Oh god no. Off-tune singing? I'll need more than beer, Mike." Jack looked at his boyfriend as they walked in. The off-tune crooning of a clearly drunk woman singing I Will Always Love You filled their ears, and both men went to the bar, Jack pulling both their wallets out and showing the bartender both IDs before putting them back in his pocket, hopping on the barstool, and raising his pants leg to pop off the prosthetic. He groaned softly as he pulled it off, and Robby set it down next to their bags. He ordered both of them whiskey and cokes, and they sipped those while figuring out what they wanted to eat.

Robby realized how far apart the men were and pulled his boyfriend so they were hip to hip while reading the menu. He could hear Jack mumbling about what he didn't want and why and put a hand on the menu. "We will get the loaded french fries and two barbecue blackout bacon burgers. All the stuff." He nodded at the bartender and then looked at Jack. "What's wrong?"

"I'm just trying to stop thinking about tonight. That little boy could've died. His mother could've died. And his father didn't care. I just don't understand how someone can hurt the people they love so much."

"Joaquin," the use of his real name made Jack look up at him, "you cannot think like that after every shift. We had some bad, we had some good, but right now we have the outside. We have the piece. You never let the outside affect the in." Jack smiled.

"I mean, I guess I was just hoping we could do more." Jack sighed. "I mean he was terrified of his dad. You saw it right?"

"I mean yeah. I saw that kid scream when his dad walked into the ER. And he had not a scratch on him."

"But they all lived, and they have to go home with him. And unless she divorces him or he changes, that kid will be back." Jack finished his drink and waved the bartender down for another one. The drunk woman finished her song and then cheers broke out as another person took the stage. The men both looked over to see Dennis Witaker, MS4. "Woah." Jack whispered. He looked totally different outside of his scrubs. He had on a hoodie and some sweatpants and he sat down on the stool on stage as the music began.

And Dennis's voice was soft and gorgeous. Not too deep and clearly trained. His accent shined through while he poured his heart into Dial Drunk by Noah Kahan. Both men watched as Dennis knew every word and even added small pieces into his song. When it ended, they clapped with the crowd. Robby waved down the bartender. "Send him another of whatever he's drinking, on us." The bartender looked at Dennis and scoffed.

"He's been drinking juice all night. Won't even order alcohol in it."

"Send him a whiskey and coke, on us." Jack spoke, smiling up at Mike as they opened their phones and took a selfie. They were still old men so it wasn't the best angle but they loved taking selfies together.

Mike groaned a bit as he sat down and the food came over. They ate in silence until they saw Dennis looking around and then spotting the two men. They waved at him and his cheeks burst bright red as he looked back down. "Do you think he'd let us take him home?" Mike spoke. It wasn't the first time they'd talked about taking the MS4 with them. And god did Jack want to.

"Maybe." Jack looked at his boyfriend. "You gonna be able to get it up if we do?"

"Are you gonna feel capable?" Mike teased, pulling his boyfriend into a loving kiss. "Cause I will be honest I am getting hard right now." Jack reached and found that his boyfriend was, in fact, hard as a rock.

"Oh god. Really? Oh you know I'm capable." They both laugh. "Why don't you talk to him?" Jack smiled.

"I will." He kissed his cheek and walked over to where Dennis sat to find that he was sitting with Santos, Javadi, and King. "Whitaker." He spoke. All four of them turned to see their attending.

"Dr. Robby." Dennis blushed a bit. "Hi. Thanks for the drink."

"Well when we heard you were only drinking juice, we had to give you something."

"We?" Santos looked around and then spotted Dr. Abbot, waving awkwardly, but the man wasn't paying attention to her. He was staring at his boyfriend. "Dr. Abbot looks absolutely lovesick." She giggled.

"Would you want to give them a girls night and come eat with us? We figured you'd want to get some food on you before you go anywhere."

Melissa nodded. "Go. We love you but we need a girls night."

Victoria sheepishly nodded. "Yeah we only came here to watch you sing."

"Because we care." Santos added, kicking the back of Vic's seat. "Go enjoy your time. We are gonna go get drunk somewhere." The girls paid for their stuff and left, leaving Dennis next to Robby.

"Are you coming?"

"Yes Dr. Robby."

"You don't have to call me doctor all the time. Just Robby is fine. Or Michael." He smiled and took Dennis to where Jack was sitting, staring down the last bite of his burger. "I'll eat it for you." He spoke and Jack turned to see his boyfriend and Dennis.

"Oh thank god. Please. I wanna finish it but I just can't." Jack handed over the last bite of his burger and Mike popped it into his mouth. "Hi Whitaker. We heard you singing. You're really good."

Dennis smiles a bit. "Thanks Dr. Abbot."

"You can call me Jack." Michael glared at his boyfriend before he sighed. "Joaquin. You can call me Joaquin." Michael smiled and pulled a barstool to be between them both for Dennis, making room for him. Dennis sits in the seat and smiles at them both.

"Joaquin is such a cool name." Dennis beams and blushes when Michael places a fry in front of him. He reaches out to take it but Mike stops him, shaking his head. So Dennis leaned forward and took a bite out of the fry. It had cheese and bacon on it and made him smile.

"Thank you. It's not good for emergent situations so everyone calls me Jack."

"Not everyone." Mike butts in. "I call you Joaquin all the time."

"Not at work." Jack chuckles.

"Well that is emergent situations." Mike chuckled, Dennis chuckled too.

"That's nice. So what did you guys want from me?"

"What?" Jack looked at Robby. "You didn't tell him?"

"Tell me what? Dr.- Mike said that he wanted to let the girls have a girls night so he came to get me."

"Oh my god that's hilarious." Jack laughed but stopped when his head started to hurt a bit. "No no no we did want to sit with you but..." Jack downed the rest of his drink. "we wanted to talk to you about coming home with us." Mike and Dennis blushed because god he was blunt. "It wouldn't hurt anything, we live right up the street, and you don't have to do too much if you don't want to."

"Only if you want. We will totally let you use our place as a crash pad too." Mike spoke, making Jack nod.

Dennis tried to not let his mind run, images of Jack and Mike sandwiching him between them and touching him, god he needed to feel that. He covered his boner with his hand and looked away. Jack chuckled and Michael did too.

"let's go then." Dennis spoke quickly. both men nodded and paid for everything before leaving, not letting Dennis lift a finger. Jack held his cane to walk while Michael had the prosthetic in their bags. They reached the apartment building quickly and Dennis gasped when they entered the elevator, being pressed against the wall be Michael while Jack propped himself up in the corner. Dennis looked into Mike's eyes and then looked at Jack. "Wait wait not here not yet." He spoke and Michael immediately backed up from him, leaning next to Jack. They reached their floor and the men lead him down a long hallway to a door. Michael fished out his keys and unlocked the door, letting the two other men go in first before shutting the door and locking it.

Dennis toed his shoes off and left them by the door, looking around the apartment silently. Mike sat down next to Jack on the couch and they both took off their shoes together in perfect sync. They'd done this before. Every day. Dennis just stands there feeling a bit out of place.

Mike gets up and walks over to him, pulling him towards the couch. Dennis sits between the two men. "Okay Dennis, we won't do anything you don't want."

"We want to make sure you enjoy this all the way." Jack speaks softly. "So if we do something wrong, say so."

Dennis nods. "I um...I want you both to..." Dennis put his head in his handsout of pure embarrassment.

"Tell us, Dennis." Mike spoke, lifting Dennis's head. "Tell us what you want. In fact, pretend this is a dream for you, tell us what we do in the dream."

Dennis nodded and took deep breaths. "Well...first you both are kissing my neck and..." Dennis blushed red, "and touching me."

Mike started kissing first, making Dennis moan softly as he felt the rough kisses along his neck. "What next, baby?" Jack spoke. Dennis looked at Jack and he pressed his thighs together.

"And then you both end up telling me what to do. I don't really take control in them. I don't like control."

"You don't?" Mike chuckles against his skin. "Well then you need to start stripping." Dennis stands up and slowly takes off each layer. First his hoodie, which revealed a short sleeved t-shirt over a long sleeved t-shirt, and then his sweatpants, which then exposed Dennis was wearing leggings underneath which hugged his figure very nicely for both men.

Jack leaned back and started to stroke himself through his pants, Mike kissing him and doing the same. Dennis just stood still until Mike noticed and pulled away, making Jack whine a bit. "keep going. No one said stop." Mike chuckled deeply. "Or do you want us to stare at you?" Dennis nodded but then Mike kept kissing Jack, toying with him. Dennis sighed.

"Yes." He mumbled.

"What was that? Couldn't hear you." Jack moaned softly as Mike started leaving hickeys.

"I want you to look at me when I do this." Dennis stated firmly, making both men smile as they move to watch Dennis better. Dennis pulled his socks off and tossed them to his shoes, cheering a bit when one landed in a shoe. He realized they were now smiling more and he quickly got back to stripping, taking the short sleeve shirt off and then the long sleeved one and pulling his leggings down off his legs. Dennis is wearing a cross pendant necklace and his fingers started to play with the chain. He shivered as his warm skin felt the cold air. His skin was bare save for the boxers he had on and Jack made a turning motion with his finger, Dennis slowly turning around for them to look at him. Mike growled when Dennis's back faced them.

Scars. Countless scars and injuries. Who would hurt him? "Who did these?" Dennis didn't answer him, ashamed. "Who?" Mike walked up to him and ran a hand over a particularly long slash scar in his back.

Dennis let out a cry of pain and Mike knew what this was. "Oh baby." He kissed his shoulders. "You are beautiful. Do not hurt your body anymore. Let us show you how good the world feels when you let yourself enjoy it."

Dennis nods softly. "I'm sorry." He chokes out a sob and Jack motions them over to him. He pulls Dennis into his lap and holds him, running a hand through his hair to calm him.

"Breathe for us star. Breathe." He kissed his forehead. Dennis cried into his chest and both men let their sexual needs be pushed away. Dennis needed something else. he needed care, he needed love. "We're going to clean these up."

Mike points out a very old one. "This one is infected." he doesn't touch it. "We're going to make sure your back is okay and then you are going to eat." Mike goes to find their first aid kit in the pantry and comes back with a big box. "Lay on your stomach for us. We're going to take care of these."

Jack laid Dennis on the couch on his stomach and both men became tentative, cleaning and disinfecting cuts, bandaging and stitching up a couple, and talking Dennis through it all. Dennis gets hard as they kiss his skin and call him star and baby and 'little mouse' oh god that makes him start to grind on the couch.

Michael smiles. "Oh little mouse, do you wanna suck my cock first and then we can have Jack fuck you and then we'll jerk you off together?" Dennis nods, whimpering. "Words."

"Yes yes please please I need it." He begs, sitting up carefully. "I need to feel cum in me somehow please please I need it." Jack and Michael look at each other and nod, stripping Dennis out of his boxers and then themselves. God Dennis would fit his mouth around a small bit but not all of it.

Jack and Michael both want to kiss him but they know he needs to take it slow. "Okay, baby, Michael is gonna fuck your mouth slowly and I am gonna have to open you up for my cock baby."

"Wait wait!" Dennis spoke quickly. "C-Condoms." He managed to stutter out, a bit nervous. He was a serious virgin and he didn't want to tell them that but he needed to be careful.

"Okay baby. Michael will you go get them? I'm gonna open him up for me." Jack spoke, pulling Dennis over his lap and then rubbing his hand over the younger man's ass. "You wanna suck on my fingers so I can open you good baby?" Dennis nodded and opened his mouth when Jack's fingers tapped on his lips.

He made sure his mouth was open wide for Jack and then his lips shut around the three fingers. The oral fixation calming his mind, he could only focus on how good he wanted to feel. He looked back at Jack and smiled a bit when Jack rubbed his side. "Good boy, keep going. Michael did you find them?" He calls out.

Michael comes from around the corner blushing. "Sorry I kinda...got distracted." Dennis immediately started staring at the bulge in his pants, gasping when he saw there was precum on the spot. "I couldn't help it god you look so fucking good baby." Michael walked over and tossed the condoms onto the couch, kissing Jack so hard. "You both look so good for me. God I wanna see you split him open baby while he sucks me off."

Jack moaned softly and his cheeks went red. It was clear they never knew who was dominant until sex started. "fuck hurry up then I wanna fuck him already."

"No you just want him to fuck you." Dennis's words brought both men back to what was really happening. "It's true. And I wouldn't mind just watching if you want."

Michael smirked. "You just want to watch me split him open so you know how hard its gonna be to fit me inside you. God now I wanna just fuck him while he fucks you."

Jack moaned softly. "Is that an option? fuck Michael I need you so badly I cannot keep waiting."

"Oh my god bedroom now. Both of you." Dennis spoke, blushing as both men looked at him. "You're taking too long to fuck me." He complained. "I need you both now. While I'm still running high on adrenaline and not feeling completely embarrassing."

"Oh so you'd be embarrassed otherwise?" Michael chuckled. "Sorry we're embarrassing."

Dennis backtracked. "No no no its just that I've never done this before and I really wanna be good enough."

Jack looked at Dennis and pulled him so their bulges were touching. "You're a virgin baby? Oh this is such a bad idea but god I can't keep pretending." Jack sat Dennis down on the couch and quickly stripped, pulling Michael into a rough kiss as he helped him strip as well. Both men were incredibly hard and Dennis knew they'd break him in nicely.

Michael rolled a condom onto himself and laid Jack down. "I've got the best idea. Why don't you sit on his face Dennis? And I will fuck him wide open." Dennis blushed and nodded softly, taking his boxers off. Both men smiled and Michael pulled him into a kiss, making him sit on Jack's face. "Good boy. Jack you know what to do. I'm gonna fuck you and if he cums before I do, you are gonna watch me fuck him. But if I cum first, you get to fuck him. Got it?" Jack gave a thumbs up and pulled Dennis closer by his thighs and ass, spreading Dennis open for him.

Dennis whimpered and blushed. "I...I'm sorry I didn't tell you." He spoke simply. Michael cupped his cheek and smiled.

"I'd love to help you and let us be your first, baby. I'd never have said no if you asked."

Dennis smiled and kissed him before pulling away to moan when Jack's tongue prods at his hole. He grips the couch cushion and smiles as he realizes this is happening. Oh god.

Michael lines up with Jack's hole and smiles. "Ready Dennis? He's a good boy when he does what he's told." Dennis nods and Michael pushes in, groaning as Jack squeezes him. "Fuck god we are not gonna recover very quickly tonight if that is how you squeeze me, baby."

Jack pushes his tongue into Dennis and it makes the young man cover his mouth, trying to hide his noises. Michael shook his head and pulled his hands away.

Michael stayed still for far too long for Jack so he started to try and move himself on Michael's cock, making the man grip his hips and thrust in harder and harder with each moment. Dennis kissed Michael so much during this that their lips were bright red. "Fuck fuck I'm gonna cum, I know that. Fuck fuck I need Jack to fuck me please Daddy?" Dennis realized what he said and Michael smirked.

"Say it again baby, I need you to say that again." Michael spoke, thrusting harder into Jack.

Dennis cried out. "Daddy please I need him to fuck me. I need you both to kiss me and touch me."

Michael nodded. "Come on baby, I'll push him into you." Michael rolled the condom onto Jack and helped Dennis come over to him. "I want him to look at you. So carefully turn around." Dennis finally got into a good position and then Michael pushed Jack's tip into him, making him whimper and cry out a bit. "Breathe baby." Michael held Dennis closely and pushed Jack all the way in. "Good boys. Oh god I could get used to having two of you." He kissed Dennis's shoulder and his eyes stuck to the scars and bandages. It killed him inside but he didn't want to think about that, he wanted to focus on the good. Dennis was letting them take his virginity.

"Fuck fuck its too much." Dennis cried out and Michael helped him pull Jack's cock out enough so he could be comfortable. Tears fell down Dennis's face but both men started comforting him quickly. 'It's okay's and 'you are so good baby's helped Dennis breathe and calm down. Jack didn't need to go all the way in and he didn't mind helping Dennis in other ways.

"Baby I don't need to cum all the time. So take your sweet time."

"Yeah I think we will be worn out after this one round." Michael chuckles and kisses Dennis's neck where the claps of the necklace met the chain. "Are you a god-fearing man, baby?"

"I don't know. I stopped trying to figure it out a long time ago." Dennis smiled a bit. "Its for me to toy with when I'm nervous. I had a bad skin picking disorder so my mama got me this to help me stop."

"Well it didn't work too well if your back is what happens."

"I get bad somedays. I need to feel the pain. It feels good sometimes. I can't help it."

"We understand. We should get you something else to help you." Jack smiled. "But you don't have to stop wearing it. It's cute on you."

Dennis smiled. "Okay stop flirting with me." He giggled. This was too much cuteness.

Michael nodded. "You heard him. I'm gonna start thrusting. Match me."

And this is how the next fifteen minutes or so went. Both men competing to make Dennis cum with Michael starting to jerk him off while fucking Jack but the competing stopped when Dennis came all over himself and Michael's hand, panting and resting his hands on Jack's shoulder. They all panted and laughed a bit as Dennis looked at them both. "Looks like I lose." Dennis speaks through rough pants and laughs.

"Well that doesn't mean we can't compete." Jack chuckled. "Let me cum for you sweetheart." He kissed Dennis slowly and started to fuck him a bit better, harder, faster. Dennis let out whines and moans and whimpers and Jack finally came after three or four minutes and Michael came too. They both started to kiss Dennis and Jack let out a huff of relief as they pulled out slowly. Jack's body was sore and he knew he'd be in a lot of pain tomorrow.

"Dennis, baby, go to our bedroom and start the hot water. I'm gonna get Jack to the bedroom. It takes sometime."

"This is why we stopped having couch sex." Jack smiled and Dennis disappeared. "Can we keep him?" He asked a bit playfully.

"Well that's up to him isn't that?" Michael threw away the condoms before carrying Jack to the bedroom. Both men were quite strong and Jack didn't weigh that much so it was easier that if Jack tried to carry Michael.

"Which way is the hot water?" Dennis asks, poking his head out of the bathroom.

"The left." Michael smiled. They would never be the same again.

Chapter 15: Rabbot Through The Years

Summary:

Jack and Michael first met as freshman at the same college. This is their memories together.

In this, Jack is not a military vet, he's a military brat.

Chapter Text

Joaquin Abbot, Freshman. It's typed out on a sticker on his dorm room door and it's embarrassing. He uses his key to scratch out his first name and looks around before unlocking the door and coming into his dorm. The room was barely used since Jack was rarely inside it. He mostly slept in the library study rooms and in his car after his shift at the Zaxby's up the road. He wouldn't have to work at the place if his parents would have paid his tuition. But they refused. And sure, financial aid helped most of it, but he still had to cover a lot of his tuition.

He was shocked to find a gentleman passed out in the other bed. His roommate, Michael Robinavitch according to the sticker next to his. He was under covers but Jack could see the expanse of his shoulder blades, and his arms. He was strong under there. He looked amazing. Jack shook his head and dropped his backpack onto his desk, kicking his shoes off.

Michael woke up to the sound and noticed the other man. "Oh hey. You must be my elusive roommate. I'm Michael but my friends call me Robby. You're...Joaquin right?"

Jack straightened up and turned to see the man sitting up. He had a star of David pendant on around a small golden chain. And he had a very gorgeous chest. "Um...yeah." Jack spoke simply. "Sorry I just work a lot." Why was he apologizing? And why did his name sound so good coming from his lips.

"Oh yeah same. This is my one night off. Where do you work?" And then he put on glasses. Oh god.

"Um I work at Zaxby's down the road." Jack went to his small closet like space and grabbed a hoodie and sweatpants. "You?"

"I work at the bookstore up on tenth." He mumbled. Jack changed out of his view and then jumped up onto his bed.

"Cool. I should get some sleep."

"Me too. Goodnight Joaquin."

"Goodnight Michael."

Michael stares at his finals schedule with hatred as he hears the door to the bathroom open. Joaquin had started coming back to the dorm more often but Michael didn't mind it. "Hey."

Joaquin looked at him and smiled. "Hey. You looking at your schedule?"

"Yeah its so fucked. I have an exam at 8am and then another one at like four and then I have one on Friday before winter break at 10 and then one at 6pm."

"Yeesh. I have one at eight every day of the exam week and then our Algebra final Friday. Wanna study together?"

"God yes. I need someone to help me." Michael smiled and moved, pulling Joaquin up onto his bed. "So can I ask a question?"

"Yeah."

"I've never seen you with anyone ever. What's up with that?"

"Oh well...I mean the girls here aren't super interesting and the guys don't seem too gay so." Joaquin chuckled. "I could ask you the same."

"Well I was into one girl but she said she'd rather eat used toilet paper than date me. And the guy I like isn't really sending the right signals."

Both men looked into each others eyes. "So you're...gay?" Jack asks softly.

"Oh well um maybe I don't know actually but men are nice, women are nice, so I guess...bisexual? You?"

"That makes a lot of sense. And yeah me too. Bisexual sounds right." Michael and Jack both laughed a bit and Jack leaned into Michael a bit as they pulled their Algebra textbooks out to study.

It wasn't supposed to be this nerve wrecking. Just ask him to be your boyfriend and if he says no, you can go get drunk. That's all Michael was saying to himself while he waited for Joaquin to come back from work. They were both now med students, living together off campus, and Joaquin was still working his ass off to pay his tuition. Michael was pacing all night and sighed in relief as he heard the key in the door. He stood there waiting for him to come in. He heard soft swearing and smiled a bit as he heard the complaining he always did about the key not working. He finally gave in and opened the door.

"Hey Mikey." Joaquin smiled. "Sorry I'm late, my manager wanted to talk to me about something and then they wanted me to close so I did and then I remembered I agreed to come home so we could watch that movie together but-" He stopped when he saw the stuff on their kitchen table. He smiled and looked at Mike. "You didn't." He walked over and looked at everything. A very nice drawing Michael did of Joaquin, butterscotch candies that he ate all the time, packs of gum, a new hoodie and then also a hand made card.

"Happy birthday." Michael smiled. "And I want you to read the card first." He hands over the card and Joaquin laughs softly as he reads it.

He freezes when he sees the last few sentences. 'Is it corny to say I love you on your birthday? Is it bad I want to be your boyfriend? Happy birthday JJ, Michael' He looked up at him and noticed Michael was putting his things away. "Oh my god." He whispered and smiled. "I'd love that." He looked up at the man and blushed softly. "Michael."

Mike looked at him. "yes?" He spoke slyly with a smirk.

Joaquin laughed softly and pulled him into a kiss by his sweater. They both laughed softly when they pulled away. "Yes, all the way yes. I will be your boyfriend."

Michael hooped and picked up Joaquin, taking him into their bedroom. They shared a bedroom and a bed for so long because it was mostly all they could afford, and they were really gay for each other.

Joaquin was late. Two hours late. They were supposed to go out tonight but now Michael was sitting on the couch with a bowl of chips watching a random movie. The house phone rang and so he got up, putting the bowl down before he headed to the kitchen, answering. "Michael speaking."

"Hello sir is this Michael Ro-bina-vitch?" The woman emphasized the wrong parts.

"um yeah it is who is this?" He asks, looking at the clock. "And why are you calling at 10 at night?"

"Hello my name is Elana Rivers, I work at Pittsburgh Medical Hospital, I'm calling because a one...Joa-quin Abbot is in our ER right now."

"What? Joaquin? He's still there? He should've been off a while ago what happened?"

"Well, sir, he came in from an accident. You are listed as his emergency contact. Was I not supposed to call you?" Michael's stomach dropped. "Sir? Are you there?"

"I'll be there in ten minutes." He hung up before she could say anything and quickly got some pants on and a pair of shoes, grabbing his wallet and keys and running to his car. He broke a couple laws to get to the hospital and parked in a random spot. He ran into the hospital and looked around. He walked up to the nurse. "Hi um my name is Michael Robinavitch I was called to say my...friend is in the hospital ER here?"

The woman looked up. "Ah yes I was the one who called. He's in surgery now. But the doctor will tell you more." She got up and lead Michael to where a doctor was standing, writing a chart. "Dr. Quincy, this is Mr. Abbot's emegency contact." She left Michael and the doctor alone.

"What happened?"

"Mr. Abbot-"

"Dr. Abbot. We're both doctors. You don't have to make up terms or anything just straight truth."

"Dr. Abbot suffered a serious accident. He was hit by a drunk driver just after his shift. He was walking."

"Yeah he doesn't like to drive sometimes. What happened?"

"His leg was degloved. And his knee was shattered. We are so sorry."

"What? What are you talking about? Just tell me what's going to happen?"

"We have to amputate his leg. He suffered a serious injury, sir." Amputation. The last thing Joaquin probably ever thought would happen to him.

"Wait so you have to remove his leg? Oh god." He mumbled. "Is he in surgery? Where will he be after that?"

"Well he is in surgery. He's most likely being put in the ICU to monitor because...sir he wasn't conscious when he was brought in." Michael looked at him with tears in his eyes. "I can come get you when he's out of surgery."

"Please." Michael couldn't sit down in the waiting room. All he did was pace. He dialed the hospital he would be doing his rotation at and let them know he might not be able to come in in the morning because of an emergency. They understood and he hung up quickly.

He was pacing for three hours before the doctor came in. "He's in his room. Come with me." Michael walked with one thought in mind, his lover.

His breath stopped when he saw him. Joaquin was in the hospital bed, asleep. He had a breathing tube in. And he had lots of bandages on. He slowly stepped closer and closer, stopping when he saw the absent space where a leg would be. "JJ." He whispered and sat down next to his bed. "Oh my god." he mumbled.

"He will wake up but he was severely injured. The recovery rate-"

"Like I said, we're doctors. We know. Leave." He pointed to the door and the doctor left. "JJ why didn't you let me bring you home?" He mumbled and looked at his boyfriend's face. There were stitches running from his jaw up to the top of his ear. His nose was bandaged and he saw a cast on his arm. oh god he couldn't watch this.

"You're such a fucking asshole!" Michael yells at Jack. "I don't understand why you won't tell me the truth! Where the fuck were you!?" It was the third time since the accident six months ago that Jack hadn't come home when he said he would. And he was still working on life without a leg.

"You don't give a shit if I live or die do you you piece of shit!?" Jack yelled. "God I wish I died in that accident!" Tears brimmed his eyes and Jack used his crutches to go to the bedroom, locking the door.

Michael couldn't speak, couldn't think. What could he do to prove he really loved him? Was this not enough? Michael looked at the box in his hand and sat it on the kitchen island. He looked to the bedroom door and sighed. "I'm gonna go get the mail." He called out and grabbed his keys from the table, walking to the door. He heard no argument and went to actually check the mail.

When Jack heard the door slam, he sat there and waited for a few minutes before he went to the dresser and pulled out a small box, smiling softly. "I'm doing this for us, for you." He whispered softly. He managed to set up most of the decorations on the bed but he didn't have a knee to get down on anymore, not the one he'd planned. He hears the front door open and listens closely.

Michael was going through each piece of mail, opening the ones with his name on them and reading them. He called out. "Our residency placements came in!" He ran to the room with both envelopes and opened the door, stopping to see the most beautiful attempt at a proposal Jack could do on his own.

"This. This is what I have been doing every time I am out late." Jack smiled softly, trying to figure out again how to get down but Michael put down the envelopes and helped him.

"I don't care if you kneel. The answer is yes." Michael laughed a bit and looked back into the kitchen. Jack saw the box and both men busrt into laughs. "Oh my god we are so dumb."

"We're doctors, we're gonna be a little dumb in other places." Jack laughed and kissed him softly, puttting the ring on him. "Now give me my envelope. I wanna try for the ER that I was in."

"Me too." he grabbed their envelopes and they both opened them, reading silently and then swapping envelopes. They both got the same placement. "YES!" They hugged tightly and smiled. "We're gonna be doctors at the same hospital."

"And one day we will get married. I promise." Jack spoke softly. "Not today, maybe not for a while. But the day they make it legal, we will.

That day comes in 2016. Jack and Robby stood in the courthouse's long line of couples and started conversations with a lot of them. Jack leaned into Robby when the pain of his newest prosthetic bothered him too much. Robby got sick of it and picked him up, holding him closely.

They get married with another couple as their witnesses, crying as they kiss. Jack holds Robby's shaking hand as he puts the ring on his finger, laughing a bit as Robby apologizes for the ring being not too flashy as he puts his on. "I could have a ring pop and be happy." He said sweetly and they spend that night partying like they're twenty again with Jack's sister and their ER friends who could make it. Dr. Adamson, Robby's mentor, cheersed them and made both men laugh.

Heather and Dana made embarrassing speeches like it was a full blown big ass wedding but no one stopped them.

Robby kicks everyone out at 9 pm and they lay down in their suits, trying to get them off but too tired to do so.

Jack laughed softly as he helped Robby get his shoes off but gave up on his own when his leg came off with his shoe. They fell asleep laughing and still in their suits.

Dr. Adamson dies on Robby's shift, Jack unable to calm him down. Robby yells and cries and screams until he is too exhausted to fight Jack who drags him into the on call room to sleep.

Jack and Robby stand in the very back during the funeral, which was not very big. People whisper and look at them but Jack is focused on hugging Robby and wiping his tears. Robby places Dr. Adamson's badge down on the coffin and sighs, walking away with Jack to their car.

It takes a week before Robby speaks again. He gets sent home for a sabbatical where Jack makes him ramen, tea, anything he wants. They watch random TV shows until they fall asleep and Robby wakes up to Jack making breakfast. Jack goes to night shift after a few more weeks on days, so Robby adjusts his sleep schedule. He makes Jack dinner before his shift and gives him a snack to eat as well. Jack becomes the exhausted, overworked doctor.

Jack catches COVID but he's not that horrible, quarantining from his husband until he tests negative. He goes back to work with a skip in his step, rready to save lives. Robby feels a lot better thanks to his husband but he decides to work from home doing online appointments with patients who can't leave their homes. He doesn't totally mind it and officially resigns when they make Jack the head attending, some new doctor being the other attending.

Jack doesn't mind having a stay at home husband who makes his meals and blows him on occasion when he needs it. He also makes sure to pay back the favors by doing dishes and holding him all the time.

Dennis Whitaker reminds them both of themselves. And Robby knows why. The exhaustion and the hunger they used to have as med students is familiar. They both look at each other with small smiles when Jack leaves. But when he comes back, Robby is immediately hugging him. "Jake's girlfriend died, JJ." He says, crying into his neck.

Jack immediately goes to Jake and they talk. One shift and Robby knows he is struggling really badly. Jack sends Robby home and when he comes back to work, Jack is talking to one of the cutest little kids Robby has ever seen.

Jack looks at Robby and smiles. "Hey Rob." he kissed his hand. "I'm gonna be here a while. We're waiting for her mom to get out of surgery and Kiara is busy."

"okay." Seeing Jack with a kid made Robby realize he wanted kids. But he couldn't give them to Jack.

They start applying to be foster parents after a long conversation. They do everything they can to get approved and they are approved after a long fight.

The first kid to join them is a young boy, Walter. He's a sweet kid who stays with them for a few months. And then he's put with some relative. Then there was Diana, a ten year old girl who loves them so much. Robby loves her laugh and smile and she looks so much like Jack when she laughs. She spends a few months with them and then asks them when they'll be her daddies.

Jack's heart breaks when she asks that. Because they were told that they wouldn't be able to adopt her since she was just in foster care until her dad gets done with his parenting classes and such.

It takes another year before DCFS admits that her father might not be trying at all. Jack starts to fight with Robby to adopt Diana.

Diana wakes up early on what is her twlefth birthday and finds Jack and Robby had decorated her room with balloons and streamers. She gets dressed and goes down to find boxes on the kitchen table with her name on them. And Robby is making pancakes. "Hi pops!" She runs over and hugs him. They'd never had that awkward relationship and so this is why it was very easy to want to be her dads. "Where's dad?"

"He's grabbing the mail. He'll be right inside. I'm making pancakes, your favorite kind."

Diana smiled widely. "heart shaped pancakes with chocolate and caramel chips?" She clapped. "Is there bacon?"

"Yes there is. We have to finish the pancakes first." He laughed and pointed to the table. "Open your gifts?"

"No I wanna wait for dad." She says just as the front door closes and there Jack is flipping through the mail. "Dad!"

"Hey honey happy birthday. Your last year before you're a teen. Are you excited?"

"oh yes I am. I cannot wait to go to school today." She notices their smiles. "What?"

"We're not taking you to school today. We're going to go to the mall, and we are going to buy whatever you want."

She cheered. "Oh my god are you kidding?"

"Not kidding you."

"Now open those presents. Pops and I worked hard wrapping them." Jack smiled.

"Um I seem to remember someone complaining after his first wrap job looked like...what was the term? Oh yes, a crap job." They all laugh and Jack shoves him playfully. "What it is true." He laughed and watched closely with Jack as she opened the smallest gift.

The wrapping paper was carefully peeled away and she smiled as she saw a pair of earrings. "Woah but my ears aren't..." The realization made her scream and both men covered each others ears, laughing. "I'M GETTING MY EARS PIERCED I HAVE TO TELL ASHTON!"

"You aren't telling him anything till tomorrow, honey. That boy can wait." Jack chuckled. "Now open the rest of them."

She opened the next one and it was eyeliner and mascara, the only makeup she'd own if they had an option. She also got a mirror and a new cup. Then there was a very nice last gift. A laptop. Her own laptop where she could download and play her favorite games. She thanked them both with tight hugs and scarfed down three pancakes and a piece of bacon before going to get ready for the day. Jack looked at Robby with a knowing glance.

"Tonight, we'll do it tonight."

"Well we better find our earbuds then, she's gonna scream for an hour at least." Jack kissed his husband and smiled. "I'm gonna go get dressed. Coming?"

"For you? Always. With you? Yes." Robby laughed as Jack threw a piece of pancake at him. "What it's true." He kissed him and both men headed to change.

They spend the whole day carrying bags for her and get her ears pierced last, her squealing as she sees the small earrings in her ears.

They take her home for her birthday dinner and she almost cries when the entire crew is there. And Ashton who she immediately shows her ears too and he hugs her. They make the couple smile and then they serve up the meal and cake.

"Okay time for the final present." Jack pulled a small box out of the island cabinet and placed it in front of Diana. "Open this slowly."

Diana starts opening the present and reading what was written on the tissue paper layers. "On this day...we are proud...to have you in our home...and we want to make it....PERMANENT?!" Diana looked around and looked at Jack and Robby. "What do you mean?"

Robby smiled. "Open the last layer."

Diana opened the last piece and screamed so loud that everyone covered their ears. There, in the box, was adoption papers. "Oh my god you wanna adopt me?"

"Diana we called your case worker and we talked it through and, as long as you want to be in our family, we'll have you."

Diana jumped up and hugged them both tightly, making Jack gasp a bit. "Kid, are you okay?"

Diana looked up and she had tears in her eyes. "Yeah. Just so happy." She smiled.

"Awesome." Robby hugged her. "Alright, lets have a fun party and then you can open the rest of the gifts later."

Diana partied all night with everyone and they only stopped after 10 pm when everyone had to go home and go to sleep. Diana had opened so many gifts the wrapping paper all ended up in the kitchen. She'd gotten a new phone, a comforter set, a new desk for her room, clothes, new shoes, and books. She ended up falling asleep in her bed with her clothes still on.

Michael looks at Jack and then speaks. "Joaquin." That name was never said anymore. But he still looked up. "I miss saying that." He whispered.

"I miss calling you Mikey." He leaned up.

"I miss more than that." Robby slowly pulled him into his lap. "You got enough energy?"

"If I didn't, we wouldn't be doing this." He pulled him into a rough kiss and that kiss gave both men enough energy for the whole night. They managed to fuck on the couch first but they finished in their bedroom. Jack looked at Robby and smiled. "Good night, doctor."

"Goodnight, doctor." Robby chuckled and kissed his husband slowly, stroking him as he falls asleep.

Chapter 16: The View Between Villages

Summary:

Dennis remembers Broken Bow a little too well. But now he's gotten Pittsburgh remembered so badly and wants to forget his old town. But what happens when he's stuck between attending his graduation from medical school and going to his brother's wedding?

Kinda a song fic

Chapter Text

Dennis flipped the sage envelope over and over in his hands three or maybe even four times. His fingers run over the typed address. He'd moved out of his and Trinity's place since he became a resident but now he was staring at this envelope of doom, he called it. Trinity had thrown it at him during their dinner with the Pitt Crew to celebrate Jack and Samira's engagement. He hadn't opened it in the three days he's had it.

"Are you gonna open it?" Robby's voice startles Dennis and he looks up at his boyfriend with a shrug.

"It says it's from my brother and his girlfriend." He whispers out. "I don't know if I want to open this."

Robby took the envelope from him. "I will." he opened it and found a beautiful wedding invitation. "Wow this is fancy. I'll read it to you, Dennis." He backed away from his boyfriend a bit. "Ahem. The families of Mr. Adam Cain Whittaker, Jesus how religious are your folks, and Miss Selene Thompson invite you to their wedding on the..." Robby sighs, "on the twlefth of June in the year of our lord, for fuck sake, 2027." He sighed again. "Den. You graduate that day." Robby points to the very cheesy graduation invites that he had made for Dennis. JUNE 12 2027 is in big bold lettering.

Feel the rush of my blood
I'm seventeen again

Dennis stares at his family home as he climbs into his truck and starts it. He had to leave. He already graduated and he was NOT going to become some farmboy. He was gonna save lives. And he couldn't do it here. Anywhere was better than here.

Dennis takes the invitation from Robby and looks at it. "Are we sure?" He ran his thumb over the date hoping it was a trick but no. Right there it was. June 12th. He looks at Robby before looking back down at the invitation. The stupid pretty invitation that made Dennis's throat close up with anxiety if he hadn't had Robby's hands on him within the second. Robby's hands pulled Dennis into him, back against chest and Robby could feel him shaking.

"Do you wanna go?"

"I have to go to my graduation. But my brother he...he's never gonna get this chance again. He and Selene have been together forever." He looked up at Robby and smiled at him softly.

I am not scared of death
I've got dreams again

Dennis cries into his pillow as he remembers his brother's birthday is today. He's not there to spend it with him. He hadn't been in contact with them yet because he knew they'd try to bring him back but he didn't think this would hurt so much. He looked at the only photograph he had. Him with his brothers who were chasing him with plates that definitely had whipped cream on them. His tears do not stop and he cries harder and harder until he falls asleep clutching that picture.

Dennis looked at both invitations on the fridge and he sighed. It'd been a week since he'd gotten the invite and four days since he found out what was in it. He had to respond by the end of the month, two days from now. But he didn't want to. He looked over where a sleeping Robby lay and then looked at the invitation. What was he supposed to do? Ignore it? Pretend it never came? Throw it away?

It's just me and the curve of the valley
And there is meaning on Earth, I am happy

Dennis shoves the guy away from him. "I don't want to do that!" he said simply. "I have to study."

"Oh come on D, let's have some fun. We can get high too." This guy was only supposed to study with him. He pushed him away. "D if you don't let me do something then I will have to take what I want."

Dennis cried after and he didn't go to classes for a week. His brothers would have protected him. Would have stopped them. He wouldn't be hurting. Why did he have to leave? To become a doctor. That's right.

Dennis stared at the scars on his sides and arms. He teared up as he remembered everything from those Pre-Robby times. Robby appeared in the mirror and Dennis looked up at him. "You sure you want me like this?" Dennis asked softly. "I mean they might never go away."

Robby smiled and held his hand. "Like I said, Dennis, I will love you regardless. Let me take care of your needs." Robby kissed his lips softly. "We can go at your pace. As slow as you want." He lead Dennis to the bed and laid him down. "So what do you want to do?" Dennis was gonna like this.

Passed Alger Brook Road, I'm over the bridge
A minute from home but I feel so far from it

Dennis stared at Dr. Robby with a tear in his eyes. "Robby." He choked out. Robby ran over and quickly picked him up as Dennis collapsed, holding him close.

"I'm here I got you Denny." Robby carried him to a bed and placed him onto it. "Need help over here!" He called out. Everyone ran over to help Robby. "Come on Denny I'm here. Don't leave." He whispered as he and everyone else took care of him. "We're gonna get you out of the woods. Just relax. I'm here." He was mostly reassuring himself. Dennis ended up having severe malnutrition and dehydration as well as a chest infection for three weeks. Dennis felt helpless but Robby stayed the whole time.

When Robby thought Denny had fallen asleep, he whispered to him. "I love you Dennis. I'm a coward for waiting to tell you till now but I genuinely can't keep hiding this from you. You big beautiful smart genius." He sighed.

"I love you too Robby." He whispered and smiled as he looked at Robby's wide eyed face.

Dennis reads theinvitation four more times before he pulls out his old phone. He's not used this since he left Broken Bow but he knew he needed to use this one. He dialed the number and held the phone to his ear.

"Hello?" Dennis's breath hitched when his big brother's voice came through. "Hello?"

"A-Adam it's me."

"Dennis oh my goodness oh I have missed you little brother where are you? Are you okay? Do you need something?"

"I...I got your invitation."

"That's great! So you're coming?" Adam's word hung in the air. "Dennis. You are coming to my wedding right?"

"I can't. I'm graduating that same day." He sighs.

"Graduating? What are you talking about?"

"Medical School. I graduate medical school the same day. Almost the exact same time too." Dennis could feel the disappointment. At least that's what it felt like.

"That's great Dennis! Selene and I will move our date and we can come to your graduation! Oh my god I cannot wait!"

Dennis teared up with happiness. "Wait what?"

"Mama and Dad they've been missing you like crazy and we've all been so worried. I have to get mama. Hang on." Dennis smiled as he sat on the couch and listened as Adam yelled somewhere to their mama. "MAMA! IT'S DENNIS!"

"What?"

"DENNIS! HE'S ON THE PHONE! HE'S GRADUATING MEDICAL SCHOOL!"

"My baby!" He laughed softly as he heard Adam and his mama fight for the phone. "Dennis? Den is that you my baby?"

Dennis couldn't think, couldn't speak, couldn't breathe.

"Dennis?"

"Mama." He sighed in relief. "Mama it's me." He cried softly. "Mama I'm gonna be a doctor."

"Oh my boy I knew you could do it." She cried. "Oh when is it?"

"It's the same day as Adam and Selene's wedding."

"NOT ANYMORE!" He heard being yelled in the background.

"What day works for you honey?"

"Mama you want me to come?"

"Yes baby. Bring any fellow you'd like."

"What?" Dennis gasped.

"Oh baby your dad and I are so sorry for how we treated you. But when Bart came out to us, we realized we loved our children more than we love our church. We became our own kind of Christian. God we miss you so much. Now, what day works?"

Dennis pulls his knees to his chest as he talks to his mom and brother for almost three hours. Robby comes home from work an hour in and ends up joining the conversation and is harrassed by his mother that 'if you hurt my baby boy's head I will rip your's off and feed each limb to our pigs' which he genuinely seems scared by but Dennis laughs with him, making all the calm emerge.

Chapter 17: Javadi with the Body

Summary:

Trinity finds out Victoria isn't a total loser.

Short and Sweet but I will add a second part to this.

Chapter Text

It's Saturday. It was supposed to be a Saturday where Trinity got to nap in her bed after her shift until Victoria and Dennis made up their minds on plans but they already had the best idea and dragged Trinity to a club downtown. They changed in the bathrooms and when Trinity saw Victoria step out, she couldn't help herself. "Damn Javadi, look at you!" Victoria had on an off shoulder purple dress that had a ruffle skirt that stopped just above her knees. She'd pulled her hair out of the annoyingly tight ponytail she kept it in and had pulled it half up and then the other half was left alone which is when Trinity realized there were tiny braids in the hair. "Fuck." She whispered.

Victoria rubbed her arm in embarrassment. "I thought it looked nice with these." Victoria gestured to where the sneakers had been replaced by ballet flats. Victoria was looking at Trinity up and down and it was clear she should've warned her with how many tattoos she had.

"Sorry if it's a shock but my scrubs hide most of them." Trinity shrugged and then turned back to the mirror where she observed her cropped t-shirt she had cut the sleeves off of and her shorts which she'd also cut because they were originally pants. She pulled a belt from her bag and noticed Victoria watch her put it on. "God Javadi, could you be anymore of a perv?" She teased. Victoria blushed and looked away.

"Sorry you just look really...hot." She admitted.

Trinity retied her combat boots and walked over to Victoria. "You tell anyone I did this I will kill you." Before Victoria speaks, Trinity pulls her into a long drawn out kiss that somehow ends before Victoria can do anything. "I'm gonna put our bags behind the bar and then find Dennis." She spoke as if she didn't give Victoria the first kiss with a woman she'd ever have. She and Mateo had kissed once but it wasn't exactly memorable.

It was before he'd let the Pitt and they'd gone to dinner. He walked her to her car and Victoria went to speak when he kissed her which made their teeth clash and he bit her lip on accident. She had a headache for two days after because he knocked into her forehead when he leaned down. But this one...with Trinity...it felt nice.

She touched her lips once Trinity left and she realized there was a new spark inside her. A spark for Trinity Santos. A spark that wouldn't go away.

Chapter 18: Eyes on Me

Summary:

Jack has to talk Dennis through a panic attack, which reminds Dennis of the night before when he was talked through something else.

Chapter Text

Dennis hadn't realized it was a panic attack until he was on the floor in the break room. He had just been talking to a patient one minute and then it was like he had collapsed both lungs and everything felt too tight, too much, too hard.

Jack saw the poor young man escape from the ER into the break room and he immediately looked around to make sure everyone was alright before he ran after Dennis. He pushed the break room door open and shut it quickly and got down next to him. "Hey Den." He was examining him closely.

Dennis was shaking and crying and his hands were over his ears. He grabbed his hands and tried to peel them away from his ears to talk to him but Dennis wouldn't let go. He sighed and locked the break room door. "Dennis." He whispered into his ear, holding his hands even if they covered his ears. "Dennis it's me I'm right here just breathe for me."

Dennis was looking into his eyes now and so Jack pressed their foreheads together. "I'm here baby I'm right here. Just breathe. I got you." He starts to rub his cheek. "I've got you so much baby. I've got your face and I've got you. I've got you." He kissed his forehead and pressed them back together. "Sit in my lap?" He spoke softly and pulled Dennis into his lap. His leg stung as he did this but he wanted to hold his baby. "Baby boy I've got you." Dennis's head laid on Jack's chest and Jack felt too protective to realize how reminisent this was of their night together in Jack's house.

Dennis knew it. Dennis remembered every caress and slow stroke, every kiss and spank and every pull of his hair. God Dennis's body reacted to it before Dennis could pull himself out of the panic attack. Jack's hand on his thigh made him fully come down and he looked into his eyes. "I've got you baby. Good boy it's okay I've got my boy." His voice was sweet and calming but Dennis saw the intense glare he had. Dennis had to get out of his lap or they would have a massive HR violation on their hands.

So Dennis moved. He slid off of Jack's lap and stood up, brushing himself off as he looked into his eyes, watching the older man slowly stand up. "I'm sorry Dr. Abbot." Jack started at him like 'Really?' and Dennis sighed. "I'm sorry Jack. I'm just having a harder day than I thought I would and all the noise is driving me crazy." He looked at the man and gasped because Jack was way closer than before.

"I saw the way you shifted. You like my words." Jack smirked. "I'm gonna use that against you tonight. I promise you." Jack leaned down and pulled the small 'rat man' into a kiss, gripping his hip as he pulled away. "Be a good boy and finish your shift so we can go to my place and I can rail you into the mattress."

Dennis breathed out a gasp. "For an old man you know how to make me weak."

Jack chuckled. "I'm not that old now go. I need a juice box." Dennis rolled his eyes as he left. Jack sipped on a juice box for a minute and tossed it before stepping out. "I'm so fucked." He mumbled.

Chapter 19: Dennis Has Red Hair

Summary:

Dennis comes into shift with his hair a new fun color. A color that makes everyone distracted.

Chapter Text

Dennis swore softly as he pulled his hoodie off precariously, grunting as he looked into the mirror and saw the splotch of red on his neck. "Oh shit." He sighed and went to the sink, attempting to wash it off, but it spread. He sighed and looked at his hands, which were still stained pink. "Okay, maybe this wasn't the best idea." He mumbled but rolled his eyes in frustration. He headed out of the room and walked up to Dana. "Good morning, Dana."

Dana looks up and gasps as she tries to say hello back. "Dennis. Dr. Whitaker...you have...red hair."

"Yeah." He smiled awkwardly. "I was going to do purple, but I couldn't find the blue I wanted to mix it with."

"Well, it looks nice." She reaches out and touches his bangs. "There we go. You had a splotch right there; I moved your hair to cover it."

"Do you dye your hair? I am having an issue maintaining it and the bleaching process hurt."

"Whit!" Dennis turns and sees Trinity standing there with a smile. "You did that? I thought you were joking!" She runs over and hugs him. "It looks great."

"Thanks, I was just talking with Dana about the process and how to maintain it because it is staining my skin like hell, and my sheets are not washing out the color."

"Well, I can help you after shift." Dennis looks at Trinity and nods. "Robby is going to freak out when he sees this."

Dennis chuckled. "Well, he thinks it's going to be purple." He smiled up at her.

"You lied to him?" Dana laughed softly. "Oh, Gloria is going to have a heart attack when she sees your hair."

"It's not in the handbook. I checked. Nothing about my appearance can impact my employment."

"Damn, Dennis, are you trying to kill someone?" Dennis turned to see Jack smirking.

"Dr. Abbot." Dennis smiled back. "No, I'm not."

"Well, I'm sure you will kill Michael. He's not expecting you to show up at all today."

"I told him I had food poisoning yesterday so he wouldn't come over." Dennis explains to a confused Dana and Trinity.

"Did he ask any questions?"

"I told him it was so bad he couldn't come over because I was not ready for us to be in that stage of life." Dennis chuckled.

"Oh, and then I had to hear about it during our brief today. He thought you were going to call out, and so if he seems a bit angry, it's because he thinks you still have food poisoning you never had."

"Gotcha." He chuckled. "Who's doing rounds?"

"Me." Melissa smiled. "I love the change." Melissa ruffled Dennis's hair, making him laugh. "Cassie and Harrison both have actual food poisoning."

"Ah, so they are sick as dogs, and you and Frank are..."

"Not together." Melissa blushed. "I am not dating Frank; we are strictly professional—he-hey, Dr. Langdon—Frank. Good morning, Frank."

"Good morning, Melissa." Frank doesn't look up from his tablet, but when he does, he's shocked. "Wow, holy shit, your hair, Dennis. What did you do?"

Dennis looks at Frank with a straight face. "What do you mean what did I—oh my god, it's red." He still has a straight face. "You dipshit, I dyed it." He shoved Frank backwards, which sent him into Melissa's arms. They both blushed as they looked at each other, but Frank quickly pulled away when Robby's voice was heard.

"Hello crew why are we crowding around my—" He looks at Dennis with a face that reads, 'What am I looking at?' and Dennis tenses under Robby's gaze.

"Do you like it?" He speaks softly, eyes scanning Robby's face.

Robby finally makes a move and moves to stand behind Dennis. "The smell of the dye isn't too strong."

"Well, I washed it a couple times." Dennis turned around to look up at Robby and reached up to touch his hand, smiling when Robby ruffles his hair.

"It's perfect. Will help me see you better." He chuckled and took everyone back to reality for rounds.

Robby likes my hair. He called it perfect. He likes what I did.

Dennis looks at Robby when they got in the car, expecting something, anything. But Robby wasn't speaking. Robby was staring at Dennis with a soft but hungry look. "Michael..."

"Fuck I am going to eat you alive when we get to my house." He started the car and drove the short distance to his house. He parked in the lot and dragged Dennis into the building. When the elevator doors closed, Dennis couldn't breathe before he was pulled into a rough loving kiss. Dennis whimpered as Robby's rough hands pinned Dennis to the elevator wall. Dennis pulled away for air and looked up at the very handsome man. "You look good."

"Thank you. I didn't want to tell you because I wanted to surprise you."

"I'm not the biggest fan of red, but I am your biggest fan. So the red will grow on me."

"It'll wash out in five or so washes. I'm gonna have to do dry shampoo."

"If you change it up again, let me do it. That way you don't have this giant patch on your nape." Michael pointed out the massive splotch of red that is still on the back of his neck. "I'm good at it."

Dennis quirked his brow. "You dye your hair?"

"Denny, I'm old. I have gray hair. But I don't let it run me like Jack does. I love my dark hair."

"The day I see a gray hair, I will ban you from buying hair dye ever again."

"Well it'll be a while." Michael kissed him slowly, pulling away when the doors opened. He took Dennis inside and Michael's hands were stained red the next day but no one asked questions. Because they knew what happened.

Chapter 20: From Hooking Up to Something More

Summary:

Melissa and Frank finally admit what they want from each other. Frank is corny.

Chapter Text

"You know, I think this is the longest we've spent together in your house." Melissa's words make Frank sit up in the bed, looking down at her.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, this is the longest amount of time we've gotten to spend together after a shift. Usually it's...an hour at max before we fall asleep. But tonight..." Melissa sits up and looks at the clock on Frank's bedside table, which reads in the bright green letters 9:47 with a tiny light next to PM. "We need to decide what this is, Frank. I'm not going to let you in and get heartbroken because you don't know what you want."

Frank gets out of the bed and slowly gets some pajamas on. "I don't know. I mean, what we do now is nice, but...I like being around you. So maybe..."

"Maybe you can be a man and stop beating around the bush? The leaves are gone, the branches are broken; make a decision." Melissa gets dressed next to him.

"That was...really fucking poetic." Frank chuckled. "You know exactly what to say; it's like you've planned out this conversation in your head before." He stops when Mel's eyes go wide. "Holy shit, you have."

"No!" Melissa's cheeks burn red as she tries to not admit she has 100% thought about this conversation in great detail. "Maybe a little..." Frank stares at her until she finally breaks. "Yes, I have."

"Wow—"

"But only because you don't want to have the conversation, and I'm scared that the reason you don't is because you...don't...want...me."

"Mel—"

"And I know I should expect it; you are a doctor with a busy schedule and a busy life, and you absolutely hate commitment because Abby made you feel like you were a horrible husband when you were married, and now she calls you a bad father, but you need to know there is someone who is right in front of you who wants you in every way no matter how bad the days get, and that person is me."

Frank is smiling, a genuine smile, shock and love settled into his gaze. "Melissa...you...you love me?"

"Yes!" She sighed. "How many times do I have to say it? I love you, Frank Langdon. I am in love with you to every extent possible, and I have dreamed of being with you in every way since this stupid arrangement began because I have never felt more close to loving someone like that until right now. Here, in your house, your room, after a long shift, and I genuinely want to tell you that. Frank I love you, and I am not going anywhere unless you tell me to."

Melissa was crying. But they were good tears. Great tears, in fact, and Melissa was laughing and sniffling as she finished speaking. Frank was laughing a bit, and he didn't say anything; he just pulled Melissa into a long, loving kiss. Mel's hands found their way to his chest, settling there while Frank wrapped his arms around her waist. They pulled away, and Melissa let out a laugh. "So...what does it mean?"

Frank thought for a moment before he looked at the time. 9:54. He looked at Mel's smile and could barely hold himself together. She was perfect. Too perfect for him in so many ways, but he knew if she ever felt different, she'd say so. It was the best part of her, how blunt and honest she was with everyone. "I think we should go out tomorrow night after our shift for dinner."

"You want to...take me to a bar?"

"I want to take you on a date, Melissa."

"Are you telling me or asking me?" Frank let out a chuckle and let Melissa go, getting on one knee a bit awkwardly. He took her hands in his and looked up at her with a smile that said Melissa would have to beat him up to make him go away.

"Melissa King—"

"You're so corny oh my god—"

"Will you do me the esteemed honor—"

"Are you pulling SAT words out of your ass now?" That made them both laugh.

"I'm not done; hang on now, I have to start over." Frank cleared his throat. "Melissa King, will you do the honor of going on a first date with me?"

Mel tapped a finger to her chin and said nothing, making Frank's heart sink until she started to laugh. "Yes, you weirdo, now stand up." He smiled and kissed her once he got on his feet. She pulled away first. "So we're...something now??"

"Mel, we were always something. I was just too dumb to admit it."

"You're right about that."

"HEY!" He picked up Melissa and threw her onto the bed, climbing over her to kiss her. "If I'm dumb, I'm your dumb guy."

"Yeah." She smiled and climbed under the covers, cuddling up close to him as they tried to figure out where to go for their date.

Chapter 21: Your Words are Soft

Summary:

Robby discovers Dennis's reading habit.
or
Dennis reads smutty audiobooks and Robby finds out on shift.

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

This was a fucking nightmare of a shift. Santos had a broken leg, so she wasn't able to work today due to just having her cast on. Melissa and Frank were doing this weird bullshit of trying to not be obvious they had come into shift together and would be going home together too. And Dennis had been doing compressions on a four-year-old for almost twenty minutes before they had to call it. The entire ER had a moment of silence, and Robby made Dennis go take a breath. Dennis went into the locker room and just took some breaths, bouncing on his toes. He cleared his throat and tried to talk himself through this, but he used his 'reading' voice. "You're here. You're strong. You have got this." The voice was different, deeper, but it wasn't rough. "It's not going to be a bad day unless you let it." He sighed and went to his locker, drinking a ton of water from his water bottle before going to the door.

He opened it up and stepped back out, going to where Robby was calling for him. He found a 25-year-old woman who was having a horrible rash, and it was bleeding. They had to restrain her so she wouldn't scratch at it. He didn't speak until Robby spoke up. "Okay, Whitaker, what do we do?"

He looked up, that innocent sweet look on his face. "We have to debride to make sure nothing is within it." Robby's eyes narrowed, and Dennis only then realized he spoke in his reading voice.

"Oh my god." The woman spoke softly. "Are you Dylan Waters?" Fuck.

"No, that is not Dr. Whitaker's name. "But yes, you are right, Whitaker."

"No, no, you have to be. Say it again." She sat up as best as she could. "Say that again."

"No." Dennis sighed. "I do not want to interact with her." He said the second part to Robby and walked out. The woman continued to yell out into the ER, and everyone looked to Dennis, who just had this sweet look on his face and shrugged.

Everyone forgot about it pretty much besides the woman and Robby. And Dennis, of course. End of shift was fine, and Dennis was almost done changing when Robby came in. Dennis turned and didn't say anything to him, but Robby spoke up.

"Dylan Waters? Who is that?" Dennis wanted to deny it; he did, but Robby had that sweet look in his eyes that made him want to tell him. "I mean, I looked him up, and it says that it's a stage name used by an unknown audiobook reader. Do you...narrate audiobooks?"

Dennis sighed. "It didn't start that way." He gave in, sitting down on the bench as he pulled his hoodie on. "I was in college, and my roommate wasn't sleeping well. He started falling asleep hearing me read my study notes. And then I decided to start recording my study note readings because it helped me remember. And then I realized I liked it. And so I decided to start recording myself reading and posting it on YouTube. And I was going by 'farmboy' on YouTube, no face, just the voice, and then...I got an offer to record professionally. I wanted to be a doctor, so at first I turned it down. But then they told me they didn't need me to work forty hours; it would be a submit-what-you-can-when-you-can job, and they would pay at submission. And now I record one or two books a month. I'm good at it."

"What do you even read?"

That was when Dennis went bright red. "Um...gay...romance...books. Lots of them. And the classics. I have different tones I use and— "

"Do you use the voices you use with me?" Robby's words made Dennis hard in his pants. "When we're...alone?"

"No, no." Dennis was so embarrassed right now. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you—"

"No, you shouldn't have to until you're ready. Are you wanting to keep doing that?"

"I think I'm going to slow down to one every other month because it's not my main income anymore, and I'm not scrapping."

"Where do you even record? We live together."

"I record when you are asleep. In the closet, that little table in the closet is my setup. I have the microphone and everything in a container cube."

"You're so silly." Robby laughed.

"Well, as long as you aren't dumping me, I can be more than silly." Dennis reached up and tapped his nose.

"You going to read to me?"

Oh. Oh. "Absolutely." Dennis got his stuff and walked with Robby to his car. "Are you going to do to me what I read?"

"You have no idea." He kissed behind Dennis's ear, making him shiver.

Fuck,

Chapter 22: The Arguing

Summary:

Jack and Robby have an argument about if they're ready to be parents that just spirals.
Jack absolutely hates the idea of kids, Robby thinks they'd be good dads.

Pre-Show

Chapter Text

"Okay so we need to talk." Jack sits down on the couch next to Robby who was reading Frankenstein once again. He looks up from his book and notices Jack's serious expression.

"What's wrong?" He narrowed his eyes. "You're not going back to the military are you? Cause they'll have to kill me first and-"

"No no no Robs, no." Jack chuckled at his husband who was full of fear. "We need to have this discussion you keep begging to have. Okay?"

"Okay Jack what's the conversation?" Robby knew what the conversation was. Jack was ignoring him everytime they tried to talk about it.

"Robby, we have to talk about having kids."

"Oh so you came around to it?"

"No. This is what I need to talk to you about. I need to understand why you want kids. Tell me."

"Well...we're getting older, and you know we'd be good parents. And just think about it. Dana has kids, she loves her girls."

"Dana has always loved kids, that is why she doesn't work in peds."

"But Jack-"

"No I need to understand why you want kids. Tell me." Jack sat back on the couch and Robby stood up, pacing now. Jack hated the pacing. "Here we go again." He mumbled.

"What Jack? You don't like that I pace to think? You know I think best moving. I mean come on whats the bad part about kids?"

"They shit themselves, they're blunt, and we're both doctors, Robby. You think we'll get accepted for adoption? I mean come on look at you and me. We're both complete wreaks."

"I am fine." Robby insisted, but he knew Jack was telling the truth.

"I know you wanna go back to the hospital because you love being a doctor but you have to think about it. Dr. Adamson-"

"Stop reminding me he died! Okay?! He died and there was nothing I could do about it. I had to sit there and watch him decay and it was the worst!"

"Are you seriously yelling at me? You think I blame you for that?"

"Everyone was staring at me when he died. I didn't even go to his funeral I was so angry at myself."

"You should have gone. You deserved to say goodbye. I told you to go."

"You also told me that any decision I made was the right decision. You told me that I would be making a good decision no matter what I did."

"I told you to do what your heart trusted. I didn't say to abscond from the fucking hospital altogether!" Jack stopped when he realized they were both angry. "We need to breathe."

Robby looked up. "Don't use that therapy bullshit on me! If I think we can have kids and raise them in a safe and wonderful home, then that is the plan."

"This is not a fucking plan, you want kids but you won't tell me why."

"Because when I look at you I want more with you. And I can't think of anything more than us having kids. We can have one or maybe two butI don't wanna be without you. And when you go to work at night, I suffer a lot, I love you Jack but I can't keep being alone."

"Then we'll get a fucking dog. We don't need kids."

"Why won't you listen to me?"

"We should talk to Dr. Ellison, she'll help. I mean she would understand."

"So you trust her over me? Is that what you're saying?"

"Why are you being so selfish? I retired from the military for you, I moved here for you, I started working in the Pitt for you. What have you done for me?"

"I..." Robby couldn't think of anything tangible. Until he remembered. "I took every single PTSD beating every time until we got you into therapy."

"You...wow." Jack sat there frozen still. "You did." He sighed. "Oh I'm sorry Robby I just...I'm so scared it'll happen again and I don't want to have a kid here if it does."

"But we have to trust each other. And know that we are safe people." Robby took Jack's hand. "Please." He pulled Jack up to his feet. "I love you Joaquin. My doctor husband."

Jack snifffled and nodded. "I love you too Michael. We can talk more about this tomorrow? Is that okay?"

Michael smiled and nodded. "Yeah."

Chapter 23: All This Touching

Summary:

This song is stuck in my head, so enjoy this.

Chapter Text

All this touching, it's all Dennis can do to not beg Robby to touch him more. All this touching, Robby only touching his shoulders should be illegal because Robby should touch more. All this touching, all these faces, god Dennis felt hot everytime Robby stares at him from across the ER and he wanted to jump across into his arms and his eyes displayed every bit of want.

All this fun is overrated, Dennis pretends to enjoy the party thrown by Dana, Dennis offered his and Trinity's place, for Robby going on his sabbatical but all Dennis wants is to be against a wall with him, in a random corner with hands on him. Dennis looks up in the direction of the man but his face burns when he realizes Robby was staring at him too. Both men look away, Dennis blushing and panting softly from the small adrenaline rush he got. Trinity walks over with a sly smile on her face. "You can't stand in this corner eyefucking him all night. You're going to make him explode." Dennis went more red. God if he could be the reason Robby had to change his pants.

The party was over but not for Dennis. Everyone who wasn't working the night shift had gone home, Trinity going with Yolanda, and Robby looked up at Dennis who was biting his inner cheek and trying to figure out if he should say something. But then Robby walked over slowly, kicking his shoes off. Dennis looked up and smiled a bit when Robby walked a bit faster, a smirk on his face. "Robby wait I-" But he couldn't speak because god Robby pinned him to the wall by his shoulders and kissed him harder than they had in the past few months.

"I don't care what I have to do to make you mine. But it's happening tonight." Robby's words are rough, quick, excited. His eyes are full of lust and love and god Dennis could sink into his touch. "Do it." Robby spoke softly. Dennis hadn't realized he had said that outloud.

"Huh?"

"Sink for me." And Dennis did. Robby hoisted the man into his arms and carried him to the couch. He tossed him down and Dennis quickly pulled his shoes off, fumbling for his socks but Robby interrupted him, kissing him harder. "Are you gonna, fuck god sake Whitaker you know what you do to me?" Dennis shook his head. "I think you know. I want you to tell me what I do to you. I want to hear how you want me to touch you."

"I...I want you to um..." Dennis breathed slower to help himself. "God I want you to um um touch me." Dennis sounded so juvenile with his words. "I want you to take my clothes off. Please Robby. I need um...I need you to make me..." Dennis sighed. "I need you to make me cum for you before I fall apart."

Robby's eyes shine as he hears those words. "I'm going to make you fall apart first. Every way possible." Robby hooked his thumb into Dennis's sweats and was shocked he didn't find a boxer band to pull too. "Are you...?"

"I forgot to put them on before the party. I thought I'd have time."

"Oh. Well I'm glad you didn't." Robby pulled his thumb away and slid his hand under the shirt he had on. Dennis let out a soft, shaky gasp.

"Fuck." he mumbled. "Ro-Robby..." The word came out just as the older man's thumb found his nipple. "Robby fuck." He sucked in a breath.

"Does that feel good, Whitaker?" His last name being used in this scenario made Dennis hard and the sweats he was wearing didn't help him at all to hide it. "Oh it does." Dennis opened his eyes and saw Robby was smirking. He was fucking smirking and Dennis felt so hot in that moment. "Maybe I should keep going. Would you like that? Tell me."

"Y-yes. Please don't stop Robby I need you to keep going." Dennis had that sweet look in his eyes and he was just begging in that moment.

"Beg again." Robby leaned closer to Dennis. For some reason, he wasn't moving. He was inches from his mouth but wouldn't fucking move.

"P-please. Robby I need you." Dennis whimpered.

"Okay." Robby nodded and leaned in, kissing him softly. Its not rough or fast like their usual kisses. Dennis's face is in Robby's free hand and Dennis reaches up to pull Robby's glasses off his face so they don't get broken in whatever chaos will ensue after this moment. The pull away makes Dennis whimper and Robby's words make him almost explode. "Are you cumming?" Fuuuuck Dennis could absolutely cum from his voice alone. Dennis had cum from his voice alone before.

"Are you leaving Pittsburgh for your sabbatical?"

Robby sat up. "What? N-no. Dennis I just need to take a break from the ER. You can come to my place if you'd like. It's closer to the hospital and..." Fuck what was Robby saying?

Dennis was blushing and tried to think straight but nothing about him was straight. "Fuck." He mumbled out. "I thought you would leave me and be with..."

"Her? No no Dennis I am a gay man in my late 40s, I will not be kissing a woman anytime soon." Robby chuckled. "You know you can absolutely come over. I will never stop you." Robby's hand runs over the younger man's ribs, making Dennis shiver. "You cold?"

"I won't be once you f-fucking touch me." Dennis wasn't this flustered before with Robby.

"Then let me touch you. Strip for me. I wanna see you strip, baby." Robby's words make Dennis stand quickly. He started on the hoodie and his socks. But Robby's eyes wandered over every inch of his skin. "Fuck Dennis I'm going to make you shake."

Dennis froze and blushed as he realized they were actually going to have sex and it was going to mean something. "Yeah?"

Robby smirked and nodded. "Yeah. Keep going." Dennis couldn't see thanks to the hoodie he was still taking off but once it came off, he gasped and turned away from Robby. Robby's hand was in his pants and he was looking at him all over. "Don't look away." Robby's commanding voice felt so amazing and he wanted to be in that space with that voice forever.

"O-okay."

"Are you going to look at me?"

Dennis turned to look at him. "Are you cumming?" Dennis's smile was a bit unnerving to Robby but the way Dennis looked into his eyes and bit his lip.

"Fuck if you keep looking at me like that I will." He stroked himself slower, eyes running over Dennis's neck where bite marks were healing, hickeys were fresh from the night before. God Dennis made Robby harder when he was wearing his scrubs but FUCK if Robby didn't want to pin him to the floor now. "Come on then, strip baby, let me see all of you."

Dennis nodded and stripped down quicker. When he was fully naked, he was ready to fall to his knees, but Robby pulled him by his wrist into his lap. Dennis gasped as Robby pushed his pants down and his boxers went with it. Dennis always wanted to look at his cock but they were always either too horny or too tired to look at each other like this. "Robby..."

"Don't. Don't use my hospital name. Anything else, baby, anything fucking else." Robby looked into his eyes and Dennis knew exacty what to say.

"Michael." Robby smirked and nodded. "Michael...please...touch me?" Dennis slowly started to grind against him. "Are you sure you want me? Like this? I mean we don't have to do anything and we can totally stop if you want and...I sound stupid." Dennis sighed.

"Baby, did you think this was just physical?" That sentence hit Dennis like the Challenger explosion. "Dennis, I have always liked you from the second we started this. But you are a young man and I am fucking old. I mean if you want this, I would like it as well. But don't think this is just a hookup. I'm so sick of-"

Robby was shut up by Dennis kissing him. Dennis found the control to pull Robby in by his sweatshirt and kiss him hard. To first, second, and third bases, All this kissing, French kissing, His tongue is overrated. Dennis pulled away, blushing with his tongue sticking out of his mouth and Robby immediately knew what to do. He pulled Dennis into a harder longer kiss, his tongue intruding into the others mouth as he keeps going. Both men are panting and grabbing. Robby's hand finds its perfect spot and he grips the space above his hip, making Dennis's eyes open and he whimpers.

Robby pulled away for air and smirked. "How long do you think you want me for?"

Dennis blushed. "I..." He smiled. He could have Robby forever if he wanted and he truly wanted that. "Is forever an option?"

Robby chuckled. "How about we be a cliche? Your bedroom is right there and you are aching." Robby's eyes tracked him all over and Dennis blushed darker. "Seven minutes in heaven." He whispered to Dennis. "Is all that I need when I get with him." Fuck that song had become their thing lately.

"Seven minutes in heaven. I hope in the end that I'm not a virgin." Dennis laughed and leaned in, kissing him slowly.

"You haven't been a virgin for a long time, Dennis. And tonight, I'm going to make sure of that." Dennis let out a laugh as RObby picked him up and carried them to the bedroom, leaving the door open.

Chapter 24: Little Denny

Summary:

AU where Dennis regresses and Robby finds out when he ends up going to check on him after a particularly stressful shift.

Chapter Text

Fuck, that shift was hard. Robby looks at his phone and sees it's been almost two hours since the shift, and the group chat he had reluctantly joined was worried about Dennis. He picked up his phone with a confused stare and opened the messages.

Dr. King: I tried calling him, and he isn't answering. Santos?

Dr. Santos: I mean, I'm not at the apartment; maybe he passed out. He did look out of it when I dropped him off.

Dana: You didn't talk to him?

Dr. Javadi: I asked him if he wanted to come with us; he said no.

BLOCKED NUMBER: Well, he won't answer my calls.

That was Frank. It had to be. Robby hadn't unblocked him still, and he sighed, pressing the contact and hitting the unblock button.

Dana: Robby, have you heard from him?

This made Robby sit up. No, he actually hadn't. Dennis would have at least sent him a message saying he got home. He usually did. After Louie died, they had to be each other's anchor. In secret.

Robby: No, but let me call him. Maybe he did fall asleep.

Robby sighed and went to his contacts, clicking on 'Dennis' and then pressing the call button. He sat there and listened to the phone ring...and ring...and ring? Uh oh. Robby listened to two more rings and then hung up before a voicemail could start. He opened their texts and sent a message.

Robby: Hey Dennis, are you asleep? Don't read this if you are. Sleep well.

Robby expected it to go unseen, but he straightened up when he saw the 'Read' appear below the message. He's awake. Why isn't he answering the phone then? Robby opened the group chat again and sent a message before throwing some money down and grabbing his keys.

Robby: I'm going to check on him.

Three little emojis appeared below it, and so he knew that meant they saw it. He headed out to his motorcycle and drove the few minutes to Santos and Dennis's apartment. They were on the sixth floor, but Robby didn't care. He parked his motorcycle in the spot for their apartment number and rushed up to the elevator. The waiting made him tap his foot and check his phone. Nothing from Dennis saying he was okay. Nothing at all. The doors opened, and he pushed in, pressing the 6 button, also pressing the 'close doors' button. He watched the numbers change, and it felt like forever before the elevator opened to the long hallway. He headed down the hall to the apartment, 602. He knocked and waited.

No answer. He knocked again and waited again. Nothing. He sighed and knocked once more. "Dennis, it's Robby. I'm here to check on you."

The inside was quiet, but then he heard the door unlock, and when the door opened, he didn't expect to see what he did.

Dennis was standing there, and he was just staring up at Robby with those precious eyes. But his face was partially hidden. "Hey Dennis." Robby smiled softly but then noticed he wasn't speaking. "Are you sick? The group chat is so worried about you." He shook his head, confusing Robby even more. And then Robby noticed that the thing hiding his mouth was a dog stuffie. "That's the cutest stuffed animal." Dennis nodded and looked away. Robby tried to step in the apartment, but Dennis stopped him.

"No." The voice was muffled and small, but Robby knew it was Dennis's.

"Why can't I come in? Dennis, if you're sick, I can take care of you." Dennis shook his head quickly. "Oh well, what's wrong?" Dennis shook his head again. "Dennis, I can't help you if you don't...let me."

Dennis took a slow breath and dropped his arms by his sides, the dog moving to show the thing Dennis had been hiding. And Robby knew right away why he was hiding it. It was a pacifier.

"Oh." Robby wasn't angry, wasn't upset. He was confused. "Can you explain it to me?"

Dennis felt like he was going to break down from the kind voice Robby gave. He nodded and sniffled, letting Robby in. Robby walked in, and Dennis shut the door behind him while Robby walked into the living room. The living room was set up for a watch session, or binge watching. And Bluey was on the TV. Dennis had snacks and what seemed like lots of stuffed animals. Robby smiled and looked over, only just now taking in Dennis's attire. He was wearing a big sweater that was definitely big on purpose and Cookie Monster pajama pants. And socks with Bluey and Bingo on them. He looked just...precious.

"Have you eaten? Are you hungry? I see snacks but no meals." Dennis shook his head. "Are you hungry, Dennis?" Dennis nodded softly and so Robby walked over. "Go sit on the couch. How does some chicken noodle soup sound, I'm certain you guys have that. And I can make you a grilled cheese maybe?"

Dennis nodded softly.

"Okay go sit down." Robby spent thirty minutes doing chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese for them both. He heard Bluey playing in the background and didn't notice Dennis come into the kitchen until he turned around to get a spatula to flip the grilled cheese. "Oh Jesus Christ, kiddo you scared me. What's wrong?" Dennis looked like he was about to break down. "Oh no no don't cry I got you." He pulled Dennis into a hug and Dennis nuzzled into his chest. "I've got you Dennis. I'm right here."

Dennis tugged on his jacket and Robby looked down. He smiled when he realized Dennis was holding his dog stuffie up to him. "Yes I see the puppy. Is this your puppy?" Dennis nodded. "Okay go sit back down. It's almost done."

When it was finally done, Robby set it all down on the coffee table, having to move the platter of just cheese cubes in order to do so. "Okay its hot so we should wait for it to cool." He looked at Dennis who pat the spot next to him on the couch. Robby felt so weird about this but it also didn't feel wrong. "I'll sit with you." He sat down and took off his shoes, just then realizing he still had them on. "I know this shift was hard wasn't it?" Dennis nodded, making a soft 'mhm' noise. "Yeah well...is this what you do when you have hard shifts?" Dennis nodded again. "Even...when...Louie?" Dennis nodded and thats when Robby remembered receiving the text that Dennis was sick the day after and couldn't go in. "You weren't sick, you were sad." Dennis nodded.

It hurt Robby to see Dennis unable to communicate his needs. "I've got you now. You know that? I got you Dennis, I'm here."

The soup was still a little hot for Dennis so Robby waited to eat with him. They watched one more episode of Bluey before Dennis spit out the pacifier into the direction of one of his stuffed animals. "Hungry." He finally spoke and Robby smiled.

"You're hungry? Here, lets sit down on the floor so it's easier to eat. Okay?" Dennis nodded, smiling as he sat on the floor next to Robby.

They ate in silence but after the soup and the grilled cheese were gone, Dennis changed. He was...better.

"I'm sorry." Robby looked over to see Dennis was absolutely embarrassed. "I shouldn't be doing this anymore. I'm a doctor and...its not like anyone would care about me."

"Dennis...I care about you what are you talking about?"

"Would you actually want to take care of me?"

"Dennis I need to undersand why you do this."

"Well um..." Dennis rubbed his hands together. "When I was going through med school, it got so hard and one day I just...slipped. I can't remember much from it but it was nice. And when I came out of it...I was great. I passed all my exams that next week and I decided I would look into it."

"What's it called?"

"It's called regression. Age regression, to be specific. I'm sorry."

"Why? Dennis you're safe. I've got you. I've got you, Dennis." Robby reached out and pet Dennis's head. Dennis had to do everything to keep from nuzzling into it. "Do you want to go back in I guess?"

"I mean...yeah? Maybe? I feel safe with you and I only really come out when I feel worried. You don't find me gross?"

"No. You're precious." Robby smiled. Dennis smiled back and blushed.

"Thanks."

Chapter 25: Jack and Samira Need To Sleep

Summary:

Cute fluffy cuddles in Samira's apartment after a long shift. They both decide something big after.

Chapter Text

The door to the apartment opened, and Samira trudged in first. She dropped her duffle bag next to the front door and toed her shoes off, limping into the bedroom. She didn't realize Jack was not following her until she turned around and saw him on his phone. "Jack, please, let's just..." She gestured weakly to the bed, and Jack looked up, giving a soft smile as he walked up to her.

"I was texting Robby to let him know I was going to bed."

"Your relationship with that man is insane."

"Hey, our relationship is insane, if anything." Jack chuckled. "Go put on your pajamas; I'll put the bed together." Samira walked into the closet, and Jack got to work, unmaking the bed and putting it the way she liked: the scent warmer on with her favorite scent in it—caramel—and then the pillows are set up in a U shape at the head of the bed. He pulled his shoes off and his clothes off. He opened his bag and put on his hoodie and sweatpants. He cut the overhead light on and grabbed her Kindle from the bookshelf, setting it on her bedside table. He went into the kitchen and got them both a glass of water before coming back and setting them down. He sat on the edge of the bed and removed his prosthetic.

Samira came back in the room, and Jack turned to see she was wearing his shirt and her favorite sweatpants. "You look...nice." She smiled and climbed into bed, sighing in relief.

"You look exhausted." He reached out and got under the covers too, cupping her face in his hand. They both let out groans when their phones rang and sat up, seeing it was the group chat. Samira rolled her eyes and plugged her phone in.

"Nope, too much energy for that." She rolled onto her stomach and cuddled into the pillow. "I'm not going to fall asleep on you if you don't lie down." That threat made Jack plug up his phone and lie down, pulling her close. She turned and cuddled up to him. "You know, I missed you. When you talked about joining SWAT, I didn't think you were serious."

"Samira, I'm serious about everything I do in life. Okay? I just can't stay still."

"What about me?"

"I can stay still with you." He whispered into her ear. "I love you so much."

"I love you too, Jack." She cuddled into his chest again. "What did you want to talk about this morning?"

"I mean, it can wait till the morning. I'm so fucking tired, Sami, that if we don't fall asleep soon, I'm not going to take you to work."

"Well, I am so sorry, but I don't need you to take me to work. "It's fine." She laughed into his hoodie and kissed his chest.

"I love you so much, Sami."

Their breathing patterns slow and match, Jack softly mumbling as he lies there while Samira traces small patterns on his chest.

They say nothing for the longest time, but Jack speaks up first.

"You aren't asleep." He chuckles when Samira softly sighs into his chest.

"I just can't fall asleep, and neither can you." She mumbled and sat up, moving to sit up much better, back to the headboard.

"Do you need a bath? Do you need to have some tea? I know I got us water but if you need tea, then—"

"Well, I just think I'm still running through the adrenaline rush of the shift. Maybe we should do something to help me calm down?"

"No, I think you just need some comfort." Jack sits up carefully and then pulls Samira in by the waist until she's between his legs. "I can give you a massage." He slowly rubbed her shoulders and smirked when Samira let out a satisfied breath. "You needed this, didn't you?"

"Listen, we are not having sex—"

"Wasn't going to ask. Just want you to sleep." He leaned down and kissed her on the nape of her neck. "And besides, we don't have any energy for this, so we have to sleep. And you work tomorrow."

"Remind me again why you think I am the one for you?" She laughed softly.

"Samira, you are everything I need, want, and have." Jack pulled her closer, resting his head on her shoulder. "You and I may not have had the best beginning," Samira snorts at that remark, "but I am glad we have become this...whatever we are."

"Yeah, you may never be my boyfriend, because we're not twelve, but maybe one day we can do...more."

"More?" Jack's breath caught when she said that. Did she actually consider marrying Jack?

"Well, yeah. I mean, we are two imperfect souls in this imperfect universe where no one understands us. But we are perfect together. And I would like this relationship to never stop." Samira turned to look into Jack's eyes. He was very close. Very close. Their noses touch, and Samira giggles, making Jack smile more.

"Oh my goodness." He pulled her into a sweet kiss. It was truly loving, and Samira turned her whole body, legs resting across his leg as she kissed him more. "Samira Mohan-Abbot does have a nice ring to it. Doesn't it?"

"I think Samira Abbot sounds great too." She pulled out of the kisses and kissed his cheek. "Mrs. Abbot. I like that sound."

"I never thought we would be talking marriage." Jack smiled. "I just thought this would be a fling and you would find someone else you want."

"Joaquin Abbot, there is no one else I want." His full name sounded amazing from her lips.

"We should slow down." He cups her cheek in his hand.

"No, we shouldn't. We're ER doctors. Life changes so much and moves so fast, and we both know that. I will never stop loving you, and frankly, the fact you think I will is insane."

"Promise?" Jack stuck his pinky out to her, and she laughed softly, hooking her pinky around his.

"I promise you that." She smiled and leaned up, kissing his lips. "Now, maybe we should try to rest."

"If you don't fall asleep in thirty minutes, you are taking a hot bath and drinking tea." He threatens playfully and kisses her face all over.

"Okay." She smiles and nods, laying down in his arms and cuddling into his chest. She laid there and finally fell asleep with Jack's hand tracing up and down her spine.

"I love you so much Samira." He whispered.

Chapter 26: Bunny Girl and Sad Rat Man Have A Book Club

Summary:

Dennis and Emma spend their night off discussing the books they have been reading and realize they're both super into...older people.

Chapter Text

It started as just recommendations for each other between patients, and then giving each other books to read when they find out what the other is trying to read. And now they spend their Friday nights sitting on Dennis's couch drinking water and eating meals while talking about books they should read. Tonight they are sitting wrapped up in blankets because the heat in the apartment broke and its winter. Dennis and Trinity called their landlord and he will be there in the morning. Emma is wrapped in a Star Wars blanket and Dennis is wrapped in his comforter. There is a tray of grilled cheeses and tomato soup on the table and both of them have hot cocoa clutched in their hands, sipping when they stop speaking.

"So you finally read Caught Up?" Dennis smiles as he looks at Emma. She blushes red and nods.

"Yeah I actually did. I finished it. Why didn't you tell me how good it was?" She giggled and sipped her cocoa.

"Because then you would have thought I was a liar. Okay tell me your favorite scene." He chuckles.

"Oh I mean...there is a lot but what kind of scene?" She giggles again.

"Oh you have favorites of other stuff? Not just the smut?"

"Dennis I love the smut but I do enjoy the outside of it stuff too." She giggled. "I think I like the fact he was stalking her kind of and subscribing to her. And maybe...I liked their backstory. It was cute."

"Okay so what smut did you like?" He sticks out a pointer finger and makes a wiggle gesture.

She tries to play it cool but she falls into a red blush and her face rests into her hand. "The scene of the photobooth."

"Of course you did, I liked that! What else? Don't be vague."

"Okay so I love when they are in the club and watching the scene...its just so good." Her eyes are not looking at Dennis and he places a hand on her shoulder.

"Emma you can like the sex scenes. And you aren't going to be ashamed about it."

"I'm not ashamed. I just...I got distracted while reading...I read another book."

"What book? Are you cheating on me?" He jokingly puts his hand on his heart in offence.

"No I would never. But I found this book that I really like. And its called The Lily and The Crown."

"Hang on I've heard of that." Dennis grabs his phone and Googles it. "OH MY GOD YES! I love it I don't know what about it I love most but its just so good."

"Wait...are you allowed to read that?"

"Emma....why the fuck do you think I wouldn't be allowed to read it?"

"Getting Ogilvie fired made you mean. I love it." She giggles. "But I don't know. Its a lesbian book."

"I'm a gay man, does it look like I'm reading it for the sex scenes? No I'm reading it for the cute little parts."

Emma giggles and nods. "Oh did you end up buying Project Hail Mary or are we still planning on watching it later?"

"Girl I am not going to watch that movie until I finish every last page of that book. But if Ryan Gosling walks out of my TV...just know I'm a little...gone." They both laugh and Emma sips her wine. The silence settles over them until Dennis's phone buzzes. Its a text that Emma happens to glance at.

Mikey: Jane is asleep, hows book club?

Emma smiled. "He couldn't think of a name for her?" She gestured to the message. Dennis shook his head.

"He doesn't even know if he's allowed to name her. She's Baby Jane Doe to everyone in the ED so he figured Jane was a fine name for her. He also thinks that the name Celestia is stupid."

Emma laughed loudly. "Celestia? You wanted to call her Celestia?"

"Well she's just the smartest baby so yeah."

"Dennis you are absolutely crazy." She laughed and opened her phone up. "Do the shifts ever get easier?" She spoke softly. She'd been struggling a lot lately and didn't know when to bring it up.

Dennis sighed. "Not really. You know I mean Amy and the baby used to be my only outside world until we started hanging out." He sighed again. "Amy kissed me the other night." He whispered out. "I haven't told Robby. I'm scared."

"Did you like it?" Emma speaks softly.

"Was I supposed to? It was...odd. I hated it, actually. She was slightly drunk and I'd laid the baby down and all of a sudden she walks up to me and kisses me. She actually kisses me. It lasted way too long and then she pulled away and went to bed. I was confused. I still am."

"Well you should tell Amy you aren't interested. And you have to tell Robby. He is your...whatever you two are after all." She shrugged and sighed when Dennis shook his head.

"You know what he told me when he found out about Amy and the baby? He told me he didn't want me to get caught up in the hospital stuff too much. He wants me to have my own things. But I just...don't want to. At first I was helping her because she needed it, but now I feel awkward even thinking about going back."

"Does she remember it?"

"No. Not at all. She was plastered." He let out a long slow breath. "I just...why can't people leave me alone to let me love Robby?" He covered his mouth as Emma smiled widely and sat up.

"You love him!? Oh my god I have to tell Ellis right now!"

"No no please please do not tell her. I do not want to hear about it. I already hate Huckleberry and Funkytown enough." He shook his head, pleading with her. Emma almost felt bad. Almost.

The phone started ringing before Dennis could try and snatch it from her. Dennis didn't even realize that Ellis's contact didn't say 'Ellis' in it. Emma put the phone on speaker and would immediately regret that fact.

"Hey baby whats up?" Ellis made Emma blush and Dennis's brow furrowed.

"Baby?" He spoke and Emma made a 'shush' notion.

"Am I bothering you on shift?"

"No no I mean yeah but I'm in the elevator heading up to the roof why?" There is a voice in the background before Ellis speaks again. "Oh Shen says hi."

"Hi Shen." Ellis relays the message before Emma continues. "Guess what Dennis just told me. Guess guess guess!"

"He and Abbot are having sex? No he's not that crazy. Oh wait he and Ogilvie tried to kill each other and that's why Ogilvie got fired? No he doesn't do violence. Ugh I give up tell me."

"He's in love with Robby." There is silence and then mumbles and then a loud 'AWWWW' comes through the phone.

"So cute!" Shen's voice comes through, now they were clearly on speakerphone. "Please tell me you are going to tell him? There is not enough happiness around this place lately."

"I don't know!" Dennis finally spoke. "Also how long has this been going on?"

Emma giggled. "You remember when I was attacked and they had to take care of me? Well Dana sent Parker to check on me when I took too long in the bathroom. I was really emotional. She helped me calm down and made sure that I was okay until I went home. And then she got my number and then she called me."

"Since July!? Wow. Woooow." He crossed his arms. "I thought we were friends Emma." He's clearly joking.

"We are I just didn't know what to tell you."

He smiled. "We're both into...older people."

"Uh excuse you how old do you think I am!?" Parker let out a scream through the phone.

"Sorry."

They both laugh and smile at one another.

Chapter 27: Hard Conversations

Summary:

Robby and Dennis have a sit down conversation, in a hospital bed.

Dennis is trans in this. Thanks!

Chapter Text

Dennis knew it was stupid to even think about going out on a date with anyone before his shift. Especially a guy who doesn't know Austria and Australia were two different countries. But he was cute and had a motorcycle and wasn't his boss who looks good in literally everything but Dennis wants to see him in nothing. But still, he'd gone on the date.

And where did they go? The damn ice rink. Dennis can't skate, even after living in Pittsburgh for almost five years and going to the rink every time Trinity wanted to go and have a break from their apartment or when Mel and Frank and Becca and Adam (Becca's boyfriend) realized he'd be alone for the holidays and invited him on their double date to the rink as a fifth wheel where he spent the entire time clung to walls and sitting on the benches outside the wink, he can't skate. He's tried to learn but its always humiliating when someone points out a grown man can't skate but can perform really complex procedures at the hospital.

And he definitely knew it was an even worse idea when the guy tried to teach him to skate. Peter, yeah its a stupid name even Dennis knows that, held Dennis's hands and kinda tugged him around the rink for the first fifteen minutes. Then he pushed Dennis out onto the ice and told him that he had to skate himself back to the gate. Dennis hated this so much. He struggled to even move a few feet before he did the cartoon character thing and stumbled a few times before he fell on his face. And he broke his nose. At least he thinks so because blood poured from it. His body hurt as he heard someone skate over to help turn him onto his side. It was Peter but he was laughing. Until he saw the blood and his crooked nose. "Oh shit." Peter pulled out his phone and called 911.

So yeah, that's what's happened this morning. Dennis is now sitting in his OWN ED department with Dana looking him over while Mel asks him questions. "What happened?" I fell while skating on a date with a guy. "Did you lose consciousness?" No I wish I had. "Are you having any neck pain?" No. "Any medical history we should know about?" Dennis just looked at her and she nodded. "Okay. And where is this 'guy' anyways?"

That was a question Dennis wanted the answer to. Where was Peter and why the fuck did he leave him alone? "I don't know. I don't think I even want to really know- ow Dana that hurts." Dana is touching the bridge of his nose which is bruised.

"I'm just making sure that you can feel it."

"I can feel it. I can feel everything. Can we just shove my nose back into place now?" Dennis wanted to go home and shower the shame away and then watch whatever movie sounded right to drown out his sorrows until his shift tomorrow.

"Sorry, Whittaker, no can do." Oh god. Dennis's gaze travels from Dana to the one man he didn't want to see. Robby. Standing there in his black scrubs with a burgundy t-shirt underneath as well as wearing new glasses. "What happened?"

Dennis goes to make up a lie but Mel speaks before he can stop her. "He was on a date at the rink and fell on his face."

Robby hides the initial reaction to the word 'date' because if he showed it he would get fucking reported. "Oh wow. Must hurt really bad."

"Pittsburgh's finest doctor want a look?" Dennis tries to joke but it hurts too much to laugh.

"Are you okay Dennis? You don't have any torso pain? Neck pain?"

"No I'm fine its just my nose hurts really bad and my lungs are a little sore I guess I just want to go home." Robby doesn't speak, just makes a motion for Dennis to lift his top. Dennis slowly and carefully lifts the top, letting out small gasps as he felt the air on his skin. Dennis stopped just below his binder and Robby waited. "I don't think I can lift it much higher." He says softly, trying to get out of admitting anything to the three people in the room who were basically family.

Robby sighed and examined the available space, finding small bruises but he then lifts Dennis's shirt up a bit higher and stops because he sees it. The black binder that definitely was cutting into Dennis's skin. "Dana, Mel, would you mind stepping out please? Just for a few moments?"

"Not until I fix his nose." Dana looks to Dennis who sighs and gives her the go ahead. She forces his nose back into place. "I'll be back in a bit." She gestures Mel to leave the room with her and they shut the door behind themselves.

Robby closes the curtain that sees into the room and helps Dennis out of the sweater entirely. The younger man is compliant because fuck seeing Robby take care of him made Dennis want so much.

"So a date?" He say after some time.

"Oh um yeah it was nothing. Probably won't be a second date...definitely won't be actually."

"You liked him?" He lifts the edge of the binder just enough to see the skin which is bruised to a level of intensity.

"Not really. He had this air of ass to him. And all I liked was his motorcycle which isn't even his it's his dad's."

"Ouch that sucks."

"Yeah. I should've never made the decision to agree to a date." Dennis lets out a long breath and Robby looks up.

"Why? Also would you be okay if we took this off? I wanna get a listen on your lungs and make sure that you're okay."

"Can I put my sweater back on?" He asked and Robby nodded, watching as Dennis puts the sweater back on, arms excluded, and then after a few minutes of wiggling around and movement, his arms pop out and one hand has the binder in it. He sets it down on the hospital bed and Robby puts the stethoscope on, being mindful as he slides it underneath the sweater and finds the perfect space to listen.

"You know what to do." Robby says and Dennis does so, breathing in and out simply at first and then deeply the second time Robby asks him to do so. Robby's hand comes out from under the sweater after a moment and sat down on the bed next to Dennis's feet. "Okay so your lungs sound okay, maybe a little tight. Do you want to talk about it?"

"About...?"

"The fact there is significant bruising around the binder lines? The fact you didn't seem to want to be here? The part where you did this on a date? Any of it?"

Dennis shrunk in on himself and looked away. "I just don't like taking it off. And sometimes I forget. I can't help that."

"Dennis you could have died." Robby places a hand on Dennis's shaking one which makes him look up. Robby cared about him truly.

"I just wanted to feel normal. I mean that date was a disaster before it started and I hated every second. But I can't exactly date who I want right now."

"Why not?"

Dennis makes his straight face and shakes his head. He was not going to confess to his boss in the hospital they work at. Its unprofessional.

"Come on Dennis, tell me."

"Because the person I wanna date definitely isn't into me."

"Well then they're stupid." The sentence comes out and Dennis blushes as he looks into his eyes.

"Yeah? How stupid?" He spoke softly and laid back into the bed.

"Well they definitely wouldn't be as smart and kind as you so they already lose and they probably hate the stuff you like. Tell me about them."

"He um...he's tall, and he's smart, he's got an attachment to this hospital."

"Oh so it's someone here?" Robby starts to think. "Frank? Absolutely not ew never."

Dennis laughed a bit and shook his head. "No not Frank. Never him."

"Oh okay. So there's Abbot, Mateo, Ogilvie which is not a decision you should make, me but that's insane...hmm...Shen, Jesse is attractive I'll give you that..."

Dennis smiles as he listens to Michael try and figure it out.  "Well I mean who else is there?"

Michael shrugged. "I don't even think about..." Michael turned a shade of pink. "Oh." He spoke softly.

Dennis nodded one day and smiled up at him. "You get what I'm saying?"

"I think you are making a mistake." The words hit Dennis like a bus.

"What?"

"Dennis you are a doctor here in the ED. Interacting in this way with Jack is not appropriate." That brought Dennis back to reality.

"Jack? Dr. Abbot? You think...?" Dennis started laughing. "Oh my goodness no no we love Dr. Abbot but at the same time I will not ever look at him like that. Ever." He spoke and looked into his eyes.

Michael nodded, still not sure what to say. "Okay...so who is it?"

Dennis said nothing, biting his inner cheek. "Its um....you." He said softly.

"Oh wow. Me? Are you sure?" Michael thought about it but it did make sense. He and Dennis had been more physically interactive at work. "Okay. But the date...?"

"He drove a motorcycle and called me pretty. My standards are in hell lately." He laughed and sat back into the bed again.

"Motorcycle? That wouldn't happen to be the reason you like me is it?"

"No no I mean yes and no I guess. Fuck I don't know." He blushed and smiled up at him. "Where is Dana with that splint?"

Robby got up. "I'll go get it." He walked out and left Dennis to the peace of the room where he shuts his eyes.

"Hey." The voice wakes him up and he sees Trinity.

"Oh hey." She had this worry on her face. "I'm fine. It's getting fixed."

"Okay." She sat down on the bed and examined the rest of his face. "You look okay nevertheless." She notices the binder and smiled. "Let me see the bruises." She'd been trying to enforce safe-wearing and sometimes she had to tend to the bruises which maybe turned into cuts. Dennis lifted the sweater and she let out a soft gasp, concern spreading through her face. "Dennis they're purple." She ran her thumb over the mark which made Dennis suck in a breath.

"I thought I'd be okay if I slept in it."

"Seriously? I told you you can't sleep in this. This is mine now." She snatches the binder. "And you have to promise me that you won't wear this for the next two days."

Dennis whines. "But Trinity please. I need it."

"Nope. You don't need it. Not right now. It's bruising you and makes it hard for you to breathe." She took his hands. "You are going to take a bath, a long one too, and then you are going to come into work tomorrow. Regular scrubs. if someone questions you I will fight them for you."

Dennis let out a soft laugh and nodded. "Okay. But you and I are getting donuts and lattes tomorrow morning." Trinity nodded and got up, giving him a side hug when Robby comes back in.

"Santos, go do your charting before someone yells at you." She nods and leaves the room, leaving Dennis and Robby alone again.

"So me?" Robby spoke softly, making Dennis look up.

"Yeah."

"And you never told me?"

"I mean why would I tell you I was into you? You never seemed into anyone at all."

"Well I'm old, I'm not sure that you even knew I was gay before this."

"And I kinda thought you and Abbot were together."

"Jack? Me and Jack? Oh god no no we had a thing in med school but nothing else. And he's trying to get with Samira." He whispered out.

"Samira? Really? Wow." He spoke softly. "So what do you want to do?"

"Do? What are you talking out?"

"Are we going to go on a date? Are we something? Do you wanna do something?"

"Oh." Robby smiled. "What about Amy?"

"Amy? She's just a friend. And its something to do that gets my mind off life."

"And the baby?"

"I'm the godfather now. It's crazy but that little kid has got a hold on me." Dennis smiled and looked at Robby, blushing when he realized he had 'that' look. "What?"

"You seem happy. Why would you want to be with me?"

"Because you make me happy." Dennis took his hand and smiled up at him. "You really do."

Robby looked down at his hand and then up at Dennis. "We can't kiss on my shift."

"We can't kiss at all in the ED, Gloria." He whispered out Gloria's name and smiled as Robby laughed and nodded. "But we can kiss at your place."

"Mine?"

"Well Trinity would probably try to film it." He laughed. "So you and I could go to your place...tonight?" He spoke softly and Robby nodded.
