Summary
Inside a secret military base near Seoul, Colonel Martin Edwards leads an elite unit in a world overrun by a virus that turns humans into aggressive infected creatures. One night, after a civilian group is attacked, Martin witnesses something impossible: the infected devour two people but completely ignore the third—a silent, empty-eyed young man named Kim Juhoon.
Against all protocol, Martin brings Juhoon inside. As an unexpected inspection by a powerful general approaches, Martin hides the mysterious civilian while trying to uncover the truth about him. Juhoon barely speaks or eats, until Martin alone manages to reach him.
Observed by his suspicious team, Martin finds his cold, controlled exterior cracking. He doesn’t know if Juhoon is infected, a threat, or something far more dangerous. But something in the young man’s haunted eyes makes Martin break every rule he lives by and draws them together in the middle of the apocalypse.
