Summary
Ratchet had always been strange about his quarters.
Soundproofed, temperature-controlled, humidity-controlled, and placed as far from the Ark’s common corridors as possible, they were the best private quarters aboard the ship. Optimus had granted the request without question, trusting his old friend and loyal medic. No one suspected that Ratchet’s protectiveness had nothing to do with comfort.
Then the Decepticons attack the Ark directly.
Instead of rushing to the battlefield, Ratchet abandons the Autobots and seals himself inside his quarters. To Ultra Magnus, it looks like cowardice. Maybe even treason. Furious, he breaks down the door, determined to expose the doctor’s betrayal.
What he finds inside changes everything.
