Actually getting Ellie out of the dimension wasn't too hard, it was making sure no one knew and that they weren't followed that was worrying. To Evangeline anyway. Astra wasn't worried in the slightest. If they got caught she'd just find it funny.
“Can we please just go?” Astra asked after Evangeline checked the halls for the third time,
“Dresden is the only one who ever comes up here other than us, and I would like to get drunk now please.” Evangeline sighed,
“Alright, let's go,”
“Thank you.” Astra opened a portal into the basement of the Gothic castle that used to be the LAFF. Alexis' jaw dropped open,
“This is a basement! It's the size of a small house!” The other three looked around, it was large, as wine cellars are, but nothing out of the ordinary. For them at least. Eloise, Astra, and Evangeline were raised in similar accommodations to the castle they were now in. Alexis on the other hand, had always struggled to make enough to eat.
“I suppose it is a bit large for a wine cellar, though for the building we're in that's not all that surprising.” Evangeline rationalized.
“For this building? School dormitories don't usually have small house sized basements full of, judging by how excited Astra is, very potent alcohol!” Alexis exclaimed.
*This isn't a school dormitory, that's just what I used it for.* Eloise cut in. Alexis froze,
“Wait, so this is just a legit castle?” The other three all nodded.
“Damn, I'm in a legit castle. Guess I can cross that off my bucket list.” Alexis muttered.
“Have you never been in a castle before? Even in all of your travels throughout the multiverse?” Evangeline asked somewhat pityingly.
“No. We just go to fix problems and then go home.” Alexis replied.
“Eh, they're not all that special. They're basically just houses but larger, with occasional secret passages thrown in.” Astra downplayed.
“Secret passages!?” Alexis demanded.
*Yes, this castle has them.* Eloise elaborated.
“Show me!”
“We will, but first: wine!!!” Astra announced. She walked up to one of the barrels and pulled out a knife.
“What are you doing?” Evangeline asked tentatively.
“You'll see,” Astra sang. She carved a symbol into the top of the barrel and pulled out a bottle. A bottle with the same symbol on the label. They watched as it magically filled with wine.
“Seeing as you're upset, you can have the first bottle.” Astra smiled, holding it out to Alexis. She took it, unscrewed the top, and took a sip. Her eyes lit up,
“This is amazing!” Alexis took another sip,
“Mmmmmmmmy gosh that's delicious,”
“How many barrels do you want?” Astra asked, her eyes glimmering with a chaotic light.
“Oh, two should be plenty,” Alexis said before taking another sip,
“Wow! I'm already feeling it.” Astra carved the same symbol into another barrel. She moved to the next and carved a different symbol on it. She pulled out the matching bottle and handed it to Evangeline.
“How many do you want?” Astra asked her as she took her first sip. Evangeline's eyes shot open and she quickly gulped it down,
“Wow! That is, mmh, I can see why this is a religious experience.” Evangeline glanced at Astra and realized that she's been asked a question,
“Oh, just one for me. I don't drink much.” Astra nodded and moved on. She carved another symbol into the next three barrels. She tossed the matching bottle to Eloise, who caught it and took four large gulps before letting out a satisfied,
“Ahh,” Astra then gave herself three barrels as well. She took a sip of the delectable smelling Dionesian wine, and closed her eyes to savor it. After a moment, she swallowed and clapped to get the others' attention.
“Alright, we're set. Now, let's get out of here! We'll have a much better trip if we can roam!” Astra waved for the others to follow, and led them to the other side of the room. She felt around what looked like a wall, but when she pushed in a specific brick, it was proven to be a door. Alexis gasped,
“Secret passage!”
“That's right,” Astra confirmed, stepping into the hall. They walked through it for a while until Astra knocked on another fake wall. A door opened to the outside. They all stepped out and took a deep breath of the outside air. There was an immediate understanding that this was where they were meant to be.
“I want to run.” Evangeline realized.
“Race you out the gate?” Astra challenged. Alexis took another sip of wine,
“You're on!”
The four of them ran through the courtyard filled with a complete sense of joy. They reached the gate giggling their little hearts out. Evangeline took another sip,
“That was incredible!”
*That's why we do it,* Eloise responded, feeling vindicated.
“Now,” Astra gestured toward the open world around them,
“We run free.”
Run they did, whooping and screaming their elation to the sky. At one point Alexis ran up behind Astra and tackled her. Astra responded in kind, and they wrestled rolling across the ground. Evangeline stopped and doubled back,
“Are you all right?” She worriedly asked.
“We're amazing!” Alexis nearly shouted. Evangeline smiled at them,

Evangeline was content watching, but one of them ended up dragging her in. Eventually all four of them ended up in a pile staring up at the stars. “Lead the way fair maiden,” Evangeline gave a ‘go ahead’ flourish with her arms. Astra continued leading them to the caves.

“I don't know what you're talking about,” Evangeline said in the most innocent voice she could muster. They walked for a few more minutes until Astra announced,
“We're here.” Where they were was at a hole in the wall.
“I didn't know the slide was made of rocks,” Evangeline commented.

“It's it gonna hurt?” Evangeline asked with big worried eyes.
“No, it'll be just like a slip n slide.” Astra assured her.
“A what?”

When she landed at the bottom, the others were looking at the lake in awe. The bottom of it was glowing in different colors causing a kaleidoscope of colors on the ceiling.
“That was fun,” Evangeline conceded as Astra walked up to join them. Then she looked around,
“We don't have any bathing suits,” Evangeline pointed out.
“That is okay, “ Astra assured her. Alexis and Ellie got the message and started stripping with Astra. Evangeline stared at them in fascination.
“I knew the mind blocked certain inclinations of the soul, but I never thought …” Evangeline murmured under her breath.
“You good there, Big Girl?” Astra asked before diving in. Evangeline grinned,

Alexis was the first to dive in; Astra wasn't too far after; Ellie just slipped in off the edge; and Evangeline simply stepped in. Astra closed her eyes and let herself sink under the water. “Wherever is holding you back, let it go. Do what feels right.” Astra counseled. Evangeline nodded again, thought for a minute, and submerged herself in the water. She reemerged next to Ellie. “You wanna see if we can join?” Alexis asked from behind her. Astra jumped a little and looked back.
“I would.” Astra and Alexis swam over to meet the other two. When they pulled back, Evangeline pulled Alexis in for a kiss, to which she happily obliged. Ellie swam into Astra's arms and kissed her. The others all gratefully took a drink before getting up. They walked through the portal, appearing outside a house.
“For the guardians of Anna Fenze and Jake Tagen! I got the right one!” Evangeline read the plaque next to the door.
*That's great, but we're gonna wanna get inside before anyone sees us,* Eloise pointed out.
“Good point,” Evangeline muttered. The four of them hurried inside. They locked the door behind them and collapsed into the bed as soon as they got there. Knowing they could finally rest, they fell happy asleep in each other's arms.
