Summary
“And I will make of you, yeah, I'm gonna make of you another believer”
It's not that you were completely against falling in love. It's that you were tired of being disappointed constantly. You were dedicated to your work. You loved what you did and you were content with only loving your job. That is, until an extremely awkward and mouse-like resident somehow slips his way in. Literally.

You are a new ED nurse at PTMC. Dennis Whitaker is an R1. He slips on the wet floor and into your life, which causes you to spill your coffee. Given your "hard to piss off" nature, all you can do is smile at him and brush it off. You think about him way more than you should afterward and suddenly, he seemed very interested in the sweet nurse who is pure sunshine personified and will do anything to woo her.

Summary
He can’t help but watch the side of her face. The set line of her brow, her lower lip tucked tightly between her teeth, the squint in her eyes. It all loosens — relaxes to elation — when she finishes, stepping back with a proud smile. Frank, unfortunately and because he wants nothing more than to bask in the glow of success, has to step further away and position himself at the computer again. Hoping to hide how tight his scrubs have suddenly gotten. He isn’t sure when he developed a kink for seeing Mel succeed at doing something, but it’s making his job (and other things) a lot harder than it should be.
How is he supposed to teach her if all he can think about is bending her over to reward her for a job well done?

Set only weeks after season two, Mel is forced to face her greatest fear of being completely and utterly alone, while Langdon has to accept that everything he once had is now gone.
Or, a really long slow burn character study in which we witness Mel and Frank’s developing relationship while they carry on through the chaos of the ED and their own lives.

Summary
“I’m jealous.” It escapes before she can let herself back out, “That my sister has a sex life, and I don’t.”
She doesn’t know why she’s admitting that to him. She honestly doesn’t. It’s embarrassing.
“Right there with you.” His voice is low, “How long–?”
She chews at the bottom of her lip, doing the mental math, “Three years…You?”
“Thirteen months.”
Warmth pools in between her legs, and she clutches his hand like it’s a lifeline.
It’s barely a whisper, she’s so afraid to say it,
“Close the trunk.”
---
“Wait, holy shit, King–” The wand stills inside of her as Trinity freezes the frame.
“What?” She asks, “God, it didn’t nick something, did it? I’m not about to bleed to death?”
“No, but you might pass out.” Trinity answers, “Maybe?”
“What is it?” She tries to sit up, but Trinity’s already turning the ultrasound monitor around to show her.
Her heart stills as she takes in the tiny flickering heartbeat on the screen in front of her, “Oh–”

Summary
"Can a ghost haunt you if there's no body to prove they're gone?"
Grief is just a room you learn to live in. For eight years, Dennis made it a home. He painted the walls, rearranged the furniture the way he liked it and he left the door unlocked just in case. For whatever came next.
Eight Julys ago Michael Robinavitch walked out of the Pitt, got on his motorcycle and never came back, and each one since has been a reminder of the anniversary he couldn't mourn and the start he couldn't escape—new interns, new students, new faces filling the same old halls. Not his, never his again.
Then John Carter walked through the door.
And Dennis realized he'd never actually decided if he wanted to move on. Move out.
Title based on Sufjan Stevens "John My Beloved"
Sequel to "The Driver, the Shadow, the Hearse". I strongly recommend reading it before starting this.
Updates bi-weekly, more or less.

Summary
One year after his return to the PTMC, if you asked Frank Langdon what his plans were going to be for a week in July, he probably would not have predicted he'd be spending it vacationing with his colleagues at a campground somewhere in the Poconos. But it's not just the weather that's heating up and making him sweat... his relationship with Mel King is on the verge of becoming something else entirely.

Summary
If Mel King was anything, she was prepared. Especially working somewhere as unpredictable as The Pit, she needed to be ready in case of any hygiene-related emergency that could occur. She didn’t have enough fingers to count the number of times she had gotten a patient’s bodily fluids on her. It only made sense for her to carry an oversized cosmetic bag filled with essentials at all times.
As her hand finally made contact with the pouch, she grabbed it quickly and made her way to the bathroom. She placed the bag on the counter and unzipped it, watching the sides bag out due to how full it was. She rummaged through the bag in search of her toothbrush and toothpaste, when in her haste she accidentally grabbed a tampon. She stared at it for a moment, a look of deep thought coming over her face.
Oh. Oh.
___Or: Mel finds out she's pregnant and confides in Dana. This is how everyone finds out.

Summary
“You should get back home to your wife,” she says carefully, slowly, like it’s a reprimand she doesn’t trust him to register as one unless she draws attention to it.
He pretends he didn’t hear her.
It’s only later, at the bus stop, that a firm sense of certainty washes over Frank for the first time in a very long time. He’d gotten it all wrong. Mel clearly has someone else to preoccupy herself with. It was embarrassing, really, to assume she would want a fuck up like him. At that moment, like the punctuation to some cosmic joke, the wedding ring he’s been fingering absentmindedly slips off his finger and skitters around in a circle between his feet. He crouches down to pick it back up as the last bus home flies past. He half wishes it had hit him; it probably would have hurt less than the realisation that he has feelings for Mel King, and she doesn’t feel the same way.
OR
Frank Langdon is certain that Mel King has a crush on him, until he's not. He then spends the Winter trying and failing to avoid her, setting and breaking rules of engagement, and trying to keep it all a secret from his wife.

Summary
Frank starts peppering kisses all over her face, from her cheeks to her nose to her jaw. "You loooove me," he teases playfully, squeezing her waist as he keeps kissing her, making her laugh. "You wanna maaarry me."
"You're ridiculous," Mel tells him when he finally pulls away for longer than a second, but she's beaming up at him, and she's sure that the look on her face can only be described as "stupidly lovestruck." (Becca's words. Cheesy, but accurate.)
Frank smiles seeing it, and that's all that matters, really. He has a similar look on his face most of the time anyway.

Summary
When an unexpected trauma lands in the ER, truths and secrets are revealed about Langdon’s life outside of the hospital. And when the first person who immediately saw Mel for who she was needs help, she’s there.
(I am awful at these summary things but just know I’m a slow burn angst/comfort bitch and these two are precious together so here I am writing my first Pitt fic, I swear I’ll update this once I get more plot out there. Rating for futures chapters)
