The brightness of the morning light slightly blinds his eyes, stirring around groggily rubbing at his eyes lazily with a yawn.
The rabbit groans loudly sitting up straight on the bed, stretching his lanky limbs tiredly another yawn escaping him.
Jax couldn't remember the last time he slept that good, he was tamped to go back to sleep right then and there but his mind told him something else.
His eyes flickered around taking in the room around him, remembering they were both stuck in this adventure. Which had seemed like a grueling nightmare but now it didn't seem so bad.
His eyes looked over spotting a familiar figure in the sheets next to him before he nearly jumped off the bed.
Pomni fell asleep next to him, they both had fallen asleep next to each other talking last night.
They both talked about their day, both letting each other know what had happened for each other during the span of their day.
Pomni was very amused with the shenanigans with other employees had gone through, she even had a laugh at the part where they all got locked inside the meeting room as a 'punishment'"
It was far from funny for him, but he was glad to see her actually smile especially for what he put her through.
She had apparently planned on just staying in the room and locking him out it but forgot to lock the door. If she had he would deserved it for sure, he was glad she didn't or he probably have chickened out on telling her.
She looked so peaceful in bed, her face soft and delicate looking. He felt his heart flutter just watching her, it was so diffident compared to just sneaking glances at her. Now he could just stare at her beautiful face all he wanted without feeling afraid.
He could just stare at her for hours, it was hypnotizing for him especially with how peaceful she looked. He couldn't help with how cute she looked while she slept.
As if she could somehow sense he was thinking about her Pomni started to stir around in her sleep yawning loudly rubbing at her eyes. Her gorgeous kaleidoscope eyes opens up, darting around the room slightly before landing on him.
Pomni gets up on the bed yawning loudly stretching her limbs as she takes a look around "You just wake up too?" She asked, her voice groggy like.
"Yeah just did before you" Jax nodded in confirmation, watching as she laid there not seeming to be in any hurry to get up just laying there with him.
Was he the only one that was freaking out about this?
"I guess we just both felt asleep while we were talking, that was the best sleep I've had in a while" Pomni admits with a soft smile as she curls up slightly in the bed.
"Yeah I can say the same for me too, slept like a rock" Jax nodded in agreement, a slight amused chuckle escaping from him.
"Mmmhh" Pomni hummed slightly adjusting herself to make herself more comfortable as she turned over to him so she could face him.
"Feels nice sleeping in a bed, can see why you decided to hog it for yourself" She teased at him, a playful smile plastered on her face.
"Yeahhhh I mean it's so good to sleep in a bed….also I needed a private space for myself from everything" He admitted to her, voice shaky as he spoke.
Pomni listened to him, eyes entirely focused on him and just him. Like he was the only thing that mattered there.
"Sorry again for that, I was a jerk wad about that. Really should have just let you have it" Jax says rubbing the back of his head in guilt.
"It's okay really I mean yeah it was a jerk move, I can see why you did though and I'm not gonna hold that against you" Pomni says with a soft looking smile, gentle eyes peering at him.
"Still I really screwed up things with you, I can't take back what I did and I wanna make it up to you somehow and make things right" He tells her with sincerity, awkwardly spitting out the words the best he could.
"We-Well yeah but-" Pomni says trying to talk but stopped as his own voice talked over her.
"No Pom Pom I mean it….you don't have to make excuses for me. I screwed up and I see that now, I do want to be better. Not just for me, for you as well because you deserve that. I want to be a man that's worthy of you, if you'll let me prove that I can be I'll happily do so" Jax says, voice coming out slowly and awkwardly forcing the words out the best he could.
"But I've had enough, I screwed up enough and wanna give this a shot. I was so scared to let anyone in, to see the real me but since we've been stuck in this adventure I realized that I'm even more scared of losing you. I've never felt this connected with anyone before….I mean well there was someone but…." He trails off nervously, feeling his chest stutter as he talked to her watching her kaleidoscope eyes study him as he kept talking.
"The point is this is the first time I've ever felt a conversation like ours here and it's one of the best things to happen to me. I don't wanna throw that away after thinking it over, why throw away a good thing right? But I understand if you don't wanna even bother with me" He continues, voice slightly shaky as he was getting the words out.
He had no idea how this relationship stuff was supposed to work but he had to at least try and say what he meant if he was gonna be with Pomni.
The jester looks at him considerably slowly nodding, processing his words as she registered them gently listening to him. That same 'ol innocent looking face plastered on her.
"….I see…." Pomni tell hims softly, voice full of gentleness as she acknowledged his words. She slightly bit her lip, her eyes focused in front of her which confirmed that she was in deep thought.
He just watched her, a clutter of anxiety ran through his body as he waited there patiently occasionally thumping his foot against the floor as he waited.
A deep silence filled the room as she did, the room felt so heavy and deep. If Jax hadn't had that talk with his boss the day before, he would already be out of this room awkwardly leaving Pomni by herself.
Jax shook his head with a loud huff scolding his inner thoughts.
No! You have to try it with Pom! She deserves that much at least!!!
"I was just thinking how this could be a fresh start for us, we've haven't had the best experience and our introduction to each other wasn't the best. Not to mention the next day you literally threw me out of a moving truck" Pomni spoke out, her tone calm and gentle in a quiet like manner.
"Oh?" Jax asked with surprise, his yellow eyes widened at the suggestion ears slightly shooting up straight.
Now that was a suggestion, hell it's something he wouldn't have ever came up with before. It sound that bad either, they were both at a pretty low point so it made sense for them.
"Really? Even after everything you would start over with me?" He asked her curiously, very hesitant to ask her like it was some kind of joke she was playing with him and use it to humiliate him.
"Yeah why not? Now that we're more familiar with each other and have a bit of a understanding of us it seems appropriate. If you're willing to try, so will I" Pomni says to him gently, her voice full of warmth and consideration.
"Th-Thank you Pom Pom, you won't regret this you can count on that. I'll show exactly how much you mean to me, that we were meant to be partners" He tells her genuinely, for the first time in a long time he didn't feel the need to mask himself. He just wanted to her to know much he cared about her and what he was willing to do to keep that.
"Of course if you decide to shut me out again and snap at me like that again then I don't think I can give it another shot. I mean it Jax, I like you a lot too but I need someone who's gonna stand with me through thick and thin. That no matter what, no matter if we fight, argue, or get mad at the other we'll try to work through it and won't just give up. Meaning you're gonna have to look for yourself too, for my sake" Pomni tells him with a straight forward answer, no funny business or joking around.
Meaning he had one chance to get this right, if he missed this up or threw this chance away his whole confession would have been for nothing and she wouldn't be with him.
No pressure right?
Jax takes in a deep breath before nodding at her with a serious look "Okay that seems fair, I can accept that" He says honestly, ears drooping down at the thought of her leaving him which made his heart sink.
He was for sure gonna make sure he didn't mess this up, he's made plenty of mistakes but he would be damned if he lost his chance with the woman of his dreams.
"Don't you worry Pommers, I'll prove just serious I am just you wait" Jax says with with a wide grin, booping her on the nose playfully causing the jester to chuckle in amusement.
"Oh yeah? Can't wait to see what's in store from you. I doubt that it'll be bothering, you sure know how to light things up" She says with a playful roll of her eyes, a soft giggle escaping from her.
Just you wait Pom Pom just you wait…….
Soon the two of them started to get ready for their "date".
Date….
It was so strange to call it that….after all this time they spent together.
She still wasn't used to that….
She wouldn't have ever imagine she would actually have feelings for that rabbit who seemed to tormented her at every turn.
Yet here she was getting all ready and prettied for this date.
Despite the excitement she could feel for this date she could still feel anxiety bubble up inside her stomach.
She's forgotten the last time she actually went out on a date. It felt slightly surreal that she was going on one after so long.
There was that time in her junior year, a boy in her year took her out to a movie and bought all the snacks to them.
Unfortunately for her since he paid for their date, he got to pick the movie and it was a sci-fi themed movie.
However he wouldn't stop talking during the movie and just kept going on and on about the characters and kept telling her what happened despite the fact she was also watching the movie.
He also tried to kiss her multiple times during the movie and she just didn't feel the connection with him so she awkwardly leaned away.
She never talked to that guy again after that.
She went on a couple of dates after graduation high school but she never had any successful dates.
She didn't spend much time trying to date after that, she didn't bother after those attempts and was so convinced it was a waste of time she was sure she would end up alone.
Who knew ending up in a digital hell proved her wrong on that matter?
Pomni sighs softly as she brushed her black hair, the brush gently stroking through her hair as she carefully brushed it nice and neat.
Jax had said he was gonna make it up to her and she wasn't that cruel to not at least hear him out on that.
She kept feeling a prickling feeling deep inside her gut that was telling her this was a mistake and this was just a trick of his.
She did her best to shove those thoughts of hers away in the back of her mind, she couldn't let those thoughts take over.
Truly her anxiety was telling for a reason, to protect her from a potential harmful prank that the rabbit could have made.
Her heart was telling her another thing.
She had to at least give him a chance, after everything they've been through together.
Otherwise there's no way she would know how this would go, she had to find out for herself even though she was taking a risk here.
She nervously brushed her hair, nearly dropping the brush in the process as she neatly combed through the dark strands.
Once she was done brushing, she took in the sight of herself through the mirror.
This was the most normal she looked in a long time, apart from her white ghostly complexion.
She smiled to herself taking in her appearance, slightly playing with her hair beaming brightly to herself.
She hadn't felt his pretty in a long time.
Jax sat on the couch fiddling with his hands slightly, feet tapping against the floor slightly as he sits quietly.
He felt his anxiety was gonna flood out at any moment as he sat there the only sound being his foot tapping against the floor.
The silence filling the room awkwardly for Jax as he waited for the jester to finish while he waited, dressed in a black button up shirt with blue jeans with black sneakers.
He honest to god had no idea what to wear on a date….
Considering the fact he's never been on one before didn't help either.
He took one look at at inside the closet and just picked what looked the nicest out of the other clothing.
He nervously adjusted his shirt, straightening out his shirt slightly making sure it looked neat as he took a look around the living room.
Huffing out a loud sigh as he waited.
It was a miracle he managed to stay and not chicken out from going on this date.
He was pretty close to convincing himself that this was a mistake and he should leave before he made himself look like a fool in front of the woman of his dreams.
He thankfully was able to get a grip on himself and managed to stay, on one hand if the date went well he and Pomni would have a good time.
On the other maybe he could go crawl in the nearest hole and bury himself inside and convince himself this was just a big dream and never have to face her again.
Jax let out a frustrated sigh, nearly pulling at his ears at the thought.
He knew it was time to stop running away from his problems, start facing them head on no matter what the outcome could be.
He was done running away and just wanted to walk forward, whether it was gonna be good or bad.
His ears slightly perked up at the sound of the bedroom door opening as his eyes immediately darted over to it watching as the jester herself stepped inside the room.
He took in her appearance slowly, he felt like his breath was stolen away as he stared in awe at the pale woman.
He could feel his face get extremely warm just from looking at her.
She stepped out wearing a burgundy red dress that was slightly tight around her figure. It was a simple yet captivating burgundy sleeveless dress that reached to just slight above her thighs. It definitely showed off her snowy short pale legs.
She had some of her hair up as well in a ponytail as she wore some makeup as well slight pink blush around her cheeks with a bit of black eyeshadow and black eyeliner.
She also wore red burgundy slip ons that matched with her dress.
She looked so perfect
….How did he get so lucky???
He shook his head to those thoughts
"W-Wow you um you look nice" Jax says awkwardly, the tips of his ears getting even warmer as he complimented her.
You look nice???! Wow how ORIGINAL Jax??! THAT'S THE BES YOU GOT????
He could hear his inner thoughts scream at him frantically.
"Oh um thanks! You look nice too" Pomni said with a gentle looking smile, her face blooming with a warm look as she gazed at him that soft look.
Huh…maybe I won't screw this up after all
Jax thought to himself optimistically.
"Yeah no problem" He says with a slight nod.
"Umm just a heads up I just threw this on because you refused to tell me what we were doing on this date, so I hope I'm dressed appropriately" The jester says, a twinge of concern in her voice as she looked down at her dress.
"Umm yeah you look great! Don't worry about it" Jax tried to reassure silently cursing in his thoughts about how nervous he felt.
"Still don't know why you couldn't just tell me" Pomni says with a long sigh.
"Well it wouldn't be any FUN if I just gave away what we were doing, you'll just have to see for yourself Pom Pom" Jax retorts teasingly, a slight chuckle escaping from him.
"Okay, do your worst then" Pomni says playfully, an amused smile plastered on her face as she took his challenge.
"Something tells me you're gonna absolutely ENJOY it" Jax says with that same familiar wide amused grin.
Although it was different this time considering this time he was actually taking her to go out and have a good time rather than poking fun at her.
"Okay well I'll be counting on you to make that happen" The jester says with a wink, immediately making his heart flutter at the sight.
Fuck….if she only knew the power she had over him….
"Right anyway you ready?" The rabbit asked ready to get going before his face exploded in warmth.
"Yeah let's get going" Pomni says with a nod as she went ahead of him to leave with him following after him.
They arrived at a nearby movie theater, the smell of popcorn and other variants of food fill the air as they made their way to the ticket booth.
Random NPCs filled the entrance, the line admittedly wasn't that long thankfully.
There was various movie posters posted on the building showing the various showings that were playing in the cinema.
"Wow more movies?" Pomni asked curiously, not that she wad trying to complain but she was slightly surprised he picked out something pretty tame compared to other suggestions he's made in the past.
"Well yeah, that's one thing I think we both like I didn't forget how much you like just to relax and chill most of the time" Jax says, slight teasing in his voice pointing that out to her.
"Oh yeah true…." Pomni says with a nod.
"Don't you worry, I still got something pretty thrilling for later that I think you'll like" Jax says winking at her with a wide shit eating grin.
"Hmm I'll have to be the judge of that, can't wait to see what you have in store" The jester giggles at him, a intrigued glint in her eyes.
"You won't be disappointed, just wait and see" Jax says with a wide grin, sauntering ahead as she follows behind him closely.
As they approached the ticket booth, a mannequin stood there handing out tickets to other npcs.
"What movie should we watch?" The jester asked, staring at the movie posters around them.
"Hmmm…." Jax seemed to hum in thought as she stared at the posters, his black obsidian squared eyes taking in the details of them.
It seemed like Caine had actually tried to make his own movies instead of making parodies of other ones.
There was several to choose from, a couple of action ones, a romantic one, some horror ones, there was several good choices from the posters alone.
"Oooh how about this one?!" Jax says, his voice coming out ecstatically. The rabbit rapidly pointing at a movie poster like a little kid.
That's so adorable
Pomni giggles bubbly, she just couldn't help herself as she received a pouty like look from the rabbit.
The movie posters he had pointed to had a mannequin on it dressed in a space suit holding onto a spaceship with some kind of rope.
"Huh this does look pretty cool" Pomni says with a light smile taking in the poster, her gaze turning over to Jax with a curious look.
"Right? We have to check it out" Jax says with a nod looking at the poster with a very fixated look on his face.
"Mhmm" Pomni agreed as they both turned to their attention to the ticket booth mannequin.
"We'll take two tickets for that space movie" Pomni says to the mannequin while the mannequin nods getting out the tickets as Jax handed it money.
The mannequin nods giving them both their tickets for the movie.
"Enjoy the movie" The mannequin told them as they both make their way the direction of the concession stand.
"Popcorn?" Jax asked her, his head tilting in the direction of the concession stand.
"Yeah for sure!" Pomni nods excitedly, the chance to eat popcorn was heavily on her mind.
"Kay a soda too?" Jax asked her.
"….Maybe but I don't really want a lot of soda right now" Pomni tells him with a shrug.
"No biggie we can just share a soda that way you can still have some" Jax suggested to her as the jester nodded to him.
"Sounds good!" Pomni agreed with a bright smile, a soft giggle escaping from her as Jax went ahead while she waited for him.
It was actually nice to go to the movies again, even thought it wasn't actually the movies but it still felt like one.
She never thought she would be able to go to one again after being stuck in the circus let alone going on a movie date to one……
After her last movie date was a disaster, she felt glad that she could actually experience another movie date especially with a guy she liked a lot.
She wondered if Jax's ever been on any movie dates and how many dates he's been on….
She felt a weird pit in her stomach as she thought about that….
Weird….
She never thought she would feel anything like that, especially for a guy who she's only really gotten to know recently….
Love seemed to work in strange ways
Jax returned with their snacks in tow, popcorn in one hand with their soda to share in the other.
Jax handed her their popcorn "Hot and buttery at your service" Jax says coolly with that familiar wide grin.
"Thanks you are very buttery, I don't know about hot though" Pomni says with a giggle.
"Oh har har I'll have you know I WAS a catch back in the day, er well before being stuck here" Jax says playfully, proudly motioning to himself.
"Whatever you say bunny boy " Pomni rolled her eyes playfully with a tiny giggle. Jax's ears shifted slightly at that, a snort coming from him at her response.
"You'll see Pom Pom, just you wait" He teased at her, brows wiggling at her bringing a flush to her cheeks.
"Yeah yeah so we good for the movie?" She asked the rabbit, both of them making their way now to their theater.
Once they found the right theater for their movie, Pomni saw that the theater had several Npcs in there already thankfully it wasn't packed.
She never did like going to a packed theater, too much went on when it was.
"Ooooh look, got the good seats too" Jax says spotting their seats having seen their seat numbers on the tickets, both of them headed over to their seats with a couple of NPCs already sitting down nearby.
Pomni takes her seat, which Jax sat down right to her as the two took their seats close to each other getting comfortable for the movie.
"I'm glad there isn't a lot of npcs here, makes it easier to focus on the movie" Pomni spoke out admittedly, a small relieve sigh escaping from her.
"Is that so? Not a fan of big crowds?" Jax asked her curiously, his eyes flickering over to her.
"Well yeah but also it just eases me a little especially since my last date at a movie theater didn't go so well" Pomni admits, albeit accidentally not meaning to let that last part slip as she spoke.
"….."
Silence suddenly fell over them causing Pomni to perk up and curiously sneaked a glance at him.
The lavender rabbit looked back at her with a dumbfounded look, his gaze full of daze and genuine shock as he openly stared at her, black pupils fully dilated.
"Uhhh…." Pomni awkwardly spoke out with a tense look.
"YOU mean to tell me that you didn't have a GREAT date at the movies!" Jax slightly exclaims, his ears shooting up straight instantly
"Uhh yeah?" Pomni answered with a nod, eyes half lidded with a awkward look.
"Woah….was the guy that bad?" Jax asked curiously, eyes still deeply dilated a deep frown on his face.
"Yeahhh…the guy keep talking over the movie the whole time I couldn't bother to even keep up with the story and then after the movie he finished he tried to kiss me like three times I had to pull away a lot" Pomni says with a nod, teeth pressed against each other bashfully.
Jax tsked a bit shaking his head listening onto her story with a annoyed look, his squared eyes now small.
"What a loser…..you deserved a better date than what that pathetic guy offered" Jax says with a scoff shaking his head.
"It wasn't the BEST first date….but it definitely opened my eyes on the dating world for sure" Pomni says with a long sigh.
"Well….look on the bright side, you get to experience an actual date with me" Jax says gleefully with a brightened look.
Pomni pauses, her pinwheel eyes staring at him slightly in awe at him, before letting out a soft and amused giggle a smile pulling on her face.
"I guess so….I mean it's already been fun so far" She tells him gently, a soft look on her face as she spoke to him.
"Oh um…well I'm glad you think so" He told her awkwardly his words coming out slightly rushed ears dropping down as a red hue came to his face.
He's so adorable
She thought to herself dreamily with a slightly dazed expression.
The lights suddenly started to go out as the movie began, the massive projector screen in front of them lighting up and beginning to play.
"It's starting" She told him ecstatically, kicking her legs a bit as she grins widely.
Both of them sits back getting comfortable for the movie that was about to start, both of them next to each other as Pomni laid her hand on the seat's armrest gently.
She could suddenly feel Jax's own arm close to hers, his arm next to her.
As the movie started they started pay attention to the opening, both of them enthralled in the movie as she could feel Jax sneakily move his gloved hand over hers.
Their hands were joined together, yet Pomni didn't shy away or question it she just let her hand be covered in his.
It sent a warm feeling into her.
The movie itself was incredible, the scenes were very immersive and very intriguing. It felt like they were in the movies, like they were on their own personal space adventure.
It was very fun to watch especially with the main character who went by Ryan Brace. The scientist who was stuck in space with no way back and who's main objective was to save the galaxy.
His companion which was a being made of any minerals and stone put together yet had high intelligence played a major part here.
Both of them tried to figure out a way to save their galaxies despite their lives being on the line.
It was an amazing experience, Jax and her sat through the whole movie barely exchanging any words throughout the movie. Their eyes glued on the screen intensely while they watched it.
They barely went through their snacks with how invested they were in the movie itself, Pomni took a couple of sips from his drink as Jax snagged some of her popcorn.
Pomni couldn't remember the last time she cried at a movie, tears pooled at her pinwheel eyes threatening to spill at a certain scene.
Her breath slightly shaky, shoulders tensed and her frame shuddering, taking in the scene helplessly with an gasp being pulled from her.
Jax fared no better than her, his whole body tensed and slightly frozen in place. His yellow gloved hand squeezing the shit out of her hand, yet she still held onto his hold not pulling away.
His whole face look intense, pupils wide and fearful yet no noises escaped from his mouth as the scene played.
Pomni's felt her face frown deeply at the sight, taking her hand to gently caress his own softly. He immediately jumped slightly at the contact, but didn't pull away rather he stayed in her touch welcoming it.
His expression softened instantly, he took a deep breath his eyes darting over to her with a slight smile. He eases up in her touch taking a deep breath.
Pomni gave him a gentle look, a smile also tugging at her own mouth. Her eyes returned at the scene in front of them which played out dramatically.
They both sat there once again in silence taking the scene in as the main character was saved miraculously.
Both of them took a sigh of relief at that as did the rest of the audience it seemed.
The rest of the movie went smoothly from that point, no high risk and high danger being present only the leading up to the end and the ending itself.
Yet for some reason it had caused Pomni to almost cry again. This time though Jax caressed her own hand with his. She welcomed his touch eagerly, leaning in his gentle touch.
They stayed like that for a while as the movie ended until the credits started to roll, the two of them taking their leave.
Exiting through the theater doors making their way back to the main hall, walking with each other slightly in sync.
"Soooo uh that was a movie" Pomni says, a slight smile on her face.
"Yeah it was, Caine can actually make a good movie who would've guessed?" Jax jested with a snort.
"Yeah, I definitely enjoyed it for sure" Pomni admits with a smile.
"….I think you still got something in your eye" Jax teased at her.
Pomni turns over to him with a playful look "Maybe I do, so do you though" She chuckles at the rabbit with a teasing look, a slight smirk tugging at her mouth.
Jax's eyes shrunk down in size at that before he let out a slight chuckle "Don't what you're talking about Pom Pom" The rabbit tried playing dumb, which wasn't gonna work on her.
"Really? Could have sworn I saw you shedding a few tears throughout the movie " Pomni tells him, an teasing tone in her voice.
The jester barely glances in his direction but she could tell just from a single glance the rabbit went right and still. His face now covered in a slight red flush, his eyes slightly dilated as he stared at her.
"I umm…uh…that's" Jax stumbled through his words.
"Jax…." Pomni gently mutters to him, her voice becoming delicate as silk as she spoke.
The rabbit kept looking at him, his expression more relaxed now as she spoke his name.
"You don't have to pretend with me okay? You think I'm gonna judge you based on a emotional scene on a fictional movie?" Pomni asked him, her own colorful kaldeoscope eyes peering into his own dark squared eyes.
Jax breathed slightly, inhaling through his mouth slightly as he processed her words deeply before looking at her with an equally gentle look.
He nodded "Okay" He says simply, seeming to accept her words without any trouble.
She beamed at him delicately before giggling "Hey that movie got us both didn't it" Pomni responded with a hearty chuckle, attempting to lighten up the mood.
"Yeah I guess so….I'll give Caine that" Jax snickered, a smile pulling on his mouth.
"Yeah….I really liked it" Pomni responded to him.
"Good I'm glad you did" Jax says, a wide smile on his face as he tells her.
"Yeah, what you got next?" The jester probed at the rabbit.
"Hmm a little something you'll have to see for yourself Pom Pom" He winks at her.
"It's not life threatening is it?" She asked in amusement, half joking.
"Nah but it's gonna give you some kind of adrenaline" Jax answered her.
"Ahh I see" Pomni fidget nervously yet excitedly.
"Yeah, but we are gonna have to walk over there instead of driving" He told her vaguely.
"Huh?…."
She would find out what he meant by that pretty quickly, both of them arrived at a bicycling shop.
Jax partically dragged her inside, both of them had taken a look inside at the different kinds of bicycles inside the shop.
Jax's eyes seem to have landed on a white two person bike which could be rode by two people simultaneously, it was pretty rare to see one of these.
"What about this?" Jax suggested, pointing over to the bike staring at it with a giddy look.
"That? Uh is that a good idea?" She asked him unsurely, nervous taking a glance over to him her eyes flickering slightly.
"Of course! Why not? Don't tell you're scarred Pom Pom" The rabbit chuckles at her with half lidded eyes.
"N-No it's just been a while since I rode a bike last" Pomni admits slightly sheepishly with an awkward giggle, rubbing the back of her head.
"Ah so that's it, you don't have to be nervous Pom it's been a while for me too Y'know" Jax tried to reassure her, the tone of his voice became more soft.
"Uh yeah but-" Pomni tried to say before being cut off by his scoff.
"Hey we're here to have fun right? So stop your worrying and let loose okay? We don't have to play by the 'rules' and just go with the flow. What do you say?" Jax says offering a hand to her, a grin stretching across his face.
Pomni's pinwheel eyes flickered over to his hand before taking a deep breath, calming her nerves before an relaxed smile blossomed across her face.
"Okay" She says simply, nodding to him taking his hand.
Jax's grin widened even more at that pumping his hand up as a small victory.
Pomni found herself giggling at the act, her smile slightly crooked highly amused at his actions.
She felt herself ease up at his silliness, a bright smile shifted on her face.
He didn't seem worried in the slightest, so why should she? What could possibly go wrong?
Apparently a lot could go wrong
Pomni yelps out as they nearly collided with a traffic cone, screaming in fear as they traversed around the streets racing along it.
Her vision was slightly blocked by Jax, the rabbit sat in front of her taking the lead in their bicycle ride while she was sat behind him pedaling along with him.
Jax had insisted to let him to take the lead, something about making it more 'exciting'.
Clearly that was a mistake…..
Pomni's screams of terror were slightly halted as Jax made a sharp turn, avoiding a car as they speeded past it both of them pedaling to the max
"Aw c'mon Pom Pom its not that bad!" Jax tells her mischievously with a snicker, somehow not losing his shit through this whole altercation.
"You're gonna kill us!!!" The jester shrieked in terror, gripping on the handlebars with desperation.
"We can't die remember! Although if we did crash we would feel it " Jax called out casually with a snicker, pedaling in sync with her as they wheeled by a neighborhood casually glided by other cars.
"That doesn't help feel better at all!" Pomni shouts with a fearful cry, hurriedly pedaling.
"Chillax Pom Pom, we're almost there!" The rabbit tells her in a shout moving swiftly around the cars nearby.
"CAN YOU AT LEAST SLOW DOWN??!!" Pomni cried out in alarm, biting the inside of her cheek still gripping onto the handlebars like they were her last lifeline.
"Hmmm….." Jax seemed to ponder, seriously in thought.
"….Nah" He says with a chuckle.
"Gahhhhh!" Pomni yelled fearfully, desperately trying to peddle to give them a boost.
Jax chuckled loudly at her yelling "You're so dramatic Pom Pom" The rabbit gleefully spoke.
SHE WAS GONNA KILL THOSE DAMN RABBIT!!!
"JAX IM GONNA STRANGLE YOU WHEN THIS IS OVER!!!" The jester shrieked out with a horrified look, gritting her teeth in fury.
"Hey don't threaten me with a good time Pom Pom" Jax snickers out, causing her to nearly scream out in frustration.
They breezed through the street smoothly, gliding across the road swiftly. Managing to stay clear of any cars or any objects that could blocked their path.
Suddenly a dog came out of nowhere, blocking the middle of the road causing Pomni to scream in horror.
"J-JAX THERE'S A DOG IN FRONT OF US" Pomni hollered in fear, trying to keep her cool.
Jax quickly made a sharp turn, quickly turning in time to avoid contact with the dog and sped past it smoothly and strategically.
They both zipped past it instantly, continuing their way to their destination, Pomni let out a massive sigh of relief wanting nothing more than to stop peddling and rest after that horrendous event.
"Can we stop now?….." Pomni groaned out with a another sigh still peddling with him in sync.
"We're almost there Pom Pom" Jax reassured her, their speed slowing down and less frantic and more clam now.
Pomni takes a deep breath trying to keep her breathing under control.
"Thank god….I'm about to faint from terror" Pomni thought to herself with a sigh as they cycled to their destination as Pomni pushed more to peddle.
It was certain to say that they both made it one peace thankfully, although Pomni was still nauseous even after they had stopped and made it to their destination.
The aftermath of adrenaline hit her like a ton of bricks, her stomach was twisting in itself and she desperately needed to sit down after that rush of excitement.
Pomni bent over slightly trying to get ahold of her senses, gasping a bit as she tried to catch her breath with a deep inhale and exhaling sharply.
Jax casually sauntered up to her, having already put the bike up and put up nearby.
That rabbit already took the liberty of having their table get ready.
Both of them stood in front the restaurant close to the entrance, standing just in front of the stone stairs in front ahead of them that lead to the restaurant. A vast water fountain behind them, some droplets from the sprouting fountain slightly sprayed them. It was a refreshing feeling, especially from that exhilarating bike ride.
Jax approached her cautiously, gently putting an hand on her shoulder causing her so slightly flinch before calming once she realized it was him.
"You okay there Pom Pom?" The rabbit asked the jester, a worried look on his face.
Pomni breaths deeply, a sigh of relieve escaping from her "Yeah don't worry, I'm fine thanks for asking though."
Jax nods silently, eyes full of worry staring her down his mouth flat.
"I guess biking was a mistake" He responded with a small huff, his eyes hardened slightly with a slight frown sprouting on his face.
"Uh oh I don't know about that, I mean it was fun and all, maybe not the best for me considering I hadn't biked in a while but it wasn't THAT horrible" She says in response, blinking unexpectedly at his reaction. It was a complete 180 from the way he was acting previously on the bike ride.
"Yeah but you got almost scared to death and I thought it could be a fun thing for us to do. I didn't think it was gonna be that risky, I mean what kind of adventure just puts a dog in front of the road like that?" Jax asked her, his voice grumbled and became slightly higher pitched.
"I don't know? The same ones made by an AI that can put you in literally in H#*@?" She questioned, motioning with her hands.
"Hmmm….touché" The rabbit responded with a shrug.
"I don't mind in the slightest, it was pretty fun well up until we almost crashed into that dog" Pomni told him, a soft smile spread across her face.
"You mean that?" Jax asked her.
"Well yeah, it was really scary and absolutely horrifying don't get me wrong but I still had a lot of fun. On the plus side you also managed not to crash anything too which made it even more enjoyable for me. I really appreciate the effort you're putting to this, I know it's not easy with the umm digital world we're stuck inside but I can tell you're trying your best" Pomni voiced to him with reassurance, her hand gently caressing his arm as she looks into his eye with so much gentleness.
He swallowed slightly and stiffened at her words, freezing at her words like he was processing her words before a soft smile bloomed on his face as well.
Such a tender and affectionate smile spreaded on his face, his pupils extremely dilated while he listened to her and she could even see the bunny boy's tail was wagging rapidly. There was no doubt the rabbit was pleased by her words and for a second she could have sworn she could hear the slight sound a soft clicking noises coming from him, catching her off guard.
Is he actually chittering right now???
No way…..
Pomni almost burst out laughing, holding herself back from doing so but still had an extremely amused look on her face.
It would be pretty cruel to laugh at him while he was like this, but it was hard to hold back from laughing.
She wasn't that heartless though
Jax seemed to snap out of what trance he was in and looked at her up and down, his eyes shrinking down.
"What's so funny?" The rabbit slightly demanded, his eyebrow raised.
"Your tail was wagging"
"I-It was?!" The rabbit exclaimed, eyes wide of disbelief. His eyes flickered over to his tail with a huff, letting out a loud groan.
"I think it's cute" She tells him, a giggle slipping out.
"Oh har har I'm sure you do" Jax sighs out.
"C'mon it's not that bad, it could be worse" Pomni snorted at him.
Jax scoffs out shaking his head "Yeah what's worst than having stupid rabbit like traits?" He challenged with a huff.
"Hmm being a rabbit completely with no human characteristics?" She stated with a shrug.
"….Touché" Jax replied with a sigh in defeat.
"Besides I don't see it as a bad thing, it's just one more thing I love about you" Pomni responded with a soft giggle.
"Oh uh thanks" Jax tells her, voice sounding unsure and hesitant.
Pomni just smiled brightly at him, her smile full of warmth and kindness.
She could a red hue come to the rabbit's face, before she could comment on it the rabbit shook it off turning around facing the restaurant.
"C'mon I think our table is ready now, don't want them thinking we ghosted them or anything" He tells her, his familiar wide grin returning to his face.
Oh yeah they were still on a date
"Mhmm good cause I'm getting hungry " Pomni replied with a nod, her stomach aching with hunger. God she did not miss feeling hungry, especially when the delivery aroma of food could be smelled from where they stood.
"Yeah c'mon let's get some food" He nods in agreement.
They both stepped into the restaurant, as the delicious scent of food surrounded them welcoming them both in their savory and inviting scent.
As soon they both stepped inside the restaurant, the amazing scent of food filled the entire restaurant. It made Jax's mouth water at the savoring scene that filled inside.
"That smells amazing" Pomni stated with an equally hungry look on her face, she drooled just a tiny bit from the smell alone.
Who could blame her?
Just as they stepped inside a mannequin eagerly approached them at the waiting area.
"Helllooooo! Your table is ready, this way!" The waiter says, leading them across the room to their table as two followed after him.
Having a look a look around Jax noticed several NPCs Caine decided to reuse for this adventure.
The princess from the candy kingdom was among them, sitting with the gator from the Candy Kingdom adventure.
There was also the ghost woman from the Mildenhall Manor adventure sitting with a smaller ghost, the one he remembered sucking up that one time.
Even Caine's more popular mannequins was there including Ming and Disapearing guy, the two of them sitting across from each other.
His eyes flickered around seeing the many wooden tables spreads out across the restaurant with so many NPCs filling so many spots.
Jeez if he knew it was gonna be this crowded he would have just opted to stay at home with Pomni, at least they could have had some damn peace and quiet.
Before he could suggest that idea, they were quickly placed at a table on the far end of the restaurant where there wasn't too many people compared to the entrance.
They sat down in the seats, the mannequin quick to hand them the menus before taking their drinks orders. For Pomni she wanted a sweet tea and Jax a obvious off brand soda.
They both took a look at their menu's, both of their eyes widened seemingly simultaneously at the choices they had which seemed completely random.
"Uhhh that's not a normal hamburger" Pomni comments, taking in the image of a massive hamburger.
"Yeah that's a Mt.Hamburger right there" Jax joked, his slightly lidded in amusement.
Pomni rolled her eyes playfully at his joke, a slight snicker escaping from her.
"Mac n cheese with Jello? What kinda madness is this?!" Jax says out loud , a loud huff escaping from his before he burst out laughing.
"WHAATTT?" Pomni says, a sharp gasp tearing from her before she slightly cackled from how ridiculous that sounded.
"Oh no what ever shall I do, I guess I have no choice as a man n cheese lover. Guess we're just gonna have to suffer from this cheesy and jelly like atrocity" Jax told her with a playful wink, his grin wide and humored with a puff of air coursing through him.
Pomni laughs even harder, slightly slamming her fist against the table her chest heaving deeply from much she was laughing. She nearly shed a tear from how much laughter she went through.
"Yeah….or the fried fish inside a ice cream sandwich? Oooh that sounds very appetizing" Pomni says, reading out the menu choice from the menu.
Jax buckled over, almost falling out his seat as he wheezed out with laughter. Gripping the table like his life depended on it, snorting out as he let out a deep rumble of laughter.
"Oh my pffffff….." The rabbit wheezed out in entertainment, hugging his gut as his legs kicked around. He just couldn't contain himself from overly amusing situation they were in.
Pomni chucked at his reaction, a genuine smile appearing on face while she looked at him with those same thoughtful and adorable red and blue pinwheel eyes.
Once he calmed down, he was breathing deeply relaxing after all that laughter. A slight pained groan escaping from him with how much he laughed, he couldn't even remember the last time he laughed that hard. It felt like he literally would have busted his gut.
"Are you trying to kill me Poms? Jeez warn a guy will you?" He says, still slightly chucking a bit alebeit painfully before flashing her with a large amused grin.
"Oh of course not? Why would I even think of doing such a thing? I mean what would I do without you" The jester says, a snort coming from her.
"Oh har har yeah I mean you would be lost without me, can't imagine living in a Jaxless world right?" He flashed her a smooth and sly smile, sending her a wink.
Pomni shakes her head playfully "Oh no whatever would I do? I guess I'll just have no choice but to deal with your jokes and 'charisma' forever"
"Hey it won't be THAT bad, I'm sure you'll find a way to survive" He tells her smoothly with a snort, causing the jester to roll her eyes jokingly.
"Yeah yeah I guess" She tells him, a long dramatic sigh escaping from her before she smiles warmly at him.
"But seriously do they have anything we can actually eat without throwing up?" Jax questioned looking through the menu, trying to find something edible for them to eat.
"Hmmm….." Pomni pondered, searching through the menu for something edible.
Something caught the jester's eye however.
"Umm they have Salmon with a salad on the side with some shrimp" Pomni informed him with a gentle smile, showing him on the menu.
His eyes looked over to the menu but just shrugged, he's never been a big fan of seafood and he honestly wasn't sure why but he just wasn't as big about compared to other food.
"Nah you can order if ya want, I'll pass on it though" Jax says with a shake of his head, continuing to search through the menu.
"Ah okay, not a fan of seafood I take it?" She asked him curiously, a slightly concerned look on her face.
"Ehhh not really never been a big fan of it" He says simply to her with a shrug.
"Oh I see" She says with a nod.
"I mean I used to kinda like it, that was before I went to my cousin's one day and he fried some fish that day. One of my biggest mistakes that I've ever made since that night that I ate it I got so sick and had to throw up two times after that" He tells her with a scoff, somehow still irritable just from talking about it.
"Oh I see"
"Yeah so not big on ordering anything seafood related for that reason"
"Makes sense" Pomni nodded at him, a look of understanding on her face.
Jax continued to search through the menu for something before someone caught his eye "Hmm mystery pizza….try one of our pizza pies with mystery toppings it'll be a surprise that knock your socks off….okay? I guess I'll be having that" Jax says with a shrug, making his mind up what he wanted.
"You're a pizza fan?" Pomni asked him.
"Yeah….back before all this I used to order pizza after working a lot of the times. Not sure how I didn't get sick of eating it, but it was one the things I looked forward to when I used to have a job and responsibilities and stuff" Jax told her, a fond smile flashing on his face as he remembered the good 'ol days.
Pomni nods listening to him.
"I was more of a spaghetti fan, it was one of the few dishes I actually learned to make for myself when I was younger" Jax told her, for once in his life he didn't feel so afraid to tell her something about him.
"Oh….that's a good meal, I like Spaghetti too" She says, a genuine smile on her face.
"Yeah, it's a simple recipe not too hard to make but I enjoyed making it a lot before…all of this" Jax motioned with his finger.
"Yeah….maybe you can make us some day" Pomni suggested.
"Yeah, and who knows maybe we can try to recreate that one scene with the dogs Y'know the one right? Two dogs at a restaurant, sharing a meal together eating spaghetti together made by a restaurant owner who sing to them and they both slurp up the spaghetti and accidentally share a kiss?" Jax suggested with a wide teasing grin, his eyes slightly half lidded to her.
"Oh really? Wow didn't take you for the romantic type" Pomni giggles, a wide smile spreading across her face.
"Hey there's a couple of stuff you still don't know about me, I can be romantic when I want" He winked at her, causing the jester to perk up slightly.
A pink blush appearing on her cheeks slightly, her eyes widened at the unexpected action.
So damn cute, sometimes it was just too easy to get her flustered like this
"Uhh only when you want" She tells him, a playful huff escaping from her rolling her eyes dramatically.
"Hey I set up this date didn't I? I haven't totally failed yet right?" Jax asked her with that wide shit eating grin.
"Hmm I dunno we still have a bit of time left" She says, teasing flowing in her voice as she shrugs.
"Well hey from the way you looked earlier I'd say you're having the time of your life"
"I guess so, even though we almost got killed getting here" Pomni sighs out.
"Aw c'mon I thought you said it wasn't that bad" Jax tells her motioning over to her.
"I mean it wasn't, that doesn't mean I wasn't completely scared out of mind still" She countered him.
"Okay okay fine you win that won, but trust me the rest of our evening won't be as bad as that mark my words" He stated with a proud and smug look.
"Not like I have a choice I'm not trusting you" Pomni tells him casually with a slight sigh.
Before he could respond the waiter quickly came back, picked up their menus and taking their orders and giving them their drinks.
They gave the mannequin their order before it nodded and walked away.
They waited there for a while, talking a little bit while they did. They talked about some of the previous adventures Jax used to be in with some of theirs other before Pomni's time there.
He for some reason had no trouble breezing by the conversation about it, he never thought he would be able to open up and actually TELL someone about previous adventures like this.
Yet here they were.
Pomni seemed to get a laugh out of the one where they were turned into dogs that one time and had to escape from a pet show.
Or that one where they were in a cart racing adventure and had to avoid being cooked by a giant chef the entire time.
That one was definitely more terrifying but sounded funny when it was explained that it was possible to have a level inside someone's stomach.
Jax shuddered at the thought.
Just as he was finished talking about it, their food was ready and was served to them. The mannequin waiter arrived with their food, putting their plates in front of them.
Jax took a peak as Pomni's food which surprisingly looked appealing.
Jax took a look at his own food, his pizza came with pepperoni, sausage, and…..
Pineapple?
Okay not his favorite topping but he could deal with it.
He took a bite out of his pizza, humming at the taste.
"Mm not bad" he commented, he could Pomni nod in agreement.
"Yeah it's good, thankfully" She says with a nod.
"Yeah, I definitely thought they would have put something in our food or something" Jax says, taking a closer look at his food.
"It tastes normal to me, at least from the last time I tasted salmon"Pomni says, forking up another piece of salmon into her mouth.
"I don't know, It's hard to tell at times with these adventures" Jax shrugged at her.
"I'm just glad we can eat like normal here instead of some bizarre situation happening" Pomni uttered, a sigh of relief escaping from her mouth.
"Yeah I hear you, as fun as it can be I think I hit my limit with some of them" Jax muttered with a nod.
"Yeah….Pomni agreed with him.
They shared a glance with each other, before Pomni quickly turned her attention back to her food as if she was trying to avoid his eyes.
"Is there something wrong?" He asked her out of concern, a frown being pulled on his face.
"Well umm I was gonna umm well" Pomni stuttered out, her word twisting around before Jax's face stopped her.
"Just tell me, we've already shared enough with each other I'm sure you're not gonna scare me off with whatever you gotta say" Jax says with a deep sigh, his heart slightly racing.
"Okay um well….what was Ribbit like?" Pomni asked him, at that moment he felt his world shatter and he felt the icy feeling freeze up in his veins.
Fuck….
He knew she was gonna pop up in a situation like this sooner or later, but it was surreal hearing her utter that name.
"Oh I'm you don't have to tell me anything, I was just curious. I've heard how close you two were and was just wondering-" She continues before getting interrupted by him.
"It's fine"
She looked at him with surprise before nodding, staying quiet as she listened to him.
"She was….my actual first friend here. The only one at the time who I thought got me or understood me on some level. Before well….Y'know" The rabbit says trailing off as the jester nods at him.
"She was one of the few people I could trust at the time, sometimes with Kaufmo too but it was mostly her….she made me feel safe" Jax says to her.
"She always had this twinkling look in her eye like she had this kind of spark within her. She would talk about how living in this circus wasn't so bad and being stuck with the rest of us wasn't entirely a bad fate" He continued, the jester listening carefully to his words.
"But one day…I was being so dumb…I got into it with her and Kaufmo….I tried to dismiss our bond and said it didn't mean anything to me kinda how I talked to you" Jax admitted looking away, afraid to even look at her in the face.
"Before I knew it…..she started to abstract because of what I said….because I said nothing ever mattered and we had nothing. It was my fault that she abstracted…." He uttered to her, voice small and weak.
"From that day one Kaufmo hated my guts, not that I could blame him meanwhile everyone else sorta kept their distance from me. I guess at the time I couldn't even comprehend how much she meant to me. If I'd just communicated with her maybe she could still be here, maybe she could still be laughing here with us, and maybe she wouldn't have abstracted thinking so hated her when I didn't" He tells her, voice solemn and even more quiet.
"Maybe we could have even dated or be partners or something, but I'll never know now. I just screw everything up, I don't wanna be like this. I just end up messing everything up, Rags was actually right about something" He muttered out with a bitter huff.
"Don't say that" Pomni told him.
"I uhhh" He tried to speak before being interrupted by him.
"You can't go and just blame yourself like that. I understand you're upset and you're allowed to be, but it won't do you any good to constantly blame yourself. Instead of blaming yourself and sabotaging your life, you can't be scared of new things and of people. You're human, not just a cartoon character" Pomni tells him.
"You've got a heart just like the rest of us and I know you don't like to hurt anyone and hate being hurt even more. But the only way you can avoid that is taking that risk, if you don't open up and can't be honest you'll never find out. Isn't it better to try and find out instead of hiding yourself forever?" She asked him, raising an eyebrow.
"Umm well" He says, being cut off by her again.
"You can thought if you just open up, what more do have to be afraid of? I'm not going anywhere and neither is anyone else you hear me??! We're not leaving you anytime soon, you'll have to try even harder to get rid of us" She says, sounding so full of determination and hope.
He could barely believe his eyes….
"Why though? Why even spare a minute on a waste of space like me?" He asked her
"Because you're not the huge villain you make yourself out to be, but rather a human. You can make all kinds of mistakes Jax but that doesn't mean you can't learn from them. Despite all your faults and flaws I love you Jax, and I'm not letting you go anytime soon you hear me?!" She says determined, looking at him straight in his eyes.
At that moment Jax could feel his heart melt and almost collapse in sheer joy, the fact this woman wouldn't ever leave him and just told him she loved him.
God he loved this woman.
Before he could do anything else, she grabs at his collar and kissed him him deeply on the mouth as their mouths connected both of them sharing a tender and passionate kiss. Jax hums blissfully as he returned it easterly with a loving sigh, he's never felt his kind of feeling it was amazing.
They pulled both slightly breathless as they were both a blushing mess, both red in face as they stared at each other before Jax grins at her.
"Well I'm definitely not letting go of you now, you've done it now Pom Pom I refuse to let go now" He grins at her.
She grins back at him "Good, neither am I" She says full of confidence.
From that point on, they both agreed to never leave each other's side. One thing that they completely were against in first place and now they couldn't beat the idea of being separated now.
Eventually they both left the restaurant, having paid for their dinner after finishing their meal. Having both eaten their whole fill, the two could barely walk after having such a satisfying meal. Both staggering through the door, barely getting to move through the exit.
The both biked their two person bike back to the bicycle shop, the ride back was rather peaceful and calm. The twinkling stars shined across the sky, illuminating the nightly dressed sky. The moonlight shining across them in the darkness, street lights slightly brightening the streets.
It was quiet relaxing, the nightly breeze draft around them under the crescent moon. The cloudless night gave them more light from the moon to see during the night, not to mention the brief lights from the street lights.
They made to back to the bicycle shop pretty quick, returning the bike back to the shop mannequin before they returned back home.
On the drive back home they were pretty quiet, occasionally stealing glances at each other. It felt rather strange with how quiet it got out of a sudden, especially with how much they were conversing during dinner.
The brightness of the street lights blurred the windows slightly, shining against the glass. The light from them glared inside the car, giving Pomni enough light to see how Jax was holding the wheel.
He seemed more careful and cautious, having a firm grip on the wheel. Slightly turning it in his gloved hands as the car cruises by other cars smoothly.
Who knew he could such a safe driver?! She wouldn't have ever guessed, the same guy who was ramming a truck against another truck and threw her out of said moving truck.
She wouldn't have ever guessed that.
Jax's gaze stayed entirely on the road, he paid close attention to the road ahead barely taking his eyes off it. Minus for when he needed to look beside him, or take a glance at her. He seemed really serious when he told her he would be more careful when they left, something she deeply appreciated about him.
Soon enough the two arrived back at the house, exiting the car and shutting the door behind them. They finally arrived back home inside their designated house.
The final day has gotten by so fast it seemed like, completely unlike the other days of this week.
As soon as they stepped inside, Pomni was quick to take her shoes off not a fan of the ones she decided to wear for the date. She let out a sigh of relief at the feeling of her feet feeling free, while Jax did the same and unbuttoned a few buttons from his shirt.
"Today was really nice but I'm so glad to take off these shoes" A relaxed breath escaped from her.
"Why didn't you just ditch the shoes then? It's not like you'll get in trouble for showing your feet" He chuckled, a wide amused grin on his face.
"Because I have more decency than that, I don't wanna people to stare at my shoes" She retorted to him.
"They're just npcs you know, I doubt it would be in their code to get weirded out by small feet"
"S-Still, I don't want them looking at my feet that's just weird!" She exclaimed in embarrassment.
"You're just making it weird, those Npcs probably probably seen weirder."
"That doesn't make me feel any better" Pomni squints at him.
"Well darn, guess I'm failing then" He mused.
"Besides I don't want my feet being all dirty I don't even know how you manage without shoes normally" Pomni says, an eyebrow raised.
"You get used to it, besides it feels more free for my feet" Jax casually said.
"Rightttt" Pomni says.
"Well I guess you won't have to worry about that, we should be going back to the circus after this" She told him, thinking about the fact it was their final day.
….."What if we don't? What if we stay stuck in here? Like we don't do well enough? What if we can't leave this adventure for a long time?" Jax asked, his black squares eyes shrinking at the thought.
"Then we just stay and stay as long as we have too, keep on trying until we can go back" Pomni suggested, her mouth in a firm line.
"But you would be stuck here with me too, you wouldn't be able to leave. I know I screwed up this adventure and it's my fault that you can't leave but we could probably ask Caine if you can-" The rabbit says before being cut off by her.
"No" She said simply and straight.
"Wait….what do you mean? You wouldn't leave at the first chance, not even when I mess things up?" He asked her.
"No, I told you I was gonna stay with you and I meant it. No matter what, you'll have to try harder to get rid of me" She stated, her eyes gazing at him with so much intensity pinning him underneath her gaze.
The rabbit stumbled back, shaking slightly in worry and fear before shaking his head.
"That doesn't sound fair, being stuck with me" He tells her, sounding defeated like he already knew she made up her mind.
"And it wouldn't be fair to me if I just left you here on your own, we're partners regardless and I'm not gonna leave you alone again" Pomni says with determination, her eyes gazing into his with so much love and gentleness.
He looks at her speechless for once, having no words whatsoever but just a single look of awe on his face.
"Even after everything I've done?" He asked her, eyes full of disbelief
"Yes, even after that I won't leave. Not now, not ever, you're stuck with me" She tells him, her face closing in to his studying his face.
He looked just slightly shocked, ears standing up straight at attention. He was completely speechless and still, like he was frozen in place at her own words.
She beckoned to him, her face in front of his as she stared at him with so much love and gentleness.
"Even if I was stuck with you forever, there's nowhere I would rather be. I love you Jax" She says before moving her head to his, crushing her lips on his kissing him lovingly gathering a surprised gasp from the rabbit.
They both just stayed there and kissed, holding onto each other closely as if they were afraid to let go of the other. Pomni held onto his shoulders while Jax placed his hands around her waist delicately.
They enjoyed each other's embrace as they kissed before eventually pulling away to catch their breaths. Both flushed and slightly breathless, gazing into each other's eyes with so much adoration.
"I love you too Pom Pom, like you wouldn't believe" He told her softly, his eyes gentle and loving.
They embraced each other closely, holding onto each other warmly as they felt like they never wanted to let go and stay there together.
They could stay like that forever as long as they were in each others arms.
As they embraced a sudden bright light flashed around them, the view of the house disappeared from their sight as the sight of a office came into view.
A very familiar pair of teeth came into view, like he was expecting them at that exact moment.
"Well well well it's my married superstars! I see the married life has been treating you well!" The pair of teeth muttered with a chuckle. Examining the two holding onto each other.
The two slightly pulled away from each other and looked at Caine in surprise, after having been away for seven days it felt slightly surreal to see him.
"Oh hahaha yeah you WOULD think so after forcing us on that wouldn't you?" The rabbit retorted him with an unimpressed look.
"Well hey I just thought you too could use the time to get along and be pals! That's not so wrong is it?" Caine innocently said, fiddling his hands like a child that was in trouble.
"I mean I would have preferred you didn't send us on a weeks long adventure with crazy stuff happening and forcing that us out of nowhere" Pomni says with a slight scoff.
"Maybeeee but look where it got you both! You're both happy with each other closer to each other than ever!" Caine says with excitement with a pleased expression.
"…." They both couldn't argue with him on that, they knew he wasn't necessarily wrong but even so…..
"Well yeah but you didn't have to force us on that adventure still" Pomni retorted with a sigh.
"Well well let's stop thinking about What Ifs and finally get a grade on both of you" The pair of teeth continued on.
Pomni froze up with a nervous look, sharing a look with Jax as he looked at her with the same amount of nervousness before they both looked at the ringmaster waiting for their grade with anticipation.
"….And the grade you got is….." The pair of teeth says, purposefully trying to keep them on their toes.
"An A Plus! Way to go my funny bunnies!" Caine called out with a excited cheer, causing them both to look at him in shock.
"An A plus really?"
"We both didn't fail that…uh how?"
"We actually passed that"
They both asked in clear confusion.
"Well yes you completed most of your objectives, did the housework, did the job work, got into a lover's spat, made up, and went on a romantic date! I'd say that qualifies as a perfect score!" Caine ecstatically answers causing them to look at him in total confusion.
So that was it? It was that easy?
"Even when I refused to do the housework and we both argued? We still passed?!" Pomni asked in surprise.
"Well yes, it's apart of being married of course everyone knows that! That's what sitcoms have taught me at least! If would've been even weirder if you didn't!" Caine says to them with a chuckle.
"Okayyyy so does that mean we're good then?" Pomni asked him, motioning to the door.
"Oh yeah I know how excited you both are to return to normal things! You're free to go!" The pair of teeth says with a nod.
"Okay" Pomni says starting to walk off before Jax interrupts.
"Hey before that! I have one request" Jax utters to Caine, catching him off guard.
"Yes Jax?"
Pomni watched curiously, eyes large and wide as she listens.
The two exited the door after several minutes, ready to be on their way back to the circus.
"Well I'll definitely won't forget that adventure ever" Pomni chuckles, a relaxed and tender smile on her face.
"Yeah same here " Jax replied to her.
"Y'know as strange as it sounds I'm glad so got to be stuck with you" He admits to her, a wide and tender smile stretched across his face.
"Me too" Pomni replied back to him.
"So does this mean I still have to go through with that bet?" Pomni asked remembering their previous bet about her having to be rude to Ragatha.
Jax pondered deeply as something came to him before he sighed deeply "No I guess, I hate to say it but if it wasn't for that pair I f teeth and the rag doll we probably wouldn't have come to our senses" He told her.
"Our?" Pomni asked a with a chuckle.
Jax groans "Fineeee I wouldn't have"
"That's what I thought" Pomni chuckles at him.
"Hey you love it" Jax teased at her.
"You know what? Yeah I do" Pomni smiled and giggles, a slight blush covering her as she nodded.
"That means we have to thank her then right?"Pomni asked him
"Poms I love you but don't push it" Jax replied with a snort, shaking his head.
"Hey it was worth a shot" She giggles at him with a hearty laugh.
"You're lucky I love you so much" Jax muttered at her
"Well I'm glad you do, I mean we're married now all because of you" Pomni says with a roll of her eyes in playfulness.
"Hey you said we wouldn't leave each other's side I'm just making it official" Jax told her, an amused snort coming from him.
"Yeah well we can't now for sure" Pomni says with a blush, with a sigh.
"Well I wouldn't have it any other way" The rabbit grins, a flushed look on his face as she shakes her her head.
He knew she loved it, that small smile she gave when he joked or when he was being his Jax self. She just couldn't resist him and he couldn't resist her either, they were a match made in this digital hell.
"And I love you too bunny boy" Pomni says with a tender smile, her loving gaze landing on his.
They both held their hands together, something glittering in their joined hands red and blue glittering on his hand while purple glittered around her own hand. Their rings still on their hands, still on their hands even after the adventure.
Even throughout everything they would be with each other, with rings as proof. They would still be married throughout this digital life.
