Chapter Text
U.A. Highschool - Musutafu, Japan:
Nezu, the Principal of UA Highschool, the Mammal of Indeterminate Species, the Rat God of the Quirk Universe, was currently at his desk in his office doing the most dangerous form of hero work possible... paperwork.
Nezu had quite a few forms to fill out and file, and his loyal secretary, Janet, was on vacation. So the Rat God was on his own for this endeavor.
Nezu had been so caught up in his thoughts that he almost didn't hear the knock on his door.
"Enter!" Nezu called out.
The door opened and Midnight entered, an urgent look on her face as she was panting. Clearly she had been running.
"Ah, Kayama," Nezu greeted politely. "To what doni owe the pleasure of this visit?"
"We need you in the Support Department," she said urgently. "Now."
Nezu furrowed his eyebrows. Well, at least he won't have to deal with this paperwork for a little while.
Nezu followed Midnight down to the Support Department. There, Nezu saw Snipe and Cementoss standing guard.
Midnight opened the door and her and Nezu walked in.
In the Support Labs, Nezu saw that Power Loader, Ectoplasm, Vlad King, Aizawa, and All Might were gathered at a table.
"Speak to me," Nezu commanded. "What is it that you feel I should see."
"This," was all Power Loader said.
The five Pro Heroes parted to let Nezu look at the table. When he did, he was astonished by what he saw.
It was a robot of some kind, but not like the ones that either UA or I-Island had. This one was designed with a human-like shape.
"Now where did this come from?" Nezu asked curiously.
"That's the thing, sir," All Might replied. "It just showed up here at UA."
"So someone left it here by mistake?" Nezu asked.
"No, it literally just showed up at UA," All Might clarified. "It walked right past the entrance, and the barrier didn't activate."
Nezu froze at that. A mere machine had somehow moved past the school's defenses. That didn't bode well.
"I engaged it, but I barely even tapped it and it shut down," Aizawa added.
"Do we know who sent it?" Nezu asked.
"No," Vlad King replied. "And that's what has us worried. This could be a new move from the League, and we wouldn't even know until it was too late. That's why we made sure to strap it down."
Just then, mechanical sounds were heard from the robot as it activated itself on its own.
"Oh, that's not good," All Might muttered.
The robot then emitted scanning beams from its optics as it scanned the entire room. Once it was done scanning, the beams deactivated.
"Necessary guest count requirement: Not met," the robot said. "Entering Power Down Mode until requirement has been met."
With that, the robot shut down.
"Guest count requirement?" Midnight questioned.
"It must mean that a certain number of people need to be here for it come back online," Power Loader theorized. "Question is, how many?"
Nezu rubbed his chin as he thought about this, before reaching one singular conclusion.
"I do believe we will need to be making some calls," Nezu decided.
Timeskip:
A little bit later that day, and the UA Faculty all met with some of the Top Ten (Endeavor, Hawks, Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, Mirko, Kamui Woods, and Ryukyu), the WWP, Mt. Lady, and Gran Torino.
"Alright, Nezu," Endeavor said. "I was working on an important case when you called, and Burnin' won't be able to run my agency forever... You know how Moe feels about paperwork..."
"I assure you, Todoroki, this is quite important," Nezu said.
"Mandalay, where's your nephew?" Aizawa asked the leader of the WWP.
"I dropped him off at the 2-A Dorms," Mandalay replied. "Midoriya offered to keep an eye on him for me."
Aizawa nodded in understanding.
"Now, onto why I called you all here," Nezu said.
That got the Pro Heroes' attention as they had serious looks on their faces.
Nezu nodded to Power Loader, who stepped out of the room. A few minutes later, Power Loader came back in with the robot strapped down to a gurney and still offline.
"You brought us here because of a robot?" Mirko a huffed in annoyance.
"A robot that walked right through the gates of UA without setting off the barrier," Midnight told her.
"What?!" the Pros all exclaimed.
"And that's not even the weirdest part," Cementoss added.
"Wonderful, what is the weirdest part?" Mt. Lady asked sarcastically.
Just then, the robot activated again and emitted its blue scanning beams. This caused the Pros to be on guard immediately.
"What's it doing?!" Kamui Woods asked.
The scan sequence finally ended as the robot spoke once more.
"Necessary guest count requirement: Not met," the robot said. "Resuming power down mode until guest count requirement has been met."
With that, the robot powered back down.
The Pros all stared at the robot in shock.
"What was that about?" Ryukyu asked.
"We believe it considers us as guests for something," Hound Dog replied. "We think it has something it wants to show us."
"You're sure this isn't some kind of play by the League?" Hawks asked, his eyes narrowed.
"We thought so too, but after careful examination, I don't think even Detnerat could create something like this," Aizawa replied.
"It did this for us earlier," All Might told his fellow Pros. "Even with so many people here in this room, it still doesn't seem to think there are enough "guests"."
"So how do we know for sure if there are enough people for it to show it what it wants to show us?" Edgeshot asked.
Nezu thought for a moment, pondering on what the robot's system would seem as a "necessary guest count". After a few minutes of pondering, he reached one conclusion.
"Aizawa, Kan," Nezu said in an authoritative voice. "Go grab your students from their respective dorms. Hizashi, Maijima, go grab Shinso and Hatsume respectively. I feel that the students and the children may just be enough for the guest count that the robot is looking for."
Aizawa, Vlad King, Present Mic, and Power Loader all nodded in under and left.
"Is this really a good idea, sir?" Midnight asked in concern. "Involving the children in this?"
"Perhaps not," Nezu admitted. "But it may just be enough to convince the robot. By the way, Endeavor, if I am not mistaken, I believe the Yaoyorozus are here to visit their daughter today."
"What of it?" Endeavor asked with a barely restrained groan, already knowing where this was going.
"Are you not in talks with Miss Yaoyorozu's parents about a potential arrangement between her and your youngest son?" Nezu asked cheekily.
"Once," Endeavor replied. "Years ago. Her grandfather shut those talks down the second he found out that it was a son of mine that ended up being another one of her suitors."
"Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't aware of that," Nezu said, slightly embarrassed.
"That's a shame, I think Shoto and Yaoyorozu would be great together," Midnight sighed in disappointment.
"No they wouldn't have," Endeavor told her sternly. "With what my son was like back then, Shoto would've ended up continuing the sins I have committed. Maybe they had a crush on each other before. But I can say without a shadow of doubt that the girl's grandfather made the right choice by shutting down the talks."
"Are you sure about that, big guy?" Hawks asked.
"Positive," Endeavor replied firmly. "The girl deserves someone who won't treat her so coldly or harshly."
"That is surprisingly mature of you Endeavor," Ryukyu commented.
"Now, let's go set up the auditorium for us and the students," Nezu said.
As the Pros began to leave, Nezu's phone rang.
"Yes?" Nezu said, answering his phone. After a few seconds, he spoke again. "Oh, well, send her to the auditorium, please? Thank you."
With that, Nezu exited the room.
Meanwhile, in the 1-A Dorms, everyone was doing their own thing.
Kaminari, Sero, Ojiro, and Sato were playing Ultimate Smash Bros.
Shoji was keeping a close watch on Mineta to make sure he didn't mess with the girls of their class.
Tokoyami was trying to stop Dark Shadow from eating every single apple in the dorms, having to constantly remind him of the fact that it would upset the smol bean that was currently spending time with Izuku.
Bakugou was yelling Kirishima for something, and Koda was just sitting on the couch, petting his bunny.
Meanwhile, Izuku was spending time with Eri and Kota.
When the two kids met each other, Eri cheerfully compared the horn on her head and the horns on Kota's hat. It had made Kota blush in embarrassment.
Right now, Izuku was giving Eri a horseback ride, much to the little girl's delight as she laughed happily. At the same time, Kota was punching into Izuku's open palms to show him his strength.
Nearby, the 1-A Girls were watching, loving how Izuku was acting like a father figure to the two kids. Izuku noticed the girls watching and smiled at them, somehow missing their collective blushes.
'Midori is so CUTE whenever he interacts with Eri and Kota!' Mina thought to herself with a lilac blush.
'Dawww, so precious!' Toru thought to herself, swaying from side to side.
'Ribbit, cute,' Tsuyu thought to herself.
Ochako giggled as her blush deepened.
'Damn it, Green, why do you have to be such a cinnamon roll and a good parental figure?' Jiro internally questioned as she blushed, twirling one of her jacks around her finger.
'Midoriya makes for such a great father,' Momo thought to herself with a blush, imagining both herself and Izuku as adults, wearing rings on their fingers, Izuku resting his head on her swollen stomach as he rubbed it while she stroked his hair, soft smiles on their faces.
However, at that moment, Aizawa entered the dorms, silencing everyone.
"Alright, settle down," Aizawa called out.
"Sensei, what news do you bring?" Iida asked.
"Per Nezu's orders, all of us are needed in the auditorium," Aizawa replied. "Follow me quietly and calmly. Those who don't will be on garbage duty for three days... I'm looking at you, Bakugou and Kirishima."
Bakugou scoffed and looked away while Kirishima rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
With that, Class 1-A began following their homeroom teacher out of the dorms. The girls rushed and fought over who got to walk next to Izuku. In the end, Mina won as she grinned mischievously at her fellow female classmates while Eri innocently asked her about her own horns.
Later, Aizawa, his class, Eri, and Kota arrived at the auditorium. There, they saw that Class 1-B, their homeroom teacher, the faculty, Shinso, Mei, the Big Three, some of the Top Ten, Mt. Lady, the Wild Wild Pussycats, and Gran Torino were there too.
"Kendo-san," Momo said, running up to her friend. "Do you know what's going on?"
"I don't know," Itsuka replied. "None of us do."
"Of course the inferior Class 1-A doesn't know what's going on," Monoma mocked.
"But didn't Miss Kendo say you guys didn't know either?" Eri asked, walking up with Izuku holding her hand.
Monoma fell silent, unable to find a retort against the unicorn child.
Nearby, Yui and Setsuna waved at Izuku, who waved back. The 1-A girls glared jealously at the two 1-B girls.
"Izuku!" cried the familiar voice of Inko as she ran up and gave her son a bone crushing hug.
"Hi... mom... Can't... Breathe..." Izuku wheezed as he saw his life flashing before his eyes.
"Hi, grandma!" Eri greeted Inko with a bright smile.
"Eri, sweetie!" Inko greeted happily, switching from her son to her unofficially adopted granddaughter, wrapping her in a much softer hug. "I missed you so much, pumpkin!"
"I missed you too, grandma!" Eri replied, giggling.
Momo giggled at the sight as she helped Izuku recover his breath.
"Momo?" a female voice said.
Momo whirled around in surprise to see her parents, Takashi and Yana Yaoyorozu, were here as well.
"Mother? Father?" Momo questioned before running up to them and embracing them. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming, I would've had our dorms prepared for your visit."
"We wanted to surprise you, sweetie," Takashi chuckled.
"Yeah, and they weren't the only ones," a gruff elderly voice said from behind Momo's parents.
Momo's eyes went wide as she peered around her parents and saw her grandfather, Tadashi Yaoyorozu.
"Pa- I mean, grandfather," Momo said, nearly using grandpa name for him that she had used since childhood, only to correct herself and bow to her grandfather. "I am so pleased to see that you are here as well."
"Momo, we may be high class folk, but we're family, so get over here and hug your grandfather before I have to come over there myself," Tadashi lightly scolded his granddaughter.
Momo smiled, then ran up and embraced her grandfather.
At that moment, Nezu tapped the microphone, getting everyone's attention.
"Can everyone hear me clearly?" he asked. After a round of affirmatives, he resumed. "Now, I know many of you were all busy and had plans today. So you surely must be wondering what this is about." Another round of affirmatives. "Well, the answer is simple: Earlier today, an odd robot managed to walk past UA's gates without setting off the barrier. 1-A's homeroom teacher, Aizawa Shota, engaged the machine and had barely even tapped it when it shut off."
The got people to start murmuring, deeply concerned.
"After careful examination, we have determined that the robot was not sent by the League of Villains or even the MLA," Nezu continued, receiving sighs of relief. "In fact, we have determined that nobody on Earth is even remotely close to the level of technology found in the robot, not even on I-Island."
More murmuring.
"Now as for the reason we brought you all here to the auditorium..." Nezu said, then nodded to Power Loader.
Power Loader nodded and walked out of the room and into a nearby closet. After a few seconds, he came back out, wheeling the robot, which was still strapped down to the gurney.
Once Power Loader had wheeled the robot into the center of the room, the robot activated itself one more time, emitting its blue scanning beams. This made those not in the know to be a little freaked out.
"Please remain calm," Nezu called out. "I can assure that this isn't dangerous."
Due to the larger room, the scan took longer. Once it was done, the robot spoke.
"Necessary guest count requirement: Met," the robot said. "Relaying message."
The robot then activated a holographic beam as an armored figure appeared from the hologram.
"Greetings, U.A.," the figure said. "My name is Nighlock, protector of the Multiverse."
Everyone murmured once more, with the brainiacs being excited to hear that the Multiverse is real.
"If you are seeing this message, it means a necessary amount of people are here now," Nighlock continued. "I have sent this robot here with recordings from different universes because I have seen the storm coming for your country. And if that storm is allowed to continue brewing, it will eventually expand across the globe itself."
Nezu, Endeavor, Hawks, All Might, Aizawa, Present Mic, and Gran Torino all frowned. They knew what storm Nighlock was talking about: the recent development of the LOV and MLA teaming up to launch a war upon Japan and its hero society.
"I have sent this robot here to show you these recordings I have mentioned," Nighlock continued. "I feel that if you were to view them, perhaps you could be better prepared for what is coming. And make no mistake, if you are not prepared for the storm coming your way, you will lose many loved ones and allies that could've been saved. I have also seen many timelines where, even when you all managed to win without these preparations, things either did not improve or just simply got worse, and allowed the storm return once more, but stronger than ever. I would like to avoid that. And to do that, you all need to understand that things in your country have to change. Things in your country have become far too corrupt and dangerous, and certain people in power have made sure to keep Japan blind to what is truly wrong with the country."
Everyone looked at each other in confusion.
"These universes, many of them have heroes and villains in them too," Nighlock continued. "Learn from them. Take inspiration from them. Use the lessons you learn along the way to improve your country and help it understand why things need to change before something even worse comes about. Good luck."
With that, the hologram shut off.
Everyone was silent.
Then...
"Are we sure this is real?" Awase asked skeptically.
Almost as if answering his question, the robot turned on and sat up, breaking the straps.
"Greetings, faculty and students of UA Highschool, Pro Heroes and Heroines, and civilians both old and young," the robot greeted in a robotic voice. "If there are any questions before we begin, now is the time to ask."
"Yeah, can you tell us anything about the Multiverse?" Mei asked, practically vibrating where she stood.
"Only during the viewings," the robot replied.
"What are we watching first?" Mineta asked, his mind thinking of several inappropriate things they could watch.
"My creator informed me I am allowed to say as that would fall within the confines of spoilers," the robot replied. "Are there any other questions?"
"Can we watch something cool?!" Kota asked excitedly, raising his hand.
"Something with Papa in it!" Eri declared, just as excitedly.
The robot took a moment to process their request before coming to a conclusion.
"Request acknowledged, small unicorn child and watery triceratops boy," the robot replied.
Eri giggled while Kota took off his hat and looked at its horns in confusion. Surely they didn't resemble the horns of triceratops that much, right?
"If there are no further questions, we will now begin the first viewing," the robot said, walking over to the controls for the projector.
Everyone rushed to their seats as the robot lowered the projector screen, linked his system up with the projector, dimmed the lights, and began the first universe.
