Summary
Ed had always been a peculiar kid, and his view on and way of making sense of the world tended to differ from everyone else’s. While Al understands his brother, other’s, mainly Roy, do not.
Whenever Ed assumes everyone is on his same page, when they are all in fact reading a different damn book, Roy calls Al to be an Edward translator for his unique definitions of reality. Some of them made due to Edward’s unique relationship with Truth. -

this fic is HILARIOUS 😭“The thing about war, the thing about bombs, is there is an aftermath. The war does not end after the fighting is over. Just because the main enemy has receded doesn’t mean the people left standing aren’t irreparably changed. When the dust clears and there is nothing left, the survivors start a new battle. Survival goes from adrenaline to endurance. Picking up the pieces and seeing what has shifted, within the world, within themselves, is its own kind of battle. Roy knows this. He knows this intimately. But foolishly hoped that these boys were freed.“
